Both hayato and lan entered qince village . as they made their way through they couldn't help but feel as if they were alone in the village . they passed by many houses lit by torches and yet they failed to notice any presence .
"Why does it feel like nobody is in this village ?" hayato remarked .
lan did not reply and ran to the right side as if she noticed something
"Quick , come here" lan said slowly .
hayato did as she said . hayato notice a huge crowd of people surrounding a green haired girl .
"Could these be the villagers ?"
"Maybe but look at that old man , he seems someone important"
hayato looked around and saw a fragile looking old man sitting in a chair holding a stick with a skeleton attached to it .
"Now what , you have left our children to die and there is no bringing them back from the beur's cave" the green haired girl looked down almost as if she's in regret "as per the rules of this village the one who kills shall get killed" as the old man said that all of the men among the crowd took their spears and started walking towards the young lady . hayato could sense their intention was to kill her .
hayato made a quick jump and landed besides her and shouted "Wind blade" a strong gust of wind quickly threw displaced all the men
'hmm..my wind blade is not as powerful as i thought it should be' even though hayato only used a little amount of his mana he felt as if his attacks had gotten weaker .
"Magic , magic this guy can use magic . he's a wizard" one of the men shouted . all the woman and children backed themselves into a corner while the men took out their weapons and were ready to attack again .
"You lot don't stand a chance" lan said loudly as she came near hayato . the meed looked at each other in disbelief after hearing that .
"Are you alright now" hayato aksed the green haired girl .
"Y-y-y-esss" the gril stuttered while answering.
"What are young wizards like you doing in this remote village?" the old man stood up from his chair and came near hayato.
"That we will explain later , tell us first what were you going to do to her" hayato asked
"To kill her of course" the old man looked at her with pure anger "This woman...pfft....this woman basically left one of our children to die at the hands of a beur"
Hayato looked at the girl in confusion "Wait let me explain" the girl stood up and pleaded to explain her situation .
"My name is lexi , iam a journalist from water base and Iam comming back from a long journey so I took the chance to rest here at qince village . Today evening when I was just reading a book at my inn one of the children came to me and aksed one question"

"Sis , aren't you leaving tomorrow"
"Yes , lily" lexi replied to lily
"Then you should come with me , I will show you some amazing place with the best scenery in qince village . You should see them at least once before you leave"
***flashback ends***
"And so lily took me to some places , however on our way back a giant beur attacked us and took lily"
"A beur huh" lan remarked .
A beur was a wild monster with the features of a pig and bear and generally stood tall around 400 - 500 cm tall .
"The beur most probably took lily to it's cave . We know the location of the beur our men are far too weak to handle a beast such as the beur and so we can do nothing to prevent lily's death so we must kill lexi as she was with lily when the beur attacked"
"But what was i even supposed to do !" Lexi argued "I am not a fighter"
"I can understand the pain of villagers but killing lexi is not going to do anything in this situation" lan said
"Now that we are here , how about I go check on the beur's cave and try to save lily while i still can" hayato said .
"You..can you really defeat a beur ?" The old man's eyes widened with hope .
"I think I should be able to" hayato responded .
"I see then I will tell you where the beur's cave is" the old man said
"But going alone is..." before lexi could continue what she was saying lan put her hands on her shoulder and said "Don't worry hayato will be enough"
And with that hayato was now on his way to defeat a beur .
