Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Two days had passed since my last encounter with "The Boss." Although I hadn't seen him, Ahmad's frequent visits to the house had been impossible to miss.

From my third-floor room, I'd watch him enter and exit the grand estate,

The four-story structure's stone façade, complete with towering spires and narrow windows, seemed imposing, yet majestic. Guards stood stationed at the far end of the property, monitoring the gate entrance with an air of stern vigilance.

My new room, a luxurious sanctuary, had become a refuge. The plush area rugs, soft beneath my feet, complemented the elegant décor. A stunning queen-sized bed, adorned with velvet pillows, dominated the space.

Floor-to-ceiling windows, leading out to a spacious balcony, bathed the room in natural light. A walk-in closet, overflowing with designer clothing in my size, had left me astonished.

Towering shoe racks, lined with stilettos and pumps, seemed to stretch up to the ceiling. The expansive bathroom, equipped with marble countertops and a crystal chandelier was a marvel.

Grateful to be free from my stalker's relentless pursuit, I'd begun to adjust to my new life. However, the sense of security came with a price – my independence.

But despite the comforts of my new surroundings, I still couldn't shake the memory of Ahmad's attempted seduction.

A knock at the door broke the silence. "Come in," I replied, expecting Ma'Cherry, the kind-hearted woman who managed the household. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor put me at ease.

"Good morning, dear. How was your rest?" she asked, nodding toward the breakfast tray, which I'd kept aside.

"It was great, Ma'Cherry," I replied, forcing a smile.

"I see you've finished breakfast," she observed, collecting the tray. "Sir Sam – The Boss – is waiting for you in his private parlor."

My heart skipped a beat at the mention of his name. "Who's Sir Sam?" I asked, feigning ignorance.

Ma'Cherry's expression turned serious. "The Boss. He's requested your presence."

I rose from the bed, resigned to my fate. "I'll get dressed."

Ma'Cherry's parting words hung in the air: "Please hurry, Sir Sam is a very busy man."

As I browsed through the clothes in my closet, a spark of defiance ignited within me. Who did he think he was, summoning me at his whim? I took my time, finally settling on a knee-length satin cowl slip dress.

With a deep breath, I knocked on the door to The Boss's private parlor. The door beeped, and a low, smooth voice invited me in.

As I entered, The Boss turned to face me, his eyes narrowing slightly. He was resplendent in a tailored tuxedo, complete with a vest and a crisp white shirt. Tattoos adorned both arms, visible beneath his rolled-up sleeves. His shiny office shoes perfectly complemented his outfit, he looked hot and this made me shiver to my bone.

The door closed behind me with a soft click. The Boss's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze piercing. "You're late," he stated, his voice calm, yet laced with an undercurrent of menace. "I sent for you thirty minutes ago."

I swallowed hard, attempting to sound brave. "I'm a woman, I can't just run to you at your beck and–"

The Boss's sharp stare cut me off. He strode toward the sofa, his movements fluid and deliberate. With a calculated gesture, he poured the contents of his wine glass over me.

I gasped, shock and fear mingling as I frantically wiped the liquid from my face. He loomed over me, his eyes glinting with a sinister light. "When I call, you come – no matter what. Do you understand?"

Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I nodded, humiliation washing over me. His parting words echoed in my mind: "Now, get out of my sight."

With a suppressed sob, I turned and fled the room, the door closing behind me with a soft click.
