Chapter 1 - The Blessed Universe

Several multiversal level beings floated in the realm above space. It was completely silent. The splendor of the universe could be seen beneath their existence. Flowing onward through the undefeated concept of time. Two prominent figures were side by side, gazing below.

The first was a humanoid being dressed in a grey suit and tie. His face was unable to be seen, some phenomena preventing it from being possible. A cane allowed him to stand tall. He was known as The Presence.

Beside him stood another humanoid. An old man with white hair and polarized glasses. Despite his back seemingly hunched over, there was an ever present smile on his mustached face. He was the One Above All. Behind him were several celestials.

"Stan Lee. Have you decided?" The Presence asked.

"...Let it be done." The One Above All responded.

"An entire universe. Newly created…free from our grasp. Are we truly not going to monitor this one?" A feminine voice spoke up.

"Perpetua. We have our own duties. Of course, you are free to observe. Interfering is prohibited. Let us see in which form this universe takes." The Presence answered.

Stan Lee smiled. He knew it would be beautiful. It was a shame that he wouldn't be able to watch. His time was coming to an end.

"This universe. I hereby name it…The Bless-ed."

"Stan…we've always kept our multiverses separate. Are you sure…"

"Relax, will you? It's not like that. I'm just saying. Whichever way this universe develops…let it be. I will give it access to my domain. You shall do the same. As for whether the newborn will actually reach beyond itself…that remains a mystery."

A universe free from the constant meddling of higher dimensional beings. Blessed by the creators of two omniverses. While born from DC, it was capable of reaching out beyond. That was Stan's final gift.

The sun, a blazing sphere of molten fire, ascended above the horizon, its first rays spilling over the earth like molten gold. In that moment, the world seemed to hold its breath, bathed in the soft, amber light that spread across the sky. The warmth crept over the land, touching skin and soil alike, as if the sun itself whispered a promise of new beginnings. It was a spark of hope to ignite even the darkest corners of the heart. Its brilliance seemed to reach out, pulling all who dared look upon it into a gentle embrace.

There was something divine in the light, something that transcended the mundane, that made every breath feel sacred, every moment alive with possibility. It was a reminder of the endless cycle of day and night, of resilience and rebirth, as if the sun itself stood as a living testament to the perseverance of life itself.

Kara Dru-Zod had long since given up on humanity. Earth had not welcomed her arrival with hospitality. It was the opposite. While still weak and vulnerable, she'd been snatched out of her escape pod…thrown into a classified military facility under the arctic.

Countless tests and experiments. Torture. Poisons. Viruses. Diseases. Everything had been attempted. Luckily, after multiple years, there were no longer any breakthroughs. Humanity couldn't find anything special about her. They didn't know about kryptonian potential.

There was only one thing humans would do once they grew bored of a toy. Throw it away. Kara was thrown back into the darkness of her cell, the steel walls cold and unfeeling. The room was dark without a single light source.

She hadn't seen the sun for more than five years. She hadn't spoken to anyone. She'd forgotten how to speak…always used to the silence. The soldiers had only given her disgusting slop for food. She was malnourished. Wasting away. Rotting.

BOOM

A powerful impact shook the facility. The screams of soldiers could be heard. Gunfire resounded. It was relentless. Over the course of a few minutes, everything went silent.

Then her cell door opened. The light washed into the room, forcing her to turn away, She was too sensitive. It burned. As involuntary tears streamed down her face, she finally squinted through the brightness.

A single figure stood at the heavy metal door. His hand was outstretched. She couldn't make out his figure. The lights were too bright.

"Kara. Kara Dru-Zod." A calm and pleasant voice reached her ears.

"............." She remained silent. She'd forgotten how to use her vocal chords.

"Will you walk under the sun with me?"

His hand reached out to her. An aura of safety and comfort was emitting from that hand. The feeling of warmth. Something she'd long forgotten in this cold place.

Seeing that she wasn't responding, the hand slowly pulled back. Kara immediately felt a sense of urgency. Reaching out toward the warm figure…she wobbled and fell.

The impact would fracture her bones, but it was not to be. The man caught her frail body. He was gentle. Warmth filled her soul. The man smiled.

"Nobody will ever harm you again."

He lifted her up, keeping her close for warmth. The surroundings changed…then she felt the sun. It was beautiful.

Present Day

Kara pushed off the ground, a ripple of formless energy washing over the surroundings. The sound of her ascent didn't come until a few seconds later. The sky cracked like thunder as she broke the sound barrier.

Her arms remained at her sides as she reached incredible speeds. Her cape flapped in the rapid wind, blanketing her robust form. She ignored the cities below. Today was an important day. They needed to watch this event together.

Several years had passed since she'd found freedom. Once she was strong enough, she'd returned with a heart full of vengeance. The calm and peaceful man didn't stop her, instead encouraging her to cleanse the scars of the heart. So she did.

The American and Russian joint facility was revisited. Annihilated. Along with the higher ups who'd developed it. She'd given up on humanity…but she would never go against him. Her savior.

Kara's speed finally declined as she approached a bed of clouds. As she finally slowed to a stop, she found him. There he was. The Father of Earth. The Shepherd. The Guide.

He sat on the edge of a cloud, his chin perched on his mighty fist. With curly light brown hair -almost chestnut- and golden eyes that shimmered like the sun itself, he gazed at her with a calm smile.

He wore a light grey kryptonian bodysuit, similar to Kara's blue and red. Neither of them wore logos on the chest. Gold accents outlined the suit as well as his deep velvet cape, a mantle that emphasized his status. It could be removed at will. His muscular form put others to shame…and he was tall.

With molten gold on the tips of his feet and cape, it matched his eyes. Of course…there was one more addition. A glowing crown hovered above his head, as if formed by the celestial body. The sun. It constantly pulsed with energy, a testament to his name. Val-Ul. Son of Faora Ul.

"Val!" Kara exclaimed before wrapping him in a tight hug. He returned the hug with grace.

"Kara. You've done well." He greeted while moving the black hair from her eyes.

"It is only because of you." She quickly answered.

"Ah stop it…you flatter me."

"We've worked hard for this. Is it finally time?"

"It is. The countdown ends in a few minutes."

Kara wrapped around his arm and rested her head on his shoulder. Or at least tried to. He was quite tall. Still, he tried to make it easier for her. A comfortable silence ensued.

"...Do you remember when we first met?" He spoke up. She smiled.

"How could I ever forget?"

"I'm curious…what did it feel like when you first greeted the sun?"

She thought for a moment. The feeling…how did it feel? It took a while to gather her thoughts. Once she was ready, she spoke.

"It felt like something I was missing had finally been found. Like a missing puzzle piece was filled. Like taking a nice bath or soaking in a hot spring. Like laying down on a comfortable bed when sore. All of these feelings at once."

"Hmmm…" Val rubbed his chin in thought.

"Was it not the same for you?"

"It wasn't." He shook his head. "For me…it was quite unpleasant. I was forced to look away due to the sun's majesty, only to find myself surrounded by millions of them. The pain was excruciating."

Kara frowned. That didn't sound right. Was he okay? She had to ask.

"And now?" She spoke up. He smiled while patting her shoulder.

"It's fine. Now it's as you say."

"Siiiigh. That's a relief. I don't know what I'd do if-"

"Shhhhh." He interrupted. "Don't even go there." His free hand playfully tapped her cheek. She smiled mischievously before pouncing on him.

The two rolled around on the bed of clouds, laughter and giggles resounding. The only two beings that stood on high. Val-Ul and Kara Dru-Zod.

Eventually, the sound of heavy turbulence reverberated across the continent. Citizens from all across the world turned to the sky. A smile of pure excitement and anticipation could be seen on their faces.

Kara and Val turned to see a futuristic spaceship breaking through the clouds. It was followed by an armada of smaller ships, resembling a space army. The Father floated into the air and raised his arms.

"Humanity shall finally venture into the stars. We've guided them in the best ways possible. Eliminated global hunger, disease, poverty, and more. We've advanced their technology allowing humanity to soar through space as if it is the sky. We've done it." His hypnotizing voice was filled with conviction.

"Why did we have to guide them like this? They don't deserve your attention." Kara said, though a slight smile adorned her face as she observed the magnificent view.

"They don't deserve our help. It's true…But I don't wish to live in a world of trash. So I had to elevate them into something more. THAT…is why they call me The Father."

Humanity didn't take kindly to the arrivals of both kryptonians. The two were forced to take on the role of conquerors and rulers for a time, forcing certain changes to take place. It was swift and decisive. Only once humanity had joined hands globally to make one true government…only then did Val dust his hands clean.

Earth was given back its autonomy, though the final say would always remain with the two beings. There was no Justice League. Certain figures may exist, but crime itself has long since been a thing of the past.

A new era had arrived. The era blessed by the sun.
