Chapter 2 - Welcome to My Dungeon, Noobs

Suzuki stood in the boss room, her eyes narrowing as she watched the adventurer party approach through the narrow hallway leading to the outside world. The bronze emblems on their chests told her everything she needed to know—they were nothing but newbie adventurers.

"These rookies think they can just waltz into my dungeon?" she muttered, her voice dripping with disdain.

"Well, they've got another thing coming!"

With a smirk, she activated Edit Terrain and transformed half of the boss room's floor into a slick, water-covered trap.

"First tip for creating a tough dungeon—make it as gimmicky as possible,"

she chuckled, hands on her hips as she surveyed her work.

"Let's see how they handle this."

The adventuring party stepped into the boss room, instantly caught off guard by the water covering the floor. The fighter, leading the group, slipped and staggered as he tried to regain his footing.

"What the…?" he muttered, eyes widening in confusion.

"Oh, come on, really? I thought these guys were supposed to be tougher!" Suzuki chuckled.

"It's a trap! Fall back, everyone!" the fighter shouted, but before he could even react, the ceiling spike trap crashed down with a loud clank.

"Don't get distracted now!" Suzuki called out, watching with delight as the party scrambled at the attack.

The archer, a sharp-eyed elf, narrowed her gaze at Suzuki and notched an arrow.

"I've got you, Luke!" she said, firing three arrows in rapid succession.

But before the arrows could hit, the goblin tank stepped forward, his large shield deflecting each one with ease. The arrows ricocheted off, harmlessly clattering against the walls.

"Good job, buddy," Suzuki murmured, grinning. "You might be a walking joke, but you're my walking joke."

"Tsk…" The archer clicked her tongue in frustration.

"I can't pierce that shield!"

Just then, the party's wizard stepped up, his hands glowing with arcane energy.

"Stand back, Irene!" he warned, raising his hand toward Suzuki.

"Fireball!" he shouted, and a ball of flame hurtled toward her with alarming speed.

Suzuki's eyes widened in surprise.

"Okay… now that's a problem!"

Without thinking, she instinctively threw her arms up to shield herself.

There was a deafening BOOM, followed by a wave of heat. Suzuki gasped as the explosion rocked the room, the force knocking her back.

"Eeeek!" she screamed as she braced for the worst.

When the smoke cleared, she blinked in confusion.

"What… how am I alive?"

She looked around, her gaze falling on the charred remains of the goblin tank, reduced to a blackened husk.

[Monster Lost: Goblin Fighter (Tank)]

Suzuki stood frozen for a moment, staring at the remains of her now-dead goblin.

"…Well, that was unexpected."

"But no time to be surprised, Goblin Shaman! Use Water Gun!"

Suzuki commanded, her tone almost playful—like she was ordering a Pokémon.

The Goblin Shaman, as if trained for the job, danced around before summoning a powerful stream of water that shot straight at the adventurers, dealing no damage whatsoever.

The Fighter, Luke, gritted his teeth and quickly stood up, chugging a red potion—a healing potion probably.

"A humanoid dungeon boss, huh?" Luke said, wiping his mouth. "Guess I'll get serious for my first dungeon raid!"

With a determined grin, he activated his skill, glowing green with a surge of energy.

"Minor Defense Boost!"

Suzuki raised an eyebrow, trying her hardest to stifle a laugh.

"Ohhh, really~?" she said, amused. "Shaman, give 'em a little spark."

She pointed at the water pooling beneath the adventurers. The Goblin Shaman eagerly complied, casting Lightning Bolt directly into the surface.

The moment the bolt hit the water, the adventurers' bodies jerked violently as the electricity surged through them.

"Agghh!"

Their screams rang out in unison as the water conducted the electric current, each adventurer convulsing in agony.

[Dungeon Boss Passive Activated: Emotional Suppression 73%]

Suzuki glanced at the system panel, then back at the adventurers, still twitching from the electric shock.

"Well… that's nifty." She forced a nervous chuckle, her hands tightening at her sides.

"Time to end this!"

With a swift motion, she pointed at the struggling adventurers.

"Slimes! Deal the final blow!"

The five green slimes surged forward, their gelatinous bodies slamming into the adventurers with surprising force, their viscous liquid mass crashing against the stunned party members and dealing devastating damage.

The three adventurers, overwhelmed and unable to defend themselves, collapsed to the floor, lifeless. The slimes, having done their job, returned to their positions with the same wobbling, unbothered nature as before.

[Dungeon Boss Passive Activated: Emotional Suppression 100%]

Suzuki wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead, panting slightly.

"Damn, I'm glad that's a passive..." she muttered, feeling the weight of the battle finally catch up to her.

Suzuki wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead, the adrenaline from the battle still rushing through her veins. She couldn't help but chuckle at how easy it was.

"Guess I did overprepare a little,"

she muttered, looking at the wreckage of the adventurers—well, what was left of them.

"But hey, they still made it interesting."

As Suzuki reached out to inspect the adventurers' corpses, the electricity in the room faded, leaving an eerie silence behind.

Suddenly, the system panel reappeared in front of her.

[Absorbing: Adventurer Bodies (Bronze) 3x]

"Huh…?" she muttered in confusion.

The panel shifted, updating with new information.

With a triumphant grin, she jumped into the air, her excitement practically radiating from her.

"One step closer to becoming an overpowered isekai protagonist! Here I come!"

"Wait… how am I supposed to get food here? And—"

Her eyes darted around the boss room.

"Where did the adventurer's loot go?!"
