The next morning, Yor woke up early. The sun was just rising over Sector 12, and the training ground behind Pice's house was quiet. Yor stood there alone, holding his sword tightly. His eyes were filled with focus.
He had reached Swordsmanship Level 3 Mid, but it still didn't feel like enough.
He kept training, swinging his sword again and again. Sweat rolled down his face, but he didn't stop. He wanted to become stronger—not for fame, but to protect the people he loved.
But something was bothering him.
"How did I level up?" Yor asked himself. "And where did the Luolo Level 4 monster core go?"
He didn't remember absorbing the core. It just disappeared. That confused him.
He sat down and focused on the mana in his body. But then something shocked him. His mana, which was always blue, had now turned purple.
"What's going on…?"
He quickly asked Pice, who had just come back from his daily patrol.
Pice looked surprised. "Purple mana? That's really rare. Mana has different types. For example, a fire user's mana is red. Yours… it might be poison. But I've never seen that before."
Yor didn't tell Pice one important thing: his mana changed from blue to purple, and… he could switch it back to blue whenever he wanted. He also discovered he could hide his mana completely, so no one could feel it.
After Pice left again to patrol outside the sector, Yor kept testing his mana. He wanted to know what this purple mana could do.
Later that day, he heard about a place called Stadium of Warriors. It was a famous arena in Sector 12 where warriors fought monsters. It was run by the Grid family, a strong warrior family. They were a branch family, not the main one, so they were only Level 4, but still respected.
That day, something rare happened. The young master of the main Grid family had come to watch the arena. He was bored and wanted to see how the branch family was doing.
At the arena, one monster had become famous: Rikat, a strong Level 4 monster that no one had defeated. He was about 6 feet tall, very heavy, with super strong defense. His speed was normal, but his power was scary. He could even turn invisible, and he had some intelligence, unlike normal monsters.
Many people had died trying to defeat it, but the prize for winning was huge: a Level 5 cursed sword that gave +35% agility, +20% attack, and a 50% higher chance of a critical hit. But the sword was cursed—it could only be used by someone above Level 6, and no one had reached that level yet in that sector 12.
The main family didn't want the sword, so they used it as a reward to gather attention.
Yor didn't care about the prize. He only wanted to test himself—and the power of his new mana. So, he walked up and accepted the challenge without hesitation.
Everyone laughed.
"Haha, kid, go to sleep!" "You think it's easy?" "You're only Level 3!"
Even the crowd made fun of him. But the young master didn't laugh. He was curious. A genius himself, he wanted to see what this masked boy could do.
Yor wore a cloak and a mask to hide his identity, so no one would bother him later.
The match began.
As the monster growled and vanished, most people panicked—but not Yor. He had mastered his senses, and even though Rikat turned invisible, Yor could still feel where he was.
The monster attacked from the side.
Slash!
Yor's blade cut into Rikat. The monster was smart enough to step back, but it was still hit. Yor pushed some purple mana into his sword—and something strange happened.
The monster's speed dropped.
Slowly… slower… and then it fell.
After 15 minutes, Yor defeated it.
The crowd went silent.
Yor looked at his sword. "So… this is what my mana can do. I'll never use it on a human in a spar."
The Grid branch family was shocked. They accused him of cheating, and some people in the crowd, jealous of his strength, shouted lies. But the young master stepped in.
He saw the truth.
"This person… can become my greatest ally in the future."
He defended Yor, gave him the prize, and invited him to talk in private.
Away from the crowd, Yor removed his mask. He knew it was better to be friends with this young master than enemies.
"I'm Yor. From Sector 13."
"I'm Gris. From the main Grid family in the Royal Sector," the young man replied.
They smiled and shook hands.
That evening, Yor returned to Pice's house in Sector 12. No one knew who the powerful masked warrior was, so they gave him a new name:
The Unknown Warrior.
And just like that, Yor became famous—the first person to ever kill Rikat, the unbeatable monster.
