Chapter 2 - CH2. Dr. Tsubasa's men

The only light in the room came from the glowing computer screens, his gaze was focused on the screen, his chair swiveled slightly as he heard a ding from his computer. A soft chime pulled his attention. Glancing to the side, he noticed a new message, taking his attention from a document he opened the message, which had some quirk registrations attached.

His gaze sharpened as his eyes looked over all the documents he was sent. Clicking through them with practiced indifference, he stopped at the sight of a highlighted document and moved the page to his main screen, he carefully read the document. '5 year old Kochiya Seicho, effortless use of quirk, mutant, emitter?? Quirk: Osteokinesis (bone manipulation), Special Notes: seems to feel something isn't right, needs more information from workers… pay close attention'.

He thought for a bit leaning back on his chair, he interlaced his fingers with a thoughtful hum. His gaze was calculating, cold. He looked at another screen to his right of the document he was working on, 'AFO: Tomura Shigaraki', he sighed as he closed all the quirk register documents and went back to his problem at hand.

'I don't have the time to have another thing to worry about' he thought, his fingers continuing to race across his keyboard as he worked. 'Perhaps AFO would be interested. This one has potential'

"Now that we have our quirks ready, we can really play hero, Sei-chan" Kyoko giggled, bouncing around Seicho.

Kyoko's quirk had also somewhat upgraded, her reptile like quirk was more raptor like, or so she insisted. The two of them stood ready on a hidden part of the playground since the workers began forbidding the use of quirks after some incidents.

"Are you sure this is a good idea, Kyo-chan? I don't want to hurt you" she said worriedly. Her eyes looked over the distance where the other kids were playing. She made slight eye contact with a worker which made her hide and look away quickly.

Kyoko took a proud heroic stance, with hands on her hips she spoke, "you underestimate me villain! Heroes always win!"

Seicho could barely hold back a laugh. "I'll show you how wrong you are, hero", her stance shifted, lower, more efficient, like someone trained to fight, even if it was pure instinct.

They looked at each other, Kyoko was smiling and goofy as ever, while Seicho looked serious, and she attacked. Trying to not draw attention she didn't go all out, but it was still enough, swinging her arm forward, bones sprouted from her bony hand, they moved and broke, twisting and cracking as they tore towards Kyoko.

Kyoko activated her quirk. Her mouth lengthened and her teeth sharpened. She grew taller, stronger. Her legs tensed, claws forming as her tail swung wildly. She moved sideways, dodging the bones coming at her, she sprinted forward and with a subtle jump she rotated her body enough for a tail swipe.

Raising her arm Seicho's bones sprouted uncontrolled spikes, sprouted again, trying to pierce anything in its path, Seicho's face became grim as she used more power than she wanted. Kyoko twisted in the air. Her tail smashing on the ground launching her to the side. Kyoko looked at the mess Seicho created, her bones slowly retracting and forming into her skin.

"You're as ruthless as ever, villain" Kyoko remarked "I'll make sure to stop your reign of terror!"

Seicho in return just turned slowly at Kyoko, the bones were already retracted, and her arms were faint marks of the damage the bones made when coming out. She widened her stance and charged towards Kyoko, who in return started to zigzag her way to Seicho.

As they were about to clash again a sharp noise interrupted them. "Seicho! Kyoko! You're both grounded! Come over here this instant!" A worker who noticed the commotion said, her face red with anger.

Kyoko was able to stop in time, drawing her tail on the ground to steady herself, but Seicho wasn't so lucky. With her hand already extended, her face turned towards the worker as her quirk activated, bones sprouted from her hand uncontrollably and when she noticed she tried to move her hand. the bones started to churn and twist as Seicho tried to control them, the ground opened as the bones dug themselves stopping shortly after.

The worker looked at both girls with slight disgust, 'mutants' she thought. She marched at both of them and grabbed their ears, twisting them and making Seicho and Kyoko whimper in pain. She walked inside the orphanage with both girls in tow.

As the kids left, another worker looked around the battle rident part of the playground, the loose dirt in the air, the jagged marks on the ground, the broken soil and abused ground showed how dangerous their quirks were. 'How are these kids already this good with their quirk, it's too weird' the worker thought, so he took out his phone and started to call someone.

In a stark white room, a man sat alone in a tall swivel chair, his gaze fixed on a massive screen that stretched across the wall. He leaned back slightly, fingertips touching, creating a tent with his hands, lost in thought. But a chime pulled him from his silence, a message flashed across the screen.

"This thing again," he muttered, annoyed. He skimmed the beginning with little interest, but his eyes narrowed, though, as he kept reading. 'Still no response from AFO' but something in the message made him pause.

He opened Seicho's quirk registry once more. Her profile lit up the screen: Kochiya Seicho. Osteokinesis. High potential. Mutant Emitter?

His lips curled into a thin smile. "Even if it doesn't work…" he whispered, "…it can always be fixed." His fingers raced across his keyboard.

'You're going to be the perfect experiment.' His eyes gleamed as he leaned back, the glow of the monitor painting his face in sterile white.

The doors busted open, the kids lined up in front of it flinched in fear, the same men as before entered the building, always eyeing the children as if they were just quirks. Seicho herself did everything she could to not look at the men eyeing her up, she shivered as she felt a gaze.

Her eyes slowly moved to the door. She looked at the man leading the others and just as she saw him he turned and made eye contact with her. Seicho froze beneath the intense gaze of the man, her hands shaking and sweat dripping, Kyoko looked at Seicho and with a worried look grabbed Seicho's hand.

"Sei-chan, are you alright?" Kyoko asked, worried.

Seichan snapped back to reality moving her gaze to Kyoko, she breathed steadily taking deep breaths. "Y-Yea, I'm ok now Kyo-chan" she smiled at Kyoko but was interrupted by her name being called.

With a forced smile and slightly shaky hands, a worker called out to Seicho, "C-Congratulations Seicho, y-you were adopted by a fine family…" The worker grasped her own hands to try to stop the shaking, "…please follow these men so they can take you to your new family."

Seicho's eyes widened, and her shaking started again, not even with Kyoko holding her hand. Her breathing seemed agitated, but no one seemed to notice. Everything on her body called out to her, to try to escape to not trust these men.

"W-Wow Sei-chan you're getting adopted!" Kyoko said, eyes wide with excitement. She bounced on her toes, unaware of the way Seicho's hand trembled in hers.

A man came over to Seicho, parting the kids in two as they moved to the side, their gazes were filled with jealousy, "why is the mutant getting adopted" some muttered, "at least the freak is leaving." The man forcefully took her hand. It felt cold, unwelcoming, he didn't even look at Seicho as he started walking to the entrance.

Seicho's world started to collapse around her, the whispers, the gazes. She looked at the workers, some covered their mouths, others smiled with satisfaction, but no one helped. She started to resist, her quirk working automatically, her grabbed arm twisted slightly, patches of bone covering entirely, noticing she made everything possible for bone not to sprout knowing she would be able to control it after it did.

"W-wait, I don't wanna go, I want to stay here, I like it here" but Seicho's pleas fell on deaf ears. She looks at the kids finding Kyoko in the mix, their eyes locked, Seicho seemed to beg for help from Kyoko, but she could only stand frozen in fear. "Please" Seicho mouthed, her breath leaving her body as she neared the door, but Kyoko only looked away grimly, pretending not to hear.

She resisted once more trying to grab something but only finding air, she tried to break free but without her quirk she was defenseless. She looked back at the only home she had ever known… the cold hallways, the indifferent workers, the kids who whispered when they thought she couldn't hear. Seicho looked at her only friend, the one always playing the hero. But today, she wasn't moving. Wasn't acting. Wasn't saving her.

She finally crossed the doors with no more strength. She was simply dragged outside, she looked at the cold man dragging her and finally let her quirk act on its own. It was wild. She closed her eyes and finally stopped holding it back.

Bones sprouted rapidly, the sound of them braking and twisting filled the air, the man holding her was quickly impaled. He moved far enough not to die, but his hand and arm were practically gone.

"What the fuck! You mutant bitch!" the man spurted out in anger.

The others jumped immediately into action trying to restrain her. A man threw himself to her back, he restrained her arms. Seicho clenched her jaw as her arms were twisted and restrained her bones came back, and the bone patches moved to her back, and she released them.

The bones sprouted fast and efficiently skewering the man on her back but that also meant he was stuck holding her. She caught a man moving towards her, a needle in hand afraid she curled as much as she could into a ball. The patches on her skin seemed to multiply as they covered her completely, and then it started. Broken, jagged and fast moving bones sprouted from every point on her skin, the men were obligated to take a step back to avoid being impaled.

Her breathing turned ragged as the bones kept bursting from her skin, impaling everything in their path. She couldn't hold it any longer, and they came back to her as quickly as they moved out. Leaving her trembling and drenched in sweat. This being the first time going all out hasn't prepared her body for this much abuse. The sound of grinding bones sounded as she moved, her bony skin struggling to move fluidly. Finally released from their grasp she stood cautiously.

She stood surrounded, panting, as the men stared without moving. They knew she had nothing left. As she was trying to brainstorm a way to escape she felt her body being wrapped around by some scarf thing. Yelping in surprise Seicho tried to use her quirk again only to summon a weak, pitiful sprout of bone.

Before she could think of another tactic she was sedated by another man, knocking her out immediately. Before everything went black, she saw their faces. Blank, unflinching, indifferent. Just another job.

'So this is how monsters are made, huh?' she thought. Her limp body fell on the ground and the bones recalled to her body.

The man filled with bloody holes stood up staggering slightly as he tried to hold his insides in place. His body shifted as the wounds rapidly closed. The other man whose arm was torn off finally finished regenerating it back. They quickly took Seicho and moved her to the car, not forgetting to restrain her heavily.
