"Uh Xuan! Uh Xuan! So sweet, Xuan! Uh Xuan!"
Accompanying the words of the beautiful white-haired girl of the Son of Heaven's Sect, the girls beside her all laughed at her hilarious jokes that Xuan, sitting on the mud, didn't find funny.
Maybe it was because he was the one being laughed at by beautiful girls.
"That's how you expect who to moan? Me? You crippled, filthy thing of an excuse for a human," Li Zhi cursed, clenching her teeth in anger.
Earlier, Xuan had the guts to walk up to someone as pretty as her and told her he'd like to practice the dual cultivation technique with her.
She found someone like Xuan so disgusting, especially given the fact that he was crippled.
Dual cultivation was a famous technique passed down from generations. It involved the state of a woman and man undressing themselves and cultivating using their bodies.
With intense dual cultivation, a male would produce a yin which, when released inside a woman, would nourish her meridian womb.
The meridian absorbs the yin and, after some days, the woman's body begins to see changes, and the man undergoes a shaking breakthrough, depending on how intense they cultivated.
So for someone like Xuan to make things intense would be like an elephant trying to milk a cow, but Xuan's situation was far worse.
He was crippled, and his yin meridians would be rusted, out of use, leaving him stuck at one point in cultivation. He couldn't progress further.
But Xuan came across a book that said if he cultivated well with a woman who had good experience in dual cultivation, his meridians could be repaired—but he wouldn't immediately start walking.
Xuan couldn't think of anybody better than Li Zhi. He had seen her around a couple of times with men who paid her for it.
But when he decided to pay her, what did Li Zhi do? She picked his money and pushed him into the mud behind Xuan's sect's yard.
When he tried explaining to her about the book and his chances of walking again, she and her friends laughed uncontrollably.
"A cripple would always be a cripple, Xuan. Books like that are meant to give you hopes so you can buy them."
"Come on, Li Zhi, let's not waste our time."
Xuan couldn't believe his eyes. Li Zhi was walking away with his money without offering her body—she was crippling his dream right in front of him.
"Is this how I'll end? Crippled for life and unable to cultivate shit?" Xuan cursed.
After letting the silent tears roll down his eyes, Xuan promised to collect his money back, but first, he had something important to do.
Of course, he could just live his life as a cripple and die, but no—Xuan wants to enjoy life to the fullest. And on top of that, one needed to cultivate in this world of monsters and gods.
There were other means of cultivation to grow stronger, but it would take half his lifespan. And even as a cripple with broken meridians, normal cultivating was out of the picture.
It was after the dual cultivating technique was discovered that earth-shaking breakthroughs began happening, and women fell in love with their body even more.
So, normal cultivation has lost its worth incredibly. Xuan was an infamous library boy who spent every day reading to find ways of curing his meridian. Maybe he could be the next to discover another taboo technique.
Xuan walked back to his sect with his loyal stick. He was looking very dirty, unlike any other day.
He was living with his uncle, with three stepdaughters and a beautiful wife. But lucky for Xuan today, no one was outside—or maybe even in the compound.
Not seeing that even the sect members were missing, Xuan concluded that the library sect must have gone out for a sect hunt or something. They never tell him anything.
After Xuan took his bath, he felt refreshed, then put on his black robe. As he sat on his bed, he saw the book that made Li Zhi make a mockery of him.
"Stupid book. This shit played the biggest role in my humiliation."
Xuan picked the book and gripped it so hard that swollen veins appeared in his arm. He was about to toss it away but calmed himself.
"I better return this before Uncle Han gets home," Xuan sighed and walked out of the compound.
The library sect was known for their vast knowledge and keepers of forgotten cultivation techniques. Well, the previous owners were smart.
Uncle Han just wanted to make enough money, and his wife wanted to look sexy. His daughters didn't care about anything but themselves, so Xuan was the keeper of the library—technically the cleaner as well.
The library was located just a few blocks after the sect, so it didn't take Xuan much time to get there.
As Xuan opened the door of the library, he felt something different but didn't mind that. He gripped the book and dropped it off.
"Ah, so that's what I thought I sensed. What's this cube doing here?" Xuan saw an unusual red cube on top of the table on his way out.
"Except Uncle Han, who else has the keys? No one, of course. So how did this get here?" Xuan was puzzled. No one ever tells him anything.
He reached out for the purple cube, and the moment he touched it, Xuan was zapped from where he was into another library.
He could tell the difference—the differences were too big to miss. This library looked as if Xuan were in space.
He could see the stars, a purple blood moon which was odd and the shelves all floating steadily.
Xuan was definitely in space, where books were arranged properly on the shelves. And apart from that, the same purple cube that zapped him here was at the table far from him.
"What—? Did that thing send me here? Stupid question. Of course, it definitely did. I got here the next moment I touched it."
"Its weird that I'm not panicking"
Then, a soothing voice of a female welcomed him. Xuan was startled and looked around, asking who said that, but the voice replied, saying it was called the system.
And it was responsible for Xuan's calm mind, making sure he didn't panick as if he had been here before.
"The system?"
"Yes, Xuan. I am the system and assistant to the library master of the Corrupted Library of Taboo Techniques."
"Taboo Techniques?" Xuan quickly asked. He was walking shelf by shelf and admiring how the books were perfectly made, and the intricate designs on them.
The system carried on by saying the library Xuan was in was the one which the gods had forbidden and had hidden only taboo cultivation techniques that could rival gods.
Xuan was going to ask why the gods would do such things, but it was obvious they didn't want anybody else to be like them.
"Is there any book you'd like me to find for you?"
"Hmm, well... Do you have a book that explains how to heal my legs? I'm crippled," said Xuan, ashamed of the last words.
"This library has multiple techniques, but all are taboos only, Master Xuan."
"What do you mean by taboos, anyway?" Xuan asked. Then, an explicit image of him and a beautiful girl appeared in the vast stars of the library.
"Taboo techniques are referred to as sex cultivation techniques."
