Chapter 3 - You're now a god

In this world where anyone can become a god, nothing is truly strange—including what's happening now.

"Ding dong—you've received a new message. Sender: 'The Last Believer of [###]'."

At this moment, the entire world received a message—an explosive letter about a certain god.

"A letter? What the hell is this? Some new phishing scam?"

"Who's this 'Felix' it's addressed to?"

"Why is he explaining 's ascension to me? Half of this isn't even recorded in history!"

"The sender's such a cryptic bastard—who's this 'Him' he keeps mentioning?"

"So 's past was this tragic..."

Online and offline, people buzzed with speculation, all intrigued by the sudden, mysterious letter. Some were even sharpening their pens, ready to write analytical essays.

"Wait, this is for me?"

Standing on the street, his golden hair fluttering in the wind, Felix was about to open the letter addressed to him—when suddenly, everything went black.

.

.

.

"Where... am I?"

When Felix awoke, he found himself in a space so dark he couldn't see his own hands. The last thing he remembered was finishing the letter—then collapsing.

Suddenly, a voice, neither wholly male nor female, echoed from the void:

"Felix, my poor child... It's been so long. I never imagined your fate would be usurped like this."

The voice belonged to a stranger, now murmuring words of longing.

Felix stiffened. "Who are you?"

"You've read that madman's letter—the one penned by your last believer. You're here because of him." The stranger explained patiently.

"Wait... so I'm dead?" Felix couldn't process it.

"Yes. And now, only he can answer your questions." With a wave of the stranger's hand, a man materialized beside them.

Clad in white priestly robes, his hair silver-white, the man stared at Felix with trembling fervor.

"I finally see you again, ! Do you know how much I've missed you?!"

The "priest" clutched Felix's hands as if beholding a long-lost treasure.

"Ahem. Aaron, focus." The mysterious figure sighed.

", listen closely. Soon, you'll meet , and your journey to reclaim your memories will begin."

"Remember—do not trust him too deeply. Do not trust anyone. Not even us."

"What... does that mean?"

Felix was utterly lost. Why would a priest warn him against trusting "that one"—or anyone?

"Time is short. This is all I can say. The rest... you must change fate yourself—"

"Wait, explain—"

Before Felix could hear more, his consciousness slipped away again.

This time, he awoke under an endless sky of blue and white.

He lay on what felt like a cool, liquid surface—yet his clothes remained dry. His head throbbed, the pain dragging him toward clarity.

As his vision cleared, his first sight was a man in a tailored suit, his face veiled, a radiant blue halo floating above his head.

It was Felix's first time seeing someone with a halo. Squinting, he tried to peer past the veil—but the man's features stayed obscured.

"Done staring, newcomer? You're making me blush."

The man's sudden remark startled Felix.

"S-sorry! That was rude." Felix looked away, swallowing hard. There was something unnervingly familiar about him.

"I am . You know me well, I presume."

Felix froze. "You... you're really that one?"

His voice failed him. The man's appearance—it matched the statues in the temples exactly.

"Correct. I'm the god you worship. And you must be full of questions."

"Due to... unforeseen circumstances, you're now a god."

"What?! I'm a god now?!"

The revelation struck Felix like lightning.

"But more importantly—do you remember your own name?" asked, his tone loaded.

"I... I'm... Wait, why can't I remember anything?!"

Panic surged as Felix realized his past was gone.

"The memory loss is expected."

"As you know, you died after reading that letter—an unnatural death. Clearly, someone tampered with you. Hence, your missing past."

shrugged, as if discussing the weather.

The onslaught of information left Felix's mind reeling.

"Then... is there any way to get my memories back?"

What was the point of godhood without the journey? Without his memories, his entire life felt like a hollow shell.

"Memories are vital to a god. I can help you recover them—but I don't work for free."

With a snap of 's fingers, two chairs materialized behind them.

"Consider this a welcome gift for your ascension."

"'Felix'—that's your name. Want the rest? Let's make a deal."

He lounged in his chair, smirking as Felix hesitated.

"All you need to do is boost my power—use your [Divine Authority] to return to the past and create another 'me.' In exchange, you get your memories back."

The offer hung in the air. Felix stared at the chair behind him—the symbol of acceptance.

To agree... or not?
