The Celebration...
"You look beautiful darling."
Smith stood at the entrance of Tyra's room folding his arms, he leaned on the opened door smiling. It was a large space brigthened with candle lights at each corner with little light that reflected from the bright moon through the windows behind the huge maroon curtains.
The scent of lavender filled the room because of the flower decorations on the wall, her wardrobe was filled with long colourful corset dresses and accessories. Beside the king sized bed dressed in white sheets stood Tyra. She smiled as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.
She was dressed in a midnight blue corset ball gown embroided with silver thread tracing delicate floral patterns that curled like ivy over her torso, highlighting her tiny waist accentuating her graceful form. The skirt flowed down the marble floor. She let her long silky hair down that glittered with tiny sapphire pins scattered around the curls. Around her neck rested a choker made of velvet the same midnight shade of her gown with a silver rose pendant which matched her earrings.
Smith walked up to her and kissed her forehead. "Are you ready my child?" She nodded in excitement.
...........
The Palace Ceremonial hall glittered with grandeur, crystal chandeliers that lit the large hall with golden light, while velvet drapes in deep royal blue framed the arched windows. Royal blue banners with the image of a silver hawk and glowing relic beneath its claws flowed from the high ceiling, the scent of fresh roses and burning incense filled the atmosphere.
Laughter and loud murmurings filled the hall with the clink of crystal glasses which echoed through the large hall. It was a lively space crowded by royalties, people of Havans and special guests beyond the Kingdom. At the sound of the trumpet, the King and Queen walked through the aisle with the people cheering and applauding them. Raina held her husband's arm, King Mathias tightly. She grinned from ear to ear, at that moment, she felt like the happiest woman on earth. Finally her husband was recognised not only for his wisdom but as the King of the Havans. It was truly worth it she thought.
The doors were closed again.
"Now Tobey, I beg you to walk like a normal person beside me in the hall."
Prince Eric held Tobey's shoulders. His strong grip had Tobey wincing in pain. He nodded.
"Do not be distributed My Lord, I made sure he did not visit one of those tarvens in the village today." Jonathan winked at Tobey smiling. He was the Prince's personal guard, one of the finest Knights in the Kingdom.
The door opened before Eric could respond and they all entered the hall. The people applauded and cheered the Prince but the screams from the Ladies at every corner of the room made Jonathan cover his ears. He was the quiet and reserved type unlike Tobey.
"The Ladies are going crazy for you My Lord . I heard from the maids in the palace that you are every Ladies dream". He said in a loud tone because of the noise. Tobey scoffed,
"Who said that they are only crazy about the Prince? No one in the Kingdom can deny the fact that I am indeed popular among the ladies for my looks. " Tobey said as he winked at some of the ladies beside him. He turned to look at the Prince but only received a puzzled look. Before he could react, he fell amidst the crowd and was able to roll away quickly before they stepped on him.
The Prince had pushed him.
"May the celebration begin".
The dancers got ready for their presentation as music and dancing were the only form of entertainment at that time. It was the perfect time for the Prince to pick a maiden to dance with.
Eric walked round the hall looking for the perfect maiden but they were either too eager to get close to him or way too loud. He was flustered at some point because some of the ladies gathered around him with no way to pass until Jonathan came to his rescue. Eric Pat his shoulder and nodded in appreciation.
The murmurings seized when he stopped at a corner.
Although Tyra was in a corner chatting with her friends, her presence could not be ignored. Every time she giggled, she glowed under the bright lights in the hall coupled with her dress. Rachel gasped, " I think the Prince is coming this way". It was so obvious that she was excited as she had the biggest smile on her face.
Tyra scoffed not turning around. "You have said that three times already Rachel".
"Because he is." Rachel insisted bouncing slightly on her toes. Tyra folded her arms still facing away, she looked at Isadore but she had the same wide smile as Rachel.
"May I have this dance with you?" Eric said behind her. He spoke with a silky baritone, confident and composed. Tyra did not move, her heart was thudding faster betraying the calm she tried to wear on her face.
She turned around almost losing her balance. The Prince smiled faintly extending his right hand. Tyra found herself staring, he was not different from what her friends described him to be.
"My lady?" He said again cocking his brow.
She tried to speak but nervousness got the best of her so she nodded slowly. Eric came closer holding her hand, he held her waist with the other.
She gasped faintly...
