Magnolia Town
Cana walked through the streets of Magnolia.
The town was brighter than usual, dressed in streamers and bustling with stalls being set up for the upcoming Harvest Festival. Music played faintly in the background, and the smell of roasted chestnuts drifted through the air.
But Cana didn't feel festive.
It had nearly been a year since Shanks left on his mission. He hadn't returned. The only solace was the letter he had sent with the job money. Two letters, actually—one for her, and one for Makarov.
"Do you want something to eat?" Cana turned to see Makarov walking beside her, hands clasped behind his back, trying his best to keep the youngest member of the guild from feeling alone.
Cana shook her head. "No... I'm okay."
Makarov nodded quietly, his eyes on the road ahead.
They walked in silence, passing familiar shops and friendly faces. The town buzzed with excitement, but Cana's heart just wasn't in it.
"…Cana, I want you to lead the Fantasia Parade," Makarov said gently.
"Huh?" Cana blinked, caught off guard.
He looked up at her, kind but serious. "I want you to lead the Fantasia Parade this year."
"Are you sure? My magic's pretty boring for the para -"
"Oh, hush now. Go to the guild and tell Clira to start the rehearsals."
Cana sighed but nodded. Clira, the black-haired bar lady, would definitely get things moving fast.
"Alright, Gramps. If that's what you want."
Just as she was about to dash off, Makarov stopped her.
"Here, take these." He handed her a small pack of gummies, smiling.
"Hehe. Thanks, Gramps." Cana smiled back and ran toward the guild.
Makarov walked around Magnolia. The festive environment placed a smile on his face.

Somewhere
The darkness was alive.
It slithered across the underground chamber and at the edge of the chamber, there was something...No a - someone bind to a large pillar that glowed in dark color.
A figure was chained to a large pillar. It was clad in black robe from bottom to top. Even its face was not visible.
"Devil. Your time has come." The figure spoke. It's voice nether male nor female. It was a mix of both. An unnatural and creepy mix.
As soon as the figure spoke. A magic circle materialized in thin air and figure walk through. He appeared to be a man wearing a Goat's Mask. It looked to be very lifelike. Its horns jagged in an unnatural way.
"So, you have located it?"
The figure called as Devil asked. Its voice was also unnatural. The man hanged upside down to the pillar remained silent, but his silence spoke the words.
"To think we would wake up so soon." Devi muttered to itself.
"It's onlyus. Those damn Gods." The figure hanging on the pillar said.
"I will be taking my leave now but where is the sacrifice located?"
"It's in the eastern part - It is called Ishgar nowadays." The figure spoke and continued. "The sacrifice is a human girl."
"Alright. Take care, Hanged Man."

Cacti Town
Shanks walked through the busy streets going to the Train Station. He had grown incredibly over the past year. At just thirteen his height already reached 6'2.
He wore a simple white loose-fitting shirt with the top few buttons undone. He also wore knee length dark pants and a black boot. Completing his look was a long dark cape, draped over his shoulder.
He also had strapped a saber with a green hilt on his hips but the most standout trait he had along with his red hair were the three scars across his left eye.
'Home..' Shanks thought as he boarded the train. A smile on his face.
