Chapter 2 - 2. Azalea

"Listen to this Lea~" Lindsay sob gulping another shot of whatever liquor she had ordered. "He said, he said that— that he's done with me— waaaaah!" She wailed.

I caressed her back as I drink my non-alcoholic beverage. "He's a jerk, a scumbag."

"But I love him so much hic, I would rather be cheated on, than him saying those hurtful words hic."

"He's awful, you shouldn't have dated him in the first place."

She stopped talking and drinking, looking at me, glaring rather. "Can you at least try to sound worried? That's the same line you said to me last time!" She pouted.

I smiled as I pinched both of her cheeks, "I would if you had taken my advice in the first place! Who else would hear you rant about your 7th break up with the same person, huh? Huh?! Me!"

"Erm sowwy..."

I heaved a sigh, finishing my drink after I let go of Lindsay's cheek. Suddenly, she slid a ticket on the table.

I raised a brow, "What's this?"

"It's their VIP event in this club." She said, as she continued drinking before calling the waiter again and giving him her order. "I thought you might like it. Think of it as a gift from me, my payment for always dragging you on my stupidity."

"...But, what exactly is this ticket for?"

"Matchmaking."

"Matchmaking?"

She nodded, a smirk creeping in "Matchmaking."

Confused as I was, Lindsay gestured her hand and a waiter suddenly guided me to a room. Oh my gosh, it's not what I think it is, is it?

The room's set up was dim, almost like an investigation room. The waiter told me to sit in front of a wall with a narrow hole. Soon, he gave me a pamphlet.

[ 14 days Matchmaking

Are you excited to meet your match?

You are going to get set up with a random man who has the same number as your ticket and you will be meeting for fourteen days in this room.

Get close, ask anything!

But never ask for each other's social media.

Remember, anything that happens or had been said here, stays here.

At the fourteenth day, you two can get to decide whether you want to see each other and take your relationship to the next level!

Please press the blue button if you wish to proceed with the Matchmaking, and the purple if you wish to withdraw.

But of course, you can always withdraw anytime if you feel like the spark isn't there! ]

I read the pamphlet and...woah. A matchmaking set up? Didn't Lindsay said that this is a VIP ticket? Isn't this more like a regular blind date? Did she get scammed?

My eyes panned to the two small buttons on the wall next to me. A blue and purple color.

Well, it's not like I'm going to lose anything, besides, I'll be just talking with them and I can always withdraw if I get uncomfortable.

[ Thank you for choosing! I hope you enjoy your 14 days and may your love blossom successfully! ]

I almost jumped, startled by the sudden automated voice after pressing the blue button.

I waited for a while, is the person who has the same ticket as mine withdrawn? But shouldn't I have been informed? How much time has it been? Ugh.

Just as I was about to get tired waiting, I heard the chaor screeches at the other side of the wall and a rustle of what I assume a coat.

"I apologize for keeping you waiting, that was tardy of me."

A deep masculine voice was heard from the wall, he was breathing heavily. Did he perhaps run from here?

"Oh, don't worry, I didn't mind at all." I lied, I did mind, but knowing that he must've ran to get here made me shrug it off.

There was a brief silence. Um, did he passed out?

"...You sound familiar," I heard him say which took me a back. "Or perhaps you just have similar voices."

Can he be someone I know? But his voice doesn't ring a bell, nor have I heard anyone with that kind of voice. I shook my head shaking the thoughts building up. Perhaps he just mistook me for someone.

"I'm Syl, by the way, shall we order something?" He introduced.

"Oh, sure and, um, I'm Lea." I wasn't sure if it's alright to tell him my real name, I wasn't also sure if the name he had introduced was his.

Nicknames are a far safer option.
