Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

Luya smiled mysteriously, then began recounting the general story of what had happened.

After a long pause…

"Frieza has been resurrected," he said.

Gohan and Piccolo's expressions darkened, a flicker of fear crossing their faces. The name alone carried weight—Frieza, the tyrant of the universe, had left a mark they could never forget.

"Dad defeated him more than once," Gohan muttered through clenched teeth. "But I never imagined he'd come back again... and so fast."

Piccolo's eyes narrowed. "I was killed by him once. We haven't fought since, but... that power... the fear still lingers."

He turned to Luya with suspicion. "How do you know this? You just arrived on Earth. Are you like Trunks—someone from the future?"

Luya smirked, evasive. "Let's just say... I have my sources. What matters is that Frieza is back—and he's far more powerful than before. He's training right now. At most, you have four months before he arrives on Earth."

Gohan's expression grew even more serious. "He's stronger now? Are you sure?"

Luya nodded solemnly. "Incredibly strong."

He didn't reveal everything—that Frieza's base form alone could potentially defeat Super Saiyan Gohan from this timeline. It wouldn't make things interesting if he gave it all away.

Piccolo and Gohan exchanged glances.

"Whether this is true or not," Piccolo said, "we need to prepare. Let's return and figure out a strategy."

Gohan nodded. Then, turning to Luya with a smile, he asked, "Luya, was it? If you don't mind, would you like to stay with us for a while?"

Piccolo raised a brow but said nothing.

Luya was momentarily stunned. He had nowhere else to go—so he agreed. "Alright, I'll stay for a few days."

Before heading to Gohan's house, the group made a stop at Capsule Corp. to hand over a space capsule Luya had arrived in. Bulma was shocked to see another Saiyan, but with Vegeta as her husband, she welcomed Luya warmly and was intrigued by the capsule's tech.

After saying goodbye to Bulma, the trio departed.

In the days that followed, Luya stayed with Gohan and even asked him to teach him some techniques, including the Kamehameha. He trained diligently, showing a natural affinity for battle—typical of one with Saiyan blood.

Word of Luya's existence spread quickly. Krillin and the other Z Fighters were surprised, but when they heard whispers of Frieza's resurrection, disbelief quickly turned to concern. They resumed their training, even Krillin temporarily leaving his duties as a police officer.

Soon, Bulma received shocking confirmation. According to Jaco of the Galactic Patrol, Frieza had indeed been revived by his soldiers using Earth's Dragon Balls—and was rapidly gaining power. His army, now reorganized under Sorbet, was preparing for an attack on Earth.

The warning lit a fire under the group. Everyone doubled down on their training.

Two months later…

Luya had grown immensely in power, familiarizing himself with his potential. His battle power had soared to an estimated 210 million—a level that put him in league with some of the stronger warriors on Earth.

With pride and urgency, he approached Gohan one day.

"Gohan, I want to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber," Luya said.

Gohan immediately brought it up with Piccolo. After a brief discussion, Piccolo nodded.

"With Goku and Vegeta off-world, we'll need every strong ally we can get. Go for it."

Luya's path as a warrior was only beginning—and with Frieza's return looming, time was of the essence.

The reason Luya wanted to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber was because the system had temporarily issued a mission.

However, even without the system's prompt, he would have gone there anyway. After all, anyone familiar with Dragon Ball knows that it's the fastest place to train and drastically increase one's power in a short amount of time.

Soon, Gohan brought Luya to The Lookout.

"Long time no see, Gohan!" Dende trotted over, surprise lighting up his face, and gave Gohan a warm hug.

Since Piccolo had merged with Kami, Dende had taken up the role of Earth's Guardian. He had matured over the years and now carried a more composed presence—though he still looked youthful by Namekian standards.

After a brief reunion, Gohan began to introduce Luya.

"I've been watching Earth closely," Dende said kindly, "and I know Luya bears no ill will toward our planet. Welcome, Luya."

Luya smiled gently. "Thank you, Dende. You've truly grown into your role. The title of Earth's Guardian suits you well."

Dende blinked in surprise. "Huh? How do you know so much about me?"

He looked at Gohan, who shrugged with a sheepish smile. "I don't remember mentioning Dende to him either…"

Luya brushed it off with a polite nod. After exchanging pleasantries, he got to the point. "May I enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train?"

Dende nodded. "Of course. Mr. Popo will take you there."

Right on cue, Mr. Popo floated over. "Please, follow me."

Luya gave Gohan a nod and followed Mr. Popo silently.

Gohan watched him go, a small smile forming on his face.

"Gohan, don't you think he's a bit… mysterious?" Dende asked, brows furrowed.

Gohan paused, then replied, "I guess so. He said he's a Saiyan from another universe."

Dende stared. "And you believed him?"

Gohan laughed. "Honestly? It doesn't matter that much to me. As long as he means no harm. And if he does, I'll deal with him myself."

Dende sighed. "Alright. I'll leave it to you. But what about Frieza? He's been resurrected, hasn't he? Have Goku and Vegeta checked in yet?"

Gohan shook his head. "Dad and Vegeta are training with Lord Beerus and Whis. We can't reach them."

Dende's face turned serious. "Frieza's strength has grown immensely. You may not be able to stop him alone."

Gohan nodded, expression solemn. "All I can do now is train harder."

"You should enter the Time Chamber too," Dende said. "With your potential, you'd improve immensely."

Gohan laughed lightly. "Nah. I've had enough of that place for now."

Dende: "…"

Meanwhile, Luya had arrived at the entrance of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

"This room can only be used for two Earth days per person," Mr. Popo explained. "One day outside equals a full year inside. The gravity has been increased from 10 to 50 times Earth's gravity. You must keep track of your time carefully—if you exceed it, the door may close permanently."

Luya nodded. "Understood."

Mr. Popo opened the chamber door. "Then go ahead."

Luya stepped in without hesitation.

Ding! Mission complete: 'Enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train'

Reward: +100,000,000 Power Level

Reward: Ultimate Saiyan Talent Unlocked!

Reward: Kaioken (No upper limit)!

As the door closed behind him, Luya grinned.

This system was incredible. Simple missions with massive rewards. With this kind of support, wouldn't surpassing Goku and the others be a matter of time?

No… That was too small of a dream. He needed to start with a manageable goal first—

Surpass the God of Earth.
