Chapter 2 - Trial

---Unique Memory---

[Name: Zero]

[Singularity: Recoil] [You can manipulate the time to return to the position you were 2 seconds ago.]

[Own World: ???]

---Visible 1 Time---

Kaiser or now Zero, didn't pay attention to the man in front of him. That strange screen that he only read about in web novels, was before his eyes.

Kaiser gulped, baffled about this situation, he still didn't believe this was happening. 'This is a bad joke…'

Looking with hesitation at the short but unique screen, Kaiser read all the information that was there. Even though he has a singularity that he has to pay attention to, the thing that took it was that this information was visible only one time.

'Why I only can read this one time?' he wondered.

But suddenly, that screen began to vanish. Kaiser nervously tried to read the singularity content, it was his unique salvation.

The man in front of him frowned angrily. "You're not going to take the opportunity we gave you?"

Kaiser, returning his attention to the man responded:

"I'm taking that opportunity".

The confidence in his response was big enough to make that man surprise. After all, what can do the worst in this academy? Letting out a sigh, the man turned around.

"Follow me".

Kaiser, with doubtful steps, followed him.

'It is good that I gained a singularity, something that it seems that in the past I hadn't. But how I'm going to use it?'

The doubt in his steps disappeared, now he was focused on his thoughts.

The first and most clear thing was that he had somehow been transmigrated to this world, he didn't forget about that strange scene that he had passed in his bedroom. An emaciated and long hand caught his head and dragged it into the inside of the monitor. That's the only way for him to get here.

The second and most important thing is that this world is extremely similar to the game Path of the Emperor; the Slayer Academy, singularities…

'Shit!!'

Kaiser grabbed his head in disappointment. He has transmigrated to the last world he wanted to, the game that took so much time from him and at the same time the game that humiliated him for two whole years.

Not only that, but after transmigrating this world still put him in difficulties.

"Pay attention". The gross voice of the man, made Kaiser turn his attention forward.

A big and decorated door began to slowly open. The red tapestry in it, decorated with golden flower designs was simply beautiful. Kaiser was so lost in the beauty of the surroundings that he didn't pay attention to it.

After the door completely opened, both of them began to walk to the interior. Kaiser still looked at the surroundings, which were incredibly beautiful too.

The white walls of marble were slightly decorated with gold in the corners. In the ceiling was an enormous cupule completely gold with a candelabrum that illuminated the whole room with his strange white fire.

At the back of the room, it can be seen a long table at which six people were sitting. Those six people have a very strong appearance and were looking at Kaiser with disgust.

Kaiser didn't know why they had a clear disgust on their faces after seeing him. He knew little things about the world of this game but because he didn't finish the obligatory tutorial the real story of this game is uncertain for him.

The corpulent man guided Kaiser to the center of the room and left. At first, he was happy that he had a singularity, this trial was going to be easy, that's what he thought.

His singularity is truly rare and truly useless in his actual situation. Going back two seconds, in battle is great but, what happens if it's not a battle trial?

'Clearly, they don't want a battle trial…' he thought, gritting his teeth.

Zero was known in the academy for his perseverance. He trained every day, even knowing that his body was slowly deteriorating. Taking his life at the end.

The end of Zero was sad, he fought all his life to get a singularity, but he only got it when he died and couldn't enjoy it.

That's the reason for Kaiser's thought. It is practically impossible that they make a battle trial when Zero is a specialist, even a genius of battle. The academy doesn't want him anymore.

From the little things that Kaiser knew about this game, one thing was that the Academy of Slayers was exclusively tough with its rules. Kaiser didn't know how Zero had even joined the academy but one thing is sure, today is his last day.

'But right now he has a singularity, so why I don't want to use it?'

The body of Kiaser began to tremble, it was not fear, it was the last wish that the real Zero seemed to want.

It was a difficult decision: fulfill his last wish or continue in the academy. Both sides had their good and their bad things.

Making that last wish true was going to let Zero rest in peace, but Kaiser was going to suffer the consequences.

On the other hand, continuing in the academy was going to give him a secure place to live and develop himself, but that wish wasn't going to come true.

"Let's begin the final trial for the student, Zero".

An old man's voice resonated in the room.

Kaiser was still thinking about his decision.

"The trial is going to be easy".

The old man took a short pause, at the same time, the man who guided Kaiser here brought a strange machine.

The machine had a robot appearance, it was very corpulent and was approximately two meters tall, it was covered in a black metal that seemed impossible to break. In the chest, seven small circles made a big circle that in his middle had a strange letter that Kaiser didn't know.

"...You have to beat this using your singularity". A long mocking smile appeared on that old man.

Kaiser was shocked. That metallic armor was impossible to break, or at least for him. He gulped, looking nervously at that imposing robot.

'I don't even have a weapon…'

Kaiser thought, looking desperately at the surroundings, trying to find a way to make time.

The eyes of the robot began to illuminate, and an intense crimson color appeared. At that moment Kaiser knew it, this was not a trial, was his execution.

He slightly glanced at the judges. The cold sweat began to run down his face after seeing that they were standing up.

Contrary to what he thought at the beginning, they weren't trying to help him, they were leaving through the back door. The robot was still in his position.

The sound of the movement of the chairs began to echo in the enormous room and not only that, they were talking like nothing was happening.

After a few moments, they began to pass through the door, the last one was that old man who threw a cold look at Kaiser.

"I hope you enjoy your last moment".

The anger in his words was threatening. Kaiser didn't like that, the thing that he hated the most was making him feel inferior.

Kaiser's doubt disappeared. There was no longer an election; he had to make Zero's wish true, and now, without the presence of the judge, he could do it with no hesitation.

The door finally closed.

Right now, Kaiser has only his fists to destroy that machine, something that is impossible even for someone who trained his whole life. He has to use his singularity with knowledge.

The robot began to move, and the metallic sound of his steps increased the tension in the air. Kaiser also began to walk toward his opponent.

'Come on… There has to be something I can use.'

But after trying to find anything that he can use as a weapon, nothing appeared. The steps of the robot became faster.

In just a few seconds, the machine was already in front of Kaiser. The metallic puch was fastly directed at him.

It was impossible to avoid, but Kaiser used his singularity, hoping that the use was what he thought it would be.

The punch cut through the air and impacted the floor of wood, making a hole in it. Pieces of wood flew in the air.

The robot elevated his metallic fist and after realizing that nothing was there, his crimson eyes trembled as if they glitched.

Slowly turned his gaze in front of him.

Kaiser was perfectly fine in the same place that he was at the beginning. He gulped, not too long ago he was on Earth playing a videogame, and now he is using those fictional powers.

'This is incredible…' he thought.

But he couldn't be surprised now, he was amidst a battle. Letting out a deep sigh, Kaiser began to walk toward the robot.

The machine was upset since one of the small circles in his chest changed color from white to red.

Kaiser's heart started to beat fast. He was having a mix of feelings, fear, surprise, despair, and enthusiasm.

Metallic steps began to resonate once more. This time, the robot didn't even wait, he quickly ran toward Kaiser.

Again, he throws a punch to kill him. Kaiser, instead of avoiding it, approached the machine's body, cutting the range of his arms.

Kaiser was now under the robot, but he couldn't do much, not only because doesn't have a weapon but because the robot bent down hard. Not wanting to use his singularity, Kaiser rolled forward.

It was just one second, but Kaiser felt a sensation coming from his body that moved alone like it knew what he should do.

Kaiser turned around at a high speed and directed an elbow towards the robot. Even knowing that the attack probably wasn't to cause damage, he was enthusiastic about being capable of doing that.

But all that enthusiasm vanished when he was close to completing his attack.

The robot was waiting. His appearance changed, the seven small circles in his chest became red and those crimson eyes disappeared, leaving only a black hole that even there was nothing, Kaiser felt like he was looking directly at him.

His punch was inevitable.
