It took seven days, a full on week for the cold and sickness to leave him.
As he thought, frailer than Lu Ming's body, couldn't even stand a shower without getting sick.
What was surprising though was that Alisha actually listened to the doctor, her ex.
Considering he looked alright, their relationship must have ended normally, even on a good note.
"Are you feeling better?"
He nodded, it was weird, uncharacteristic even. She took care, let him sleep his days away.
Helped him with medicine and even carefully smeared ointment on the injuries she caused.
Wondering slightly how her brain functioned, he looked at her, her eyes staring back intently.
"Are you wondering why?"
With her head now supported by her hand, she drawled out.
"It's easy.
Upon realizing you where sick I ,for a second though, I'll just go fetch another, healthier.
Clearly your too weak to handle even a bit of stimulation."
How was it his fault?
"But then I remembered your nonsense, you speak quite a bit of sentimental words after all.
Even when sick.
It made me wonder growing old together, what does it feel like?
Why would that be a dream of some, of you.
Would it extent to me, if you don't bore me too quickly could you and I grow old together?"
Snorting, he deflected her ridiculous words.
"I would rather pass away."
With a thoughtful expression, she kept on her rambling.
"According to Jacek, anyone could fall in love even with a disaster of a beginning."
His eyebrow rose at the name, unfamiliar as his finger tapped the tea cup. Never once picking up to taste the vibrant texture of what good tea should be.
It could almost be said that they where having a nice afternoon, sun bright above them as wind raked through their hair.
Outside a warm haven as tea and cakes of all sizes decorated the table in between them.
They almost looked like a couple in a nice date in their backyard, if it weren't for a chain still clasped on one of his ankles.
Apparently she had that installed in the garden at some point.
Fresh air was nice and all but after having hands free inside for days, Malachi didn't quite like the weight holding him down.
"The doctor."Ah, weird name."Honestly I didn't even think our meeting was that disastrous?
I saved you from the terrible fate of what you claimed would have happened to your past servants.
If I didn't choose you, you would have been one of those servants."
"You are the one who caused my entire household to be named traitors, causing that to be the result."
"Well, I offered your parents money so I could choose anyone from their ranks.
I heard there were some handsome servants so who am I if I don't even try.
They denied, something about people's life meaning more than pleasure toys.
If I had known you had the same sentimentality, I would have just skipped you altogether."
How flippantly the words left her.
"But you got in my head and now I wonder.
Your parents looked in love when I met them, is that what you meant with grow old together?"
Barely restraining a chuckle, Malachi answered. " If you were anyone else, I would say yes but for you it's Impossible.
Who would want to grow old with you?
A person who caused so much pain, even if unintentionally, wich I don't belief.
Choose?
My parents are right, you can't just choose.
Life isn't just a harmless game you can repeat until you decide to settle down with your last victim.
Because that is what we are.
Malachi Von Westford is a victim of your schemes.
No matter how you and....Jacek ended, it doesn't change the beginning and however the ending between you came across, doesn't signify a better ending between us.
If I could I wouldn't even be here....at all.
Jacek is foolish, you detained me, took what wasn't and would have never been meant for you.
Falling in love?
With you, that's an illness."
Breezes passed, the atmosphere reflecting the intense feel the conversation caused, hair whipping up and down.
"Well then, I guess that's just how it's going to be !"
For a fraction of a second he was stunned, she was way too joyful.
" I always get what I want.
Right now that's you and this growing old together." Het hand reflecteer the words being thrown around as she stood and gleefully embraced him from behind.
Her breath lingering on his neck as she pointed, whispered words in his ear.
"Look, over there."
Malachi did, instinctive outrage colouring his face as there in the mud his parents were forced to work and kneel on hard stones.
They had already know he was there, in the way there eyes glanced over with unveiled gratefulness.
Grateful that he wasn't the one forced to work on his knees.
A wave of familial love came over him, entirely new and like never before as he pushed up.
Chair scraping over the floor as Alisha merely leaped backwards.
"How could you!"
"Be grateful honey, the both them would have been shipped of by now to somewhere where degenerates like them belong.
I saved them, just like I saved you."
"Aarghhh!" With a wave of his hands he pushed all the treats and teas on the ground.
All that could break, broke on dozens of pieces, table following soon as he tried to rip the chain off.
When that didn't work, he launched at Alisha, spoon from his tea in his hand.
"..ggrrr" Straining, his plan to gauge at at least one eye, that he didn't know he had, failed as the chain held on thight.
Malachi couldn't reach her as he succumbed down, spoon clattering and before long getting kicked away by a still smiling Alisha.
It didn't take long before his arms where ripped behind him, making him unable to do anything.
" I knew you wouldn't take the idea well but didn't you go a little overboard?
Your poor parents, they raised you so well and look what you have become."
Flickering sideways, he could see his parents stand there, concerned as quards blocked the way to him.
Their eyes messaging that he should stop, that he should care about his own health and not worry about theirs.
Something akin as a sob mixed with a growl left him.
"Well aren't you a little animal, fiercer than I ever expected it seems."
She regarded the destruction, broken shards everywhere.
"Your parents will have to work for that as it's their fault they raised you so badly."
With venom in his eyes, he hissed, a warning she didn't bother with all that much.
Though the quards did, lowering him by his arms closer to the ground.
"Well, now that we're finished with the discussions, I will declare the end result.
You and I" Her finger pointed closely to his face. "Will grow old together.!"
{System's update almost complete.}
What update?
{Synchronisation with memories and feelings had improved.
You will be able to feel the previous owners sentiment to others.
Act accordingly.
Last fase commencing, prepare for black out.}
Groaning, he accepted his fate, he may have the review his stance on that as he kept going back and forth.
Black spots greeted him as he loosened his muscled and forced the tenseness away.
So the reason he reacted so badly on well his parents being forced to work was because he could feel the original feelings more intently.
