Chapter 1 -  CHAPTER 1: - THE ESCAPE

In the 6th century BC, there was a small village named Shimaz. Among its inhabitants was a family of five: Elcos, a spirited nine-year-old boy; his older brother Caural, who was fifteen and skilled in the fighting style known as Shukar; their newborn sister Sauras; and their parents, Laural and Shema. Laural was 34 years old, and Shema was 28. Despite their love and unity, they were a poor family, struggling to eat even twice a day.

One fateful day, the village of Shawik launched a brutal raid on Shimaz. Their primary goal was to loot resources and enslave the villagers. Panic and chaos ensued as the raiders attacked. Some villagers tried to flee but were mercilessly killed. Elcos and Caural attempted to escape while their parents fought valiantly to protect them. Tragically, Laural and Shema were killed in the skirmish.

In the midst of the chaos, Elcos realized they had left their little sister behind. Determined to save her, he and Caural returned to their home, only to find their parents dead and Sauras missing. Before they could process the horror, they were spotted by the raiders. Caural, with a fierce determination, instructed Elcos to run away, promising to follow later.

Elcos ran as fast as he could, eventually hiding in a bush. From his hiding spot, he watched in terror as his brother fought bravely against the raiders. Despite his efforts, Caural was captured. Elcos, overwhelmed with grief, began to cry. Suddenly, an elderly man appeared, running towards him. The man quickly covered Elcos's mouth to prevent the raiders from hearing his cries and carried him away to safety.

Elcos struggled against the man's grip, hitting him and demanding to be let go. The elderly man, however, spoke urgently, "It is dangerous to go back. Those monsters will kill you too. I will take you to a safer place." Despite his fear and anger, Elcos reluctantly followed the man.

After walking for some time, the elderly man grew thirsty. He searched for water but found none. The only option was to find another village. Eventually, they stumbled upon a village and asked a villager for water. The elderly man drank deeply and then offered some to Elcos.

As they rested, the old man asked, "Hey boy, what is your name?" Through his tears, Elcos replied, "My name is Elcos." The elderly man looked at him with concern and said, "Listen, Elcos, the raiders will have put a bounty on you. You need to change your identity. Do you understand? They will kill you if they find you."

Elcos, still grieving and confused, protested, "I won't stay here. They will hunt me too." The old man sighed, "You need to stay in this village for the rest of your life. If you want revenge, you need to train. Don't cry like a whim. I know you will take revenge. I know your heart is burning with rage. You need to train harder and harder, at least for your family and your sister. Those raiders killed all your family, and if you stay crying like this, they will kill you too."
