Chapter 24 - Can you tell me… how did it feel?

"It was yesterday," Sofia rushed on. " It's begun from one of Samantha's ridiculous parties. We were drunk. Samantha was pushing her large butt against Roy, and… it just spiraled."

Jieun stared, the blood draining from her cheeks.

Sofia held her breath and hurriedly said. "It was only once!"

Jieun's voice came out low, strained. "That's… insane."

"I know."

Silence settled like a weight between them.

Then Jieun spoke, her voice barely above a whisper, weighed down by guilt. She didn't want to hurt her friend—but she couldn't keep it in any longer.

"You were honest… so I'll be honest too."

Sofia looked up slowly.

Jieun took a long, slow sip. "I think Hanato slept with my stepmother."

Sofia's jaw fell open. "What?!"

Park Jieun said flatly, "She married my dad when I was twenty-two. She's only ten years older than me. And something's been off. The way they avoid eye contact, the weird tension—it's been eating at me. I've been gaslighting myself for years. But a month ago… I found them. In the closet. I saw everything. The full scene, like some AV movie. And tonight, I guess I'm just… done pretending."

Sofia blinked. "Jesus, Jieun."

Jieun let out a dry laugh. "Yeah. Jesus. That bitch surely had seduce Hanato and that bastard had surely couldn't keep his dick in his pants."

Sofia's voice softened feel sorry for her friend. "I'm so sorry."

"I guess we both married men we don't fully know."

Sofia looked down at her lap. Her hands were trembling. She felt embarrassed hearing Sofia claim."There's one more thing."

Jieun turned to her, cautious but past the point of caring, now that her own secret was out. Her voice was soft, curious.

"What is it?"

Sofia's throat worked around the words. Her mind was in mess. She's know that she shouldn't be saying this but she couldn't help as she blurted out. "I slept with Renard."

Park Jieun recoiled felt like a electricity run through her body as heard naive and cute looking Sofia. "Samantha's Renard?"

Sofia nodded, her voice barely above a whisper.

"It was before the thing with Roy and Samantha. I was angry. I thought Roy was cheating—at Samantha's party, she was grinding on him in the pool like they were already lovers. And Renard was there too, standing out on the balcony. I was a storm inside. Drunk. Jealous. Hurt. One thing led to another... and we just... happened."

Jieun stared, silent and stunned. She had thought her own marriage was the messiest of them all, but hearing Sofia's truth made her realize—— there were far more tangled, chaotic lives than just her own.

Sofia continued, the words tumbling out now.

"A week later, the truth came out. Samantha and Roy found out about it. And somehow, instead of it breaking us all apart, it turned into this… twisted punishment."

Jieun blinked. "What do you mean?"

"They made it into a game. Renard was told to stay home and wait for his wife. As he would be anxious when would his wife come home. While I had to sit and watch Samantha and Roy have sex. I watched my husband—my Roy—fuck her. And then… I joined them."

Jieun's mouth parted, speechless.

"Yesterday," Sofia said hoarsely, "it happened . Roy slept with both of us. Me and Samantha. Together."

Jieun looked away, her lips pressed into a thin line. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had always seen Sofia as sweet, maybe even a little naive—but never in a million years had she imagined this kind of chaos hidden beneath her friend's soft smile

"I never told anyone. I've buried it deep. But it's haunted me."

Outside, laughter from the balcony filtered in, distant and unaware.

Inside, the air was thick with revelation.

Jieun leaned her head back against the couch, staring at the ceiling.

Sofia noticed the shift—the way Jieun's shoulders tensed, the way her eyes seemed to harden though she wouldn't look her way.

"I know," Sofia said quietly, curling her fingers around her glass.

"I don't expect you to understand. Hell, I don't even understand it myself."

Jieun exhaled, slow and tight. "It's not about understanding. It's just... I didn't think this was you. Any of it."

Sofia gave a bitter smile. "Neither did I. But pain makes you do stupid things. Loneliness too. And that night... I felt both. In all the worst ways."

Sofia told her friend all this because, deep down, a part of her didn't want Jieun to make the same mistakes she had. She wanted Jieun to face her problems head-on, not run from them like she once did

Jieun finally looked at her, something unreadable flickering in her eyes. "And now?"

"Now?" Sofia paused. "Now I just feel the weight of it. All the time."

" You slept with Samantha's husband and your husband. And I'm sitting here wondering if mine still loved me at all."

"I'm sorry," Sofia whispered. "I don't expect you to forgive me. I just... couldn't keep lying anymore. And if telling you helps you make sense of your own mess, then maybe it was worth it."

Park Jieun finally looked at her feeling her friend is really good to her. "I think tonight's going to change everything."

Sofia nodded, tears welling in her eyes. "It already has."

And outside, under the soft moonlight, Roy and Hanato stood side by side—oblivious to the unraveling storm behind the glass.

Jieun looked back at the couch and asked, "Can you tell me… how did it feel?"

Sofia looked confused. "What do you mean, how did it feel?"

"I mean, when Renard did it with you… was it different?"

She had asked this out of curiosity because she had never with anyone except for Sudou Hanato. She had dated him about four years before marrying him.

Hearing this, Sofia felt deeply embarrassed and guilty. She couldn't help recalled how Renard was like a beast that night and how had stretch her open. Her face, already flushed from the wine, turned even redder.

She opened her mouth slightly, unsure how to respond. It was such an awkward and shameful thing to admit. How could she share such embarrassing thing.

Park jieun noticed Sofia's hesitation and saw how uncomfortable she was. It was clear Sofia had only ever confessed the one time—and not this—and now she was struggling with the shame.

Sofia finally said. Her face flushed like a tomato, "Don't ask… please such embarrassing thing"

Jieun couldn't help but smile a little. When she saw how her face turned red. She couldn't help pat Sofia head. "I'm sorry, I was just… curious. You looked so cute blushing, Sofia"
