Chapter 10 - Beyond Types: The Wuxia SF Philosophy of Jang Wonyoung

Chapter 1. The Battle of the MBTI Matrix

[4D Space-Time]

Leo and Wonhyung were walking together — when suddenly, the sky split open, and a middle-aged man appeared before them.

Leo: Who are you?

Galton: I am Francis Galton. The creator of MBTI.

Leo: Oh, so you're the one who categorized human beings like Pokémon cards?

Galton: Humans hate chaos. That's why I gave them order. You want to be classified.

Leo: Don't force people into categories.

Galton: I've been designing human systems for a long time. I observed, analyzed, and classified your kind.

Leo: No — you just played with humans like toys.

Galton: Order prevents chaos. MBTI, personality types — it's all part of a psychological system designed to manage humans efficiently.

Leo: MBTI is loosely based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types. But even Jung never called it science. Later, Myers and Briggs simplified it for commercial use.

Galton: Myers and Briggs were my disciples. But their roots lie with me.

Leo: The real problem with MBTI is that it tries to define a human being using ambiguous terms. The brain likes language that explains itself — but MBTI is nothing more than hypnosis saying, "This is who you are."

Galton: People use MBTI to understand themselves, build relationships, form communities! MBTI is modern magic language.

Leo: MBTI uses four binary variables to create 16 types. But the human brain is a hyperdimensional probability system with 86 billion neurons and 100 trillion synapses. Trying to compress that into 4 bits is like trying to stuff a quantum system into eight tiny boxes.

Galton: The brain may be complex, but humans always need simplification to understand each other. Like how a map isn't the real terrain, but still useful.

Leo: But brainwaves vibrate in real-time. A single person can resonate with multiple MBTI types simultaneously. MBTI is just a static snapshot — it can't capture that flow.

Galton: MBTI doesn't claim to be a fixed essence — it's just about recurring patterns.

Leo: Emotions and logic cross paths depending on the ratio of neurotransmitters. MBTI can't read those streams.

Galton: Your bizarre speech patterns suggest error symptoms. You're a bug in the MBTI Matrix. But that bug will soon be fixed.

Leo: So you see humans as bugs now? Are you even human? Where did you come from?

Galton: I come from the 5th dimension — a higher dimension than your 4D world. You cannot defeat me.

Leo: 5D? And all you did was create MBTI up there? That's... not very impressive.

Galton: You may think you're beyond MBTI, but I can still categorize you. From now on, you will be defined by me — and thus, the error will be corrected.

(At that moment, Wonhyung, who had been quietly observing, stepped forward.)

Wonhyung: Really? Then guess my MBTI!

Galton: Oh, Wonhyung! The famous idol of the 4D space-time. You're ENTJ — bold, imaginative, a natural problem-solver, with strong willpower. That's why you became a successful idol.

Wonhyung: Oh wow, you're totally my type! Let's be friends! No, let's be family! But hey... what if we're not in this universe but living inside an ant's universe? Isn't that crazy?

Galton: Wait, what? Sociable, creative, eccentric ideas? That's totally ENFP. No wonder people love you. Yes, you're ENFP!

Wonhyung: I could prove you're wrong — but I don't really see the point. Just because the masses believe something doesn't make it true. Data and logic matter more.

Galton: Ah, I see now. Calm, critical thinking, logical attitude... your real dream was to become a lawyer. Yes, you're INTJ!

Wonhyung: Whoa, you're amazing! I just got goosebumps! Look — that's how you catch people's attention! Try it!

Galton: What the — wait... expressive, dramatic, stage genius? You're totally ESFP!

Wonhyung: But why should I do that? Is there any proof that's the correct way? Everyone's doing it? Fascinating — but that's not a rational reason.

Galton: Ha... now you reveal your true colors. Always questioning, analyzing, skeptical of convention and authority. That's why you became such a unique idol. Yes, you're INTP! You can't fool me anymore!

Wonhyung: I knew you could do it! I believed in you!

Galton: Wait!! That bold attitude, problem-solving mindset... ENTJ again?! So I was right the first time, and you were just pretending!

Wonhyung: Oh wow, you're totally my type! Let's be friends! No, let's be family!

Galton: Again ENFP?! How did we end up back here?

Wonhyung: That's called infinite recursion, you fool!!

Galton: No way... have you grasped the cosmic principle of the Möbius strip — infinite recursion of the universe?

Galton realized that Wonhyung's inner power had already transcended the 4D space-time.

With a bitter smile, Galton said:

"Wonhyung, your inner energy already peers beyond humanity, gazing into the divine. But don't think you've broken the Matrix just because you've shattered MBTI. Humans endlessly crave to trap themselves within frameworks. In the past it was astrology, then blood types, and now MBTI.

Even if MBTI disappears, humans will create yet another standard to classify and type themselves.

That unchanging desire — that's the true essence of the Matrix."

And just like that, Galton vanished into thin air.

Chapter 2. The One Who Transcended All Types

Like a shadowy wind, Wonhyung stood there.

In her hand was the Formless Sword — a blade unlike any other.

It had no shape. It cut through both light and darkness. It pierced through all things beyond matter.

Leo, panting heavily, approached her.

Leo: (in awe) Incredible… to cut down a 5D master like that…!

Wonhyung: (sheathing her sword) "Form" is nothing but an illusion. How could someone trapped within a framework ever defeat me?

Leo: (smiling faintly) I've spent my life trying to break the Matrix of Form...But you severed its essence in a single stroke.

Wonhyung: You are the one who perceives the Matrix.I am the one who transcends it. That is the difference between us.

Leo: Then... even my attempt to break the Matrix was itself part of the Matrix?

Wonhyung: The moment you try to break free, you define yourself within it.Humans want to know who they are — but in doing so, they trap themselves within limited frames.

Leo: Then... are you the only one who truly transcended the Matrix?

Wonhyung: "Above heaven and below heaven, I alone am supreme!"Hahahahahaha!

Chapter 3. The Library of Observation, 5D Space-Time

It was a place where the flow of time unfolded like an endless bookshelf.

Siddhartha Gautama sat quietly, flipping through a page where Leo and Wonhyung were walking together.

Beside him, an old man with a white beard was sipping wine.

Socrates: MBTI was originally used during the wars of the 20th century — a tool for categorizing women and assigning them roles in the wartime industry. They didn't care about depth of character — only utility.

Siddhartha: The irony is that the MBTI, created to categorize women in war, is now hugely popular among young women in Korea.

Socrates: But that Wonhyung girl… she has realized the principle of cosmic recursion.

Siddhartha: She has stepped outside the Matrix. She questions herself, but she is not bound by the answers.

Socrates: That's why I always ask — "Do you know yourself?"Most people are too afraid to even try answering that.

Siddhartha: Meanwhile, Leo still walks the path of struggle. He believes he has broken the Matrix, yet does not realize that even that thought is another Matrix.

(After a quiet sip of tea, the two philosophers turn their gaze to another page — the man who once sought to control humanity through categorization: Francis Galton.)

Socrates: Galton... he still tries to force humans into boxes.

Siddhartha: A tragic thing indeed. Even after reaching the 5th dimension, he chose control over the expansion of consciousness.

Socrates: The 5th dimension is not a destination — it is a mirror. What you see there is not the universe — it is yourself.

Siddhartha: Thus he proves that even within the same dimension, the depth of one's consciousness can differ greatly.

Chapter 4. Time and Space, Life and Reality

[4D Space-Time — On a Bridge by a Sunset River]

The sun slowly sank into the horizon.

Red light soaked the river, casting their shadows long and thin.

Leo and Wonhyung stood quietly, watching the flow of the water.

Leo: (softly) Today's battle… was truly extraordinary.

Wonhyung: (smiling faintly)

(A gentle breeze blew past, lifting her hair ever so slightly.)

Leo: But... about what Galton said earlier —"The universe is like a Möbius strip, endlessly looping" — what did he mean?

Wonhyung: It's just as it sounds. The universe flows in infinite recursion, like a Möbius strip.

Leo: And how did you realize such a thing? Even physicists haven't proven that...

Wonhyung: Performing endlessly on Music Bank, Show! Music Core, Inkigayo, M Countdown...One day, in the middle of that endless loop — I got hit by existential dread. And then... I just knew.

Leo: Of course… true enlightenment always comes when you're hit by that moment of emptiness. So what's your next schedule?

Wonhyung: Music Bank. I'm hosting too.

Leo: By the way, why is it so impossible to win the audience lottery for Music Bank?

Wonhyung: You need to apply the moment registration opens — Thursday, 9AM sharp. That increases your chances.

Leo: Oh! Great tip. Thank you, thank you~

(At some point, the two reached a fork in the road.)

Leo: …Will I ever see you again?

Wonhyung: (with a small smile) The future is unknowable. But someday… in some form, we might meet again. The world is smaller and stranger than it seems.

Leo: (nodding quietly) Then… I'll look forward to that day.

Wonhyung: (turning around) Looks like our paths diverge here. You will walk your path… and I will walk mine.

Leo: Wherever this road may lead,I'm sure I'll always remember walking with you today.

Wonhyung: Me too. Whether it's real or not…The memories we shared won't disappear.

Leo: Somehow… it feels unreal. To have stood here, with a woman so beautiful, so enlightened…Was this reality, or just a dream?

(Wonhyung smiles softly.)

She took out a scroll, wrote something on it, and handed it to Leo.

Then, using her Phantom Godstep Technique, she walked away — disappearing like an illusion.

After she left, Leo slowly unrolled the scroll.

"The time we spent together is our life.""The space we share together is our reality."

(Author's Note: This episode was inspired by the fact that Jang Wonyoung does not take MBTI tests, and that she enjoys reading 'Sayings of the Buddha.')
