Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: The last breath on the surveillance screen

When Elena Carter finally relaxed in the chair in the monitoring room, she knew that this would be her last breath. There was no sense of ceremony, no excessive struggle - she just gently closed her eyes, like the surveillance camera running quietly in the corner, gradually stagnating.

Heartbeat, blood flow, consciousness broke one by one. The only thing left was a string of numbers flashing repeatedly, a last memory. There was no hatred in her mind, only cold calculations, cold enough to destroy the whole world.

It all started when she checked the display screen for the last time. At that time, the display screen just showed the running data of the algorithm she designed by herself. This facial recognition system should have been the representative of Silicon Valley's top technology - accurate, fast, and impeccable. The screen flashed blue light, and the facial recognition algorithm she wrote by herself was working - "Identity ID: Elena Carter, Authority Level: Cleaning Staff (Deregistered)".

This was her design. The code she wrote and the system she debugged were nothing but garbage in the eyes of these cold-blooded technology executives. She never expected that her life would be completely wiped out by these so-called "elites".

She was a promising engineer, with the most advanced technology in Cyber City, proficient in artificial intelligence, encryption algorithms and data mining. As a woman, her skills far surpassed any male counterpart. She did not need to rely on any "gender privilege", she relied on talent and hard work. However, when she stood at the final threshold and broke all prejudices and obstacles, she was abandoned.

At the moment of being fired, she was not surprised, but was uncontrollably disappointed. She knew that she had long become a pawn of the technology giants - disposable. She had built a variety of data encryption models for them and developed breakthrough financial algorithms, but the final reward was indifference and contempt.

That morning, she heard her colleagues talking about her "failure" in the Starbucks downstairs of the company. Those high-ranking technology bosses smiled contemptuously in front of her. That smile never disappeared until the last second, until she saw the words "Garbage to be cleared" in the monitoring room.

She left no regrets. The last sound was still the algorithm she designed herself - that string of algorithms made her death meaningless, as if she and all her technology would be thrown into the garbage dump.

But she did not die, she was reborn.

Elena Carter opened her eyes, and the familiar scene around her made her unbelievable for a moment - she returned to three years ago. At that time, she was just an ordinary engineer in a Silicon Valley startup, and had not yet reached the point of being intertwined with the betrayal of those senior elites.

Her first reaction was not fear, but calmness. She lay quietly in the bathroom of Starbucks, standing in front of the mirror and looking at herself, this still young and powerful self. She smiled slightly - this was the beginning of her revenge.

Time gave her a chance, and she would never miss it again.

Elena knew that she would not repeat her past mistakes. At that time, she held a passion for technology and worship of the industry, and naively believed in the beautiful vision of those "tech giants". She thought that as long as she worked hard, the light of technology would illuminate the road ahead. But she was wrong. Those so-called "elites" had already regarded her as a chess piece, to be thrown away after use.

This time, she was no longer the Elena who bowed her head and only saw the technology in front of her. Instead, she became sharp, cold, and full of revenge.

She no longer existed for technology, but to make those who had stepped on her pay the price.

Elena stood up and hurried out of the bathroom. The hustle and bustle of the street and the horns of the vehicles did not break her calm. She already had a plan. She was no longer the cleaner without any resources, but had weapons that were enough to tear apart the Silicon Valley empire - she had technology and wisdom, even more powerful than before.

Her first step would start from Wall Street.
