Chapter 1 - New World

Windsong Online is a phenomenon MMORPG game that has caught many gamer's hearts around the world. It's been 10 years since its first release in 2037. With total active players reaching 120 millions, till the day, the fanbase is still thriving despite its flaws. The developers team works hard for what they believe to please them. Many people play with different styles, from casual to competitive. This game also shows the aspects which keep the gaming experience like no other. If this genre are always dragged as a typical online game to flex their gears to newbies and just focus on paid features without a genuine sense of playing, well, in this case, Windsong is aware.

This game, although called MMORPG, it's actually pretty much still keeps its pure nature as a proper RPG, where gameplay and story are compelling. It has extensive lore which is always updating in the next patch, making the game feel alive and not dead because of P2W aspect where people focus on PvP gameplay because they don't know what to do anymore. So, if someone pretty much wants to just play the game to follow the story, it's a big yes because in this game, grinding is balanced with reasonable growth system for character even though as an F2P player since some people just want to enjoy the game's true quality. But of course there is always a gap between spender and free player.

Because of those aspects, all gamers from various range since a teenager to an adult, have their own perspective and reaction towards it. Modern gamers called this a great experience for making a truly brilliant movement in a field where this typical game died or boring, while old-school may still see this kind of game as a waste, but they are somehow enjoying it because of some content. Since it was RPG, of course it has classes that can be customized into whatever player's play styles. Windsong introduces 10 classes: Warrior, Rogue, Sorcerer, Cleric, Bard, Ranger, Artisan, Alchemist, Monk and Hunter. Not only that, players also will choose two different classes that will create a unique mechanic called hybrid class, which is a new advance class that was formed by choosing two base classes. So in total they had three different classes with different set of abilities. Offering freedom to players with endless possibilities.

A TV sat down on the family's room table, chattering from its lousy old speaker, but still clear enough to be heard. It talks about the current weather that will turn into a storm in a matter of time. There, a man sitting on the couch, reading his book. The sound he made from flipping pages contested the faint hum of basement's laundry. Sometimes he moves his hand adjusting the eyeglasses. In the kitchen, next to it, another noise happened. It was a woman, moving back and forth, meticulously assessing her domains. She is currently preparing dinner for her family, her hands move gracefully and composed towards colorful ingredients. Then she holds a knife with a firm grip, cutting and chopping them all. A small thump lingered in the air for a while.

Finished with those, she moved again and stood in front of the sizzling pan where a small drop of hot oil jumped out and hit her hand, but remained unfazed. It's normal though. Then she clenched the panhandle, sways it to make sure the food gets cooked well. Back to the living room, next to the TV position which is located next to the stairs, a room filled with another noise. It appears a young adult who is alone playing his game inside. The room is not that big, a single bed is placed on the right side, in front of it there's a small bookshelf hanging on the wall, next to the bed a complete setup of the PC standing with its vibrant color. He sat on the chair, put his face close to the monitor as he was focusing on something. Sometimes his legs kick the table out of excitement.

"When that kid will grow up." A man on the couch said, shook his head and sigh. While keeping his focus on the book despite the TV is on.

"Dinner's ready!" A woman shouted. While she is still organized the food and cutlery. By the time she does that, rain can be heard from outside and it's getting bigger. Followed by strong wind. Looks like the news predicts it just in time.

"Dandy! Come down and eat your dinner!" She shouted again, calling his son who's busy inside his room.

"Yeah! Just wait a bit, alright?" He shouted back. "Come on, man, I already finished my college assignment, and my job, can't I have my me time?" He muttered under his breath.

Then he proceeded to touch the game's shop where players usually bought limited time offers. The items vary from equipment to consumables. "This is the best time in my life, because today is my payday, hahaha."

Clicking sounds filled the void as he bought a set of equipment called Set of Dominion. "Hell yeah! Finally, I got it!" He happily smiled at the screen and wore the equipment immediately. "Damn, this is the sickest looking armor I've ever seen."

He approached his friend who was idly standing on the city's main square. The square was truly busy, hustle and bustle is never ending. His nickname is Magnar Elyxander, it actually has three names on it, but Dandy decided to erase the last one, and his race was human.

"Yo, bro, check this out, I already bought it." He speaks through his cheap mic to his friends.

"Damn, bruh. I can see it tho. How much?" The player with warrior character and lion-beastkin race appearance with nickname—Arlan, asked.

"Almost 50 bucks."

"Really? That's pretty expensive."

"Yeah I know but it's cool tho, I've longing for this one."

"Really, dude? Almost 50 but you got that mid stats equipment?" A player in support character appearance resembles an elf race with nickname—Feyn, interrupted.

"What do you mean by "mid?" It's good, dude."

"Aight, whatever. Can we go to the raid right now? There's an item I wish to get." Arlan said.

"Aight, let's go." Dandy said.

He sets his raid party which only consists of three players: him as main damage dealer while Arlan as the tank, and Feyn as support.

They proceed to the high level dungeon where only players with level 90 or above could get inside. Thankfully Dandy and his friends were trio 100. But, despite that, they still struggle to reach the top 10 global rankings where it is filled with maximum level players with level cap reaching from level 120-150. As for Dandy he stuck at rank 13. The game's scenery was always crowded, filled with unique looking players with tons of different classes. The newbie is looking for a new team or just playing as a lone wolf, the rankers always perform PvP to climb the highest throne, the PKer always seeking for bloodshed and bully others who are weaker than them.

Once inside the dungeon they cleave their way immediately. It only took them a few minutes after dealing with enemies and finally facing the boss. The boss is truly dangerous and giving them a good fight, thankfully the support was top notch and effectively using his skills. The warrior's health and defense is truly an unmoving fortress as he gets buff. While Dandy with his character, deals massive damage using his melee and magic fighting style since he chooses warrior and sorcerer classes combination. Nonetheless, he is known to be a top magic user player in the server. After 7 minutes of gruelling battle, they won. The chest appears. Containing legendary, even artifact level items.

"Damn! That's really cool, I'll take the Tyrant's Grip." Dandy said excitedly.

"I think I'll take the legendary robe, it'll boost my stats." Feyn took his part.

As for Arlan, he's frustrated not getting what he wanted, the chance is simply small and not on his favor.

"Damnit! It's been the third raid and I still don't get it. Stupid." He snarls.

"Chill, dude, next time will be." Dandy said, try to calm his friend.

"Hm... alright then. Let's get out of here."

Just about to go out, they were suddenly intercepted by a group of players consisting of five people. They are having the same banner under them, assuming they were a guild. And it turns out they are truly a guild, but not a good one. It's the Bloodsplitter group. Infamous for their PK activity especially targeting those who just got back from raid to take their items away. And unfortunately they're not a mere killers, they're in range of 80-100 levels.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? Hehehe!" A rogue looking player resembles a dark elf race snickered.

"Get ready, guys! We will have a feast tonight, hahaha!" A massive player with a warrior--demon race appearance said.

"Damn, how do we get out of here now." Feyn said.

"Well, we have no other choice but to fight!" Arlan replied. Prepared his stance.

"You guys, ready? It doesn't look like we have many options right now." Dandy said.

Both parties now prepared their stance then launched at each other's throat with their strangest ability. Each delivers a devastating blow, ripping apart their hit point. Weaker member of enemy's party dead and left them with 3 vs 3 which statistically equal. As for Dandy as his group, so far, they did great for holding their assault but no without consequences. Feyn seems to grow tired and his mana's depleted really fast. Arlan health couldn't keep up for another high tier skills, as for Dandy, he may still stand alone but weakened by debuff.

"Surrender, fools! No use fighting us, you soon shall know nothing but despair, hahaha!"

The sorcerer looking enemy that is an undead race mocked them.

"To hell with you! If you want it, then you have to take it!" Dandy replied.

"Arrogant, idiot. Let me finish you right now." The warrior enemy said.

Prepared his final blow to Dandy and his group.

"Here we go..." Feyn said.

In despair as he incapable of doing anything again.

Meanwhile, Dandy, too, preparing his ultimate skill to match the enemy, hoping that it would kill them.

"Come on! Bring it on!"

Dandy shouted then leaped to the enemy with his left arm which equipped with newfound weapon imbued with deadly energy magic.

"Hahaha! Die, you fool!"

The enemy also leaped at him. His great axe was also imbued with dark magic which could easily deny magical armor.

Both characters about to meet in tremendous duel. But, suddenly, Dandy's mother shouted for the second time.

"Dandy, you damn kid! Eat your dinner and shut that computer. There's a storm outside, do you want to get electrocuted!?"

"Just a few minutes!" Dandy replied.

His face sweating, his hands trembling, his heart throbbing faster almost getting out of rib. It's a duel of life and death. If he loses, then it's an end for everything. 8 years of grinding this game, he has poured his soul, sweat and money to become one of the strongest players within the game though it is still far compared to the whale spender.

"Why won't you die, damnit!!!" Dandy screamed out of frustration, seeing the enemy still standing although they suffered his overwhelmed attack.

But suddenly, a storm growing bigger and louder. Without any warning, a strong thunder struck perfectly towards his room. Its destructive flash exactly hit his computer. Dandy, shocked, unable to do much to avoid it, he's about to jump out of his chair but fell instead to the ground, made a loud thump. The explosion was inevitable as he engulfed within the light and raised his arms wrapping his head with it.

The blast generate deafening disturbance as his surroundings wreck in havoc. There, he sees nothing but blinded with white light, but he can hear things, he can feel his surroundings. But it's different. It's full of tranquility and flowing wind walk pass his body. Slowly but sure, he open his eyes, the bright start diminished. He sees nothing like his room—it's a vast green land within the forest. The sun radiates the world as the blue sky spread into the horizon.

"Where am I..." He muttered, unbelievably.

Seconds ago he was inside his house, then lightning cause a terrible accident that leads him to this another world. It's unlike the reality he ever see, but the layout is surely familiar. Perhaps... is it Windsong Online?

His mind swirled over millions thoughts, hoping that one can answer this anomaly, sadly there's no one that could. But, he just let it go for now, it's best to adapt to this new place.

When he started to walk, weird feelings linger on his body. It's not usually he able to see the view this great, he's not that tall. He falls his gaze and see what's below him. His eyes widened, his appearance is not himself, it's his character. He completely clads in new equipment that he just bought earlier.

"What the hell! What's this! What happened to me?!" He exclaimed, hitched his breath.

Then rush into nearby water source and see himself in reflection. It's not him that he knows, it's completely his character that he created when first playing the game.

He now appears as a man clad in black obsidian and radiant gold armor, fusing regality and warlike might. The breastplate embedded a large crimson jewel in a gold frame, and trimmed with gold color. Its surrounding was carved by serpent who surrounded the jewel and its entirety. For the abdominal part, it was crafted to six-pack torso. As for pauldrons, the left one appears normal with golden intricate designs, but the other shaped like eagle's head with its beak slightly opened. His waist armor (tassel & fauld) part is combination of leather and chain, layered like ancient warlord gear, completed with a belt that has a sculpture of snarling dragon's head. For below part, knee guards, the left one: a face twisted in fury while other is neutral, cold and calculated. For the last part is greaves, that beautifully crafted with golden filigree cravings.

As for the headpiece, following the Set of Dominion. He wear a gold crown that is engraved with faintly glowing runes containing arcane power. To finish the looks, he also wear a grand, flowing cloak of deep crimson that clasped with gold chains. With this look, he exuding raw power, majesty and authority. No wonder why he aimed this for so long despite people critique about it's decent effects. And it appears that he's not small or short anymore but towering behemoth because one of the set of dominion buff. The only human part that is visible is his head area.

Now it resembles a tan man with a strong jawline, his eyes not normal anymore but it mimics an eclipse with sharp gaze, the same thing happened to his hair, it turned into flowing crimson mane. Yet despite all of it, he still struggle to understand and control his new body.

"Damn... but, I look cool tho" He muttered.

Unsure with his condition so he decided to take a venture in this new journey.
