Chapter 17: Luke Beats Down the Lord of Dawn, Who Delivers the Judgement...?
"Bondrewd-san, could you wait a few minutes first?"
"Ah ah, of course. Being able to come here, I am willing to spend sufficient time waiting and researching."
The Lord of Dawn chose a position about five meters away from Kafka.
After sitting down, strong curiosity drove him to look around.
Following that, came the sound of him talking to himself.
"I was originally in the laboratory..."
"A suddenly appearing door, the Abyss distorted space?"
"It couldn't appear suddenly, there must be a reason."
"An incomprehensible situation, that door connects to this world, perhaps it will unravel more mysteries?"
Listening to Bondrewd's mutterings, Kafka, who was originally admiring the scenery outside the window, cast her gaze over.
The Lord of Dawn, calling himself 'Bondrewd', wore armor resembling black formal wear, his face hidden by a '|' shaped mask, looking quite mysterious.
Kafka, as a Stellaron Hunter, had encountered many peculiar fellows during her voyages across the cosmos.
And now...
Kafka keenly sensed a trace of danger.
She couldn't help but leave her seat and move to the position closest to the kitchen to sit down.
"Luke-san, if you find it hard to refuse that guest, I can help."
Luke, making the sandwich, heard Kafka say this and refused outright.
"No matter, no need to trouble Kafka-san. I can handle it."
"Is that so? Bondrewd-san looks a bit strange, you should pay more attention."
"Of course."
Luke finished speaking and devoted himself wholeheartedly to the cooking.
At this time, Erina, having changed her clothes, returned to the main hall.
She looked at Luke and Kafka, then at the newly arrived and strangely dressed Bondrewd, choosing to sit in the counter area.
"Luke-san, that guest is..."
"A visitor calling himself 'Bondrewd', seems to possess a strong desire for knowledge."
Kafka explained in place of Luke.
Bondrewd...
Desire for knowledge...
Although she grasped this information, Erina was still completely baffled.
However, to her, Bondrewd was just a strange guest; there was no need to understand further.
Luke in the kitchen didn't waste words either, completing Kafka's order with the fastest speed.
Luke, having served the breakfast to the guest, then wiped the water stains from his hands and walked towards Bondrewd who was observing the restaurant.
"Your Excellency must be the owner of the restaurant. If possible..."
Bang!!
A collision sound suddenly rang out.
Kafka narrowed her eyes, Erina widened hers, both staring at the source of the sound.
There, Bondrewd's head was pressed onto the tabletop by Luke, unable to move.
Facing the sudden suppression, the Lord of Dawn was also greatly puzzled.
"Why is this...? Young shop owner, I believe I bear no hostility, merely came here seeking the truth."
"I have no interest in your thoughts, simply want to 'exterminate youkai'."
"Exterminate youkai? Your Excellency jests. I am one who explores the Abyss, entirely different from youkai. If Your Excellency is unwilling to converse..."
Bondrewd raised his arm.
Before this action was completed, the sound of bones shattering was heard.
Bondrewd, intending to use his right arm to attack and break free, noticed the abnormality.
The gaze hidden behind the mask noticed the change in his right arm!
That hand... was broken at a twisted angle, like a fragile piece of handicraft, presenting a state of collapse.
"Why...!"
Surprised by the collapse of his body, Bondrewd attempted to take the next action.
Following that came more cracking sounds.
The 'cartridge pack' on his back inexplicably fell off, and the armor covering his body was also inexplicably pierced.
The power of destruction, penetrating deep into the bone marrow, eroded his entire body along those wound fissures!
"Ahhh!!"
A scream devoid of emotion escaped from Bondrewd's mouth.
"Incomprehensible power... Could this be an illusion of the Abyss?! A phantom mirror devouring us explorers?!"
Bang!!
Bondrewd's helmet was once again pressed against the tabletop, revealing a part of his inhuman face from the cracked area.
Watching the one-sided crushing conflict, Kafka didn't intervene, and Erina merely played the role of a bystander.
Luke doing this must have his reasons.
At least in their eyes, the originally normal shop owner couldn't possibly attack a strange guest directly.
Luke, restraining Bondrewd's movements, glanced at the 'cartridge pack' and commented,
"Your spirit of inquiry is indeed commendable, but the 'effort' expended for it seems laughable in my eyes."
"What exactly... does Your Excellency know..."
"I only have one answer now. You can become one person on my 'permanent blacklist'."
Because there were customers present, Luke didn't continue.
He released his right arm pressing down on Bondrewd, calmly taking a step back.
"This is my restaurant. All your actions will be meaningless. So you sit there first. At least I will prepare a dish for you."
A dish called the 'Last Meal'.
