Chapter 44 - Sunflower and Hydra

Lord of Fear? !

Elena froze at the deafening sound and looked up abruptly.

Then, just as the sound of the giant tree faded away, the tall and handsome Lord of Fear flew out of the tree's mouth.

At the same time, his image was magnified by the strange light and shadow, clearly projected onto the thick fog at the top of the tree, visible to every living thing in the jungle.

At this moment, the Lord of Fear showed a contemptuous look and a mocking smile, his magnetic voice slowly spreading to every corner of the jungle:

"I want to say, you're all doomed. I will make every living thing in the jungle live in fear from now on."

Elena looked at the image in the sky, her blood-red pupils contracting...

"Starting from tomorrow, I will randomly bestow infinite fear upon three lives in the jungle every day until they become slaves to fear and turn into my food.

Hehe...

Hahaha!"

Denver showed a hint of surprise,

"I think your food is right behind you, isn't it?"

Elena paused, then suddenly turned around! But there was nothing behind her, except for lush trees and a clear river.

"What are you still standing there for, little sunflower? If you're hungry, then go drink some water,"

Denver's voice rang out again, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Elena was a bit confused, but still walked slowly towards the river behind her. Many things in the Lost Jungle couldn't be understood by normal logic.

Could it be that here, just drinking water could fill her stomach?

Elena thought to herself and decided to take off her high heels, walking barefoot on the damp grass, slowly approaching the river.

She bent down and saw a beautiful sunflower reflected in the river water. And on this sunflower's pockmarked face, there were actually two eyes and a mouth. How ridiculous.

But Elena was still stunned for a moment after seeing the sunflower's reflection in the water. The sunflower's reflection in the water was also stunned for a moment. Elena scratched her head.

The sunflower's reflection in the water also stretched out a branch and scratched its head.

Elena and the sunflower's reflection in the water swallowed saliva at the same time. She finally understood why the nine-headed snake had been calling her "little sunflower" all along.

I've actually turned into a sunflower? !

No, I don't seem to have changed?

She looked at her own body and found that she was still the same as before.

But in others' eyes, she was just a sunflower. Elena cupped the river water in her hands and poured it into her mouth.

The sunflower in the reflection also used its two big leaves to cup the river water and pour it into its mouth full of pockmarks.

Ah!

So cool!

But...

it didn't quench her thirst? !

Suddenly, Elena had an urge to step into the river. So she took a step into the water.

The water was so cool and refreshing.

In the ripples, the countless roots of the sunflower were slowly wriggling forward in the water. The cool liquid seeped into her body from her legs, or perhaps it should be said from her roots.

Soon, Elena felt that she was no longer hungry and was full of energy. It seemed that not only did others see her as a sunflower, but perhaps she really was a sunflower. And the human form she saw of herself was just an illusion?

"What a beautiful sunflower! You are so charming,"

a turtle over two meters long suddenly poked its head out of the water and complimented Elena. Elena turned around.

[Life Forms in the Lost Jungle]

Elena was stunned to find that the system couldn't identify any of the life forms here. "Thank you," Elena said politely. "You're welcome. Seeing you, I finally understand the true meaning of 'a feast for the eyes'." The turtle smiled, but drool was flowing from its mouth. Fear suddenly filled Elena's entire body. Then, the turtle quickly stretched out its long neck and bit at Elena! Elena turned and ran, shouting loudly, "Turn into a frog!"

Then!

Elena felt a sharp pain in her waist and "plopped" into the river.

She endured the intense pain and turned her head.

On the blood-stained water surface, her lower body was already gone, only the broken, white and bloody intestines were floating on the water with the blood.

At this moment, the turtle was enjoying itself, slowly swallowing her entire lower body into its stomach.

"Frog? I haven't eaten frog for a long time," the turtle said while chewing her thigh. "Although I'm interested in meat, I like plants even more."

Elena's face contorted in pain.

The intense pain made her body tremble.

Her maimed body and the gushing blood made her dizzy.

The frog magic failed again...

Why...

Why is my magic useless in this jungle? !

The river turtle completely swallowed Elena's lower body and approached her with a smile again.

"It's so delicious. I haven't enjoyed such a delicious meal in a long time." But just as it was saying this, it felt a shadow slowly approaching from the sky.

It looked up in horror and saw a huge snake head looking at it mockingly.

"Hehehe, I knew it. Little Sunflower would definitely attract delicious food."

The fourth head of the nine-headed snake, Denver, flicked its tongue and said smugly. "No! Honorable Mr. Nine-Headed Snake, I didn't know this was your territory... No—" The river turtle roared, but in the next second, Denver's huge mouth crushed its shell to pieces, and then its entire body was swallowed by Denver. "Delicious breakfast. Well done, Little Sunflower." Denver belched contentedly.

Blood and debris dripped onto Elena's face, but she only felt the river water filling her body through her torn stomach.

"Save me... Denver..."

The intense pain made her muscles twitch involuntarily, and tears of fear streamed down her torn face.

"Please... Save me!!"
