Chapter 76 - Chapter 77: The Flame and the Bloodline

The sky cracked.

A blast of molten energy tore through the air like a lightning bolt of pure wrath—Godzilla's atomic breath. It collided with Scar King mid-leap, just before his whip could slice the air in front of your face.

The impact exploded in a bloom of pink and blue flame, forcing Scar King to twist mid-air and crash violently into the jungle below. Earth cracked under his mass as he tumbled, groaning, kicking up shattered stone and fire-scorched wood.

You hovered above, wings beating hard, chest heaving.

Your eyes turned toward the source.

There he was—Godzilla, standing firm with smoke rising off his spines, their colors flickering between crimson and pink. His chest rumbled with that familiar sound… not a challenge, but a statement.

You nodded.

Just once.

Not a thank you with words, but with warrior's respect. He gave nothing back—only turned, roaring toward Shimo again, the echo tearing across the battlefield like a wave.

You didn't have time to rest.

Below, Scar King stood again, shaking the dirt from his body, snarling as molten steam rose from where Godzilla's blast had burned him.

His glare found you again.

He wasn't just angry now—he was humiliated. The firelight reflected in his eyes, and for the first time, you saw it: this wasn't just a fight to dominate… this was vengeance. Pride. The refusal to be bested.

With a roar of hatred, Scar King ripped a massive tree from the ground, bark still dripping with sap, roots dangling like veins.

He raised it like a javelin, the tip pointed directly at you.

Your eyes widened. "Not fast enough—"

FWOOSH

You didn't hesitate. You opened your mouth and let out a furious blast of flame, engulfing the tree before he could throw it. The fire spread quickly, turning the weapon to a flaming torch in his grip.

Scar King snarled and let it fly anyway—burning, hissing, screaming through the air like a comet.

You banked hard to the side, the tree grazing your wing, embers scattering across your scales.

He's relentless. I underestimated how fast he can read me. This isn't a Titan blinded by rage… this is a strategist.

Before you could recenter yourself, Scar King leaped again, faster than before.

Too fast.

Your instincts screamed at you. You tried to dodge, tried to flare your wings and dive, but you knew—it wouldn't be fast enough this time.

No—he's too close—

Then something powerful slammed into your side, knocking you sideways mid-air.

You felt claws grip your scales, large wings wrapping around your form as the world tilted—

And then, safety.

You turned your head mid-flight to see him.

Your eldest son.

The First Elder.

His scales were darker than yours, streaked with bronze and red. His eyes, fierce and burning with the same fire you once saw in your own reflection so long ago.

"What—You—?!" you barked, shocked. "You're not supposed to be here!"

He grinned, breath ragged but determined. "I followed you," he shouted over the wind. "I knew something would happen—good thing I did."

You looked down. Scar King had landed where you would've been. His claws tore through the space like blades. He looked up—furious that his kill was stolen.

You let out a slow breath as your son steadied both of you mid-air, then flared his wings and brought you back into hover.

He came anyway. Even when I told them to stay in the valley. He disobeyed my orders… but saved my life.

You looked at him, not with anger, but realization.

He's not just my son anymore.

He's a warrior. One who's ready.

Scar King roared in frustration, pounding the earth with both fists. The jungle shook beneath him. But something in your blood had changed now—burning hotter, stronger.

You looked at your son.

"Let's fight," you growled.

And together, you dove back into the fire.
