Chapter 1: Systems Reborn, Powers Awakened
Dawn broke over the crystalline plains, casting long shards of light across the jagged mountains in the distance. The air shimmered with latent magic, as if the world itself were stretching from a long slumber—new, raw, and humming with potential.
Rimuru stirred beneath a cloak of woven mana threads, still absorbing the surreal reality of his and Joshua's rebirth. The familiar voice echoed once more in his mind, cold, analytical, and oddly comforting.
[Great Sage: SYSTEM INITIALIZING… SYNCHRONIZATION: 84%… UNIQUE SKILL "GREAT SAGE" RETAINED. UPGRADE POSSIBLE.]
"Still with me, huh?" Rimuru murmured aloud, stretching. He could feel it—his body wasn't what it used to be. It was lighter, more fluid, as if made of thought and will rather than muscle and bone. The slime form remained dormant within, but this new world had rewritten its structure. He was something more now.
Not far away, Joshua sat cross-legged, a gentle breeze fluttering the edges of his cloak. His silver-white hair glowed faintly in the morning sun, a stark contrast to the dark markings tracing down one side of his face—veins of demonic magic pulsing beneath pale skin. His wings, still materializing at will, flickered—one ethereal and feathered, the other draconic and cloaked in shadow.
Joshua's system activated without ceremony—an interface that looked wildly different from Rimuru's. Lines of celestial runes and infernal glyphs formed a dual ring in front of him.
[Divine System: ACTIVE]
[Trait – Dual Genesis: The Named Shall Reflect the Soul]
[Unique Skill Acquired: Nomen Dominion]
> The act of naming infuses a being or object with traits derived from your divine and infernal lineage. Traits scale with your intent and will.
He blinked. "So… anything I name, I shape. Not just its name, but its nature."
Rimuru walked over, arms crossed. "Looks like you've got a cheat code, huh?"
Joshua smirked faintly. "You're not one to talk. I've already felt your aura fluctuate three times in the last hour. You're syncing with the system again."
"Fair," Rimuru chuckled. "Great Sage is evolving. This world's energy is feeding into it. There's something different here—no rigid skill classifications like before. Everything's more… fluid."
He wasn't exaggerating.
[Great Sage: Compatible Energies Detected. Suggesting Skill Evolution Path: MERGE WITH SYSTEMIC CORE.]
[Permission to initiate fusion sequence: Y/N]
Rimuru narrowed his eyes. "Fusion? What's the Systemic Core?"
[A universal framework embedded in this world. Origin unknown. Offers adaptive potential beyond original skill tree limitations.]
Rimuru hesitated, then gave a confident nod. "Do it."
[Fusion Commencing… Estimated Duration: 90 seconds]
His body convulsed slightly as the world blurred around him. The system peeled open like layered code, and he saw it—lines of raw data and magical architecture intertwining. The Great Sage, once merely a guide, now drank in knowledge and energy like a black hole.
And then…
[Fusion Complete. Great Sage has evolved into: Ultimate Skill "Architect of Infinity – Logos."]
[Features: Thought Acceleration, Skill Creation, World Analysis, Reality Thread Manipulation, Autonomous Defense, Instant Parallel Command.]
Rimuru's eyes glowed. "Whoa…"
Joshua stood slowly, watching his brother with growing amusement. "So, what, you just became your own system admin?"
"Something like that," Rimuru said, flexing his fingers. With a thought, he conjured a small sphere of water, then turned it to fire, then crystallized it into solid steel—all without chanting. "No delays. I can alter elemental threads directly. It's like rewriting reality on a low level."
Joshua nodded thoughtfully. "Then it's time I see what my skill really does."
He turned to a patch of wild, untamed forest nearby. With a breath, he raised his hand and spoke:
"Name: Solgrass."
A cluster of green stalks shimmered and twisted before erupting with new growth. The blades hardened, now edged with silver and glowing with warmth. Rimuru scanned it with Logos.
[Analysis: "Solgrass" has absorbed angelic traits – Light Affinity, Photosynthetic Regeneration, Purification Field.]
Joshua took another breath. "And now…"
"Name: Noctthorn."
A shadow swept through the ground. Another plant emerged nearby—jagged, obsidian-black vines with a subtle red shimmer. The very air around it chilled slightly.
[Analysis: "Noctthorn" has absorbed demonic traits – Darkness Affinity, Mana Drain, Entropic Spores.]
Rimuru whistled. "So… you can literally rewrite biology by naming it?"
Joshua nodded. "Not just that. I feel their essence. I choose what side—angelic or demonic—dominates, or even balance them. If I name a person, I can enhance them. Name a spell, I can alter its effects. It's not about what something is, it's about what I declare it to be."
Rimuru rubbed his chin. "Then your power is language-based reality manipulation… filtered through dual affinity. That's OP even by my standards."
But Joshua wasn't done.
He clenched his fist and spoke again.
"Name: Sancteon."
A shimmering orb formed between his hands—part spell, part construct. Inside it swirled energy from both sides of his soul. Holy sigils and demonic glyphs spiraled around one another in perfect symmetry.
"I think… this is a summon," Joshua said.
The orb burst into light, revealing a humanoid creature clad in radiant white and obsidian-black armor. It knelt before Joshua, speaking in a voice like two harmonizing choirs:
"I am Sancteon, Warden of Dual Judgement. By your will, I serve."
Rimuru laughed, awed. "Oh we're so broken."
[Logos: Confirmed. Probability of defeat by existing regional powers: 0.2%. Recommend establishment of base of operations to begin influence expansion.]
Rimuru smirked. "Looks like we're starting from the top this time."
Joshua's eyes burned with ambition. "We'll build a new nation—one that reflects balance. No bias, no hierarchy of species. Whether demon, angel, human, or beastkin, all can rise. If I name them… I can lift them."
Rimuru nodded. "And I'll make sure the foundation can't be broken."
They turned toward the valley ahead—untouched, wild, and thrumming with life and potential.
"Let's call it…" Rimuru began, looking at Joshua with a grin.
Joshua finished for him. "The Celestial Dominion."
At that moment, the world shifted—subtly, imperceptibly—acknowledging the birth of something monumental.
The divine siblings, armed with absurd power and a second chance, stepped forward.
Their story had only just begun.
