Chapter 1 - Prologue

There are times that we wish our dreams were our reality, and there are also times when we wish reality was just a dream. To the point where we just believe what we just want to believe and confuse ourselves between our mere imagination and our real life circumstances, until we bacame prisoners of our own mind, living in a world we build for our own selfish satisfaction.

"If then, what would you do if the reality you believed in all along was just a dream?"

I can't help but mutter outloud that one sentence from the book I've been reading. I have been always fond of reading this kind of stuffs. Things that would make me wonder about the things in life that we had believe in.

"I will do anything to make it all happen in reality."

Just then, a soft voice sounded in full assurance and confidence replied. I looked backed at her and asked jokingly, "Even if you dreamed of unicorns and dragons?"

"Well, If you put it that way, of course it's impossible." she replied laughing.

"What are you even reading?"

I showed her the book and she read it out loud. "The dream where I met you?"

"Yeah it's a great story. You should read this next when I finished it." I told her. She then sat down beside me and handed me a cup of coffee. "Then let me borrow it after you've finished it." she said after taking a sip from her cup. She then focused herself in her laptop to continue on her work.

Still, my eyes remained glued upon her. I can't help but stare--- a beauty, with short black hair, lush long lashes and fair skin. Despite being a girl herself, her sharp jaws gave her a slight tinge of masculinity. She wore a white buttoned up shirt and a black pants, giving her that clean but imposing apparance.

She looked back at me and gave me a small, sweet smile. Her rosy lips curved upwards and her eyes drew into a crescent. Her black eyes staring with raised eyebrows asking what's wrong.

I shook my head lightly answering nothing, then returned back to reading. She also returned back to what she's doing with a slight helpless smile.

After quite some time, while reading I can't help but also think, what if this is also a dream. The current life I'm living in right now was just a dream while I'm asleep. What if Alicia, my beloved, was just also a beautiful dream that I'm having? Will everything disappear once I wake up?

Timingly, as I returned my focus in the book, I happen to be at near the final pages of it. A tear slowly dropped from my eyes after reading the last passage of the paragraph.

'She is just but a beautiful dream I had and would just remain as a beautiful dream. Never to touch reality but would remain in my heart for eternity.' It read. It is so heart-wrenching. Thinking that the ending had ended tragically like that. My nose can't help but to turn sour and tears rolled down my cheeks.

Alicia looked and peered at me in panic asking what is wrong. I wiped the tears from my eyes and shook my head lightly, "Their story is so tragic." I commented. "What if we're also in a dream too"? I said my thoughts out loud.

Alicia cupped my face in her hands and looked at me lovingly. "I told you if we were in a dream, then if someday we woke up, I'll do everything just to make this dream come true in reality too. And My Love, it's just a story it won't happen in real." Gently, she replied. I calmed myself down and believed her. "Then you must find me in reality too, okay?" laughing lightly at my childishness she nodded her head like coaxing a child.
