Chapter 4 — A Map to the Future or a Return to the Past
Eliana's Diary
Adrian stared at the diary in his hands, still trying to understand what it meant. The leather was dark and old, but it seemed to pulse with a living energy. He took a deep breath and opened it carefully.
The first page—nothing.
Then, golden lines began to emerge in the air, drawing a magical map, floating before him as if being traced by invisible hands. His eyes widened.
— "A... map?"
Before he could touch the markings, a phrase appeared on the first page of the diary:
> "This is your first step.
If you cannot claim this inheritance, the rest will make no sense.
The secret of this world lies in the truths beyond the walls of this city."
Adrian swallowed hard. Something inside him whispered that this was the answer he had been searching for... but also the beginning of something far greater.
Just below, other words appeared. The energy felt different—like a whispered farewell:
> "If one day you are about to die,
If you fail to reach this inheritance,
The diary will take you to the safest place within your mind.
Your memories will fade, and you may treat everything as if it were just a dream.
This is our final protection for our most precious treasure: you, son.
We would rather see you live a normal life, as long as you're safe. That is enough for us."
Adrian closed the diary, tears falling from his eyes.
— "Father… Mother… Even now, you're still trying to protect me…"
With a determined expression, he declared:
— "I will find that inheritance. I want to see the world. I want to protect everyone at the orphanage."
