Chapter 42 - Chapter-302 Home

Keifer's POV

"Goodbye Singapore, goodbye," Honey said while waving her hand as if someone was waving back at her.

"Who are you waving at?" Keigan asked her.

"No one. Just practicing." She answered.

She continued walking towards the private plane. She was really the only one we were waiting for.

"Why did we bring her again?" Keigan asked me.

"We didn't bring her. She tagged along on her own."

We both shook our heads. She didn't really do anything except wander around and stay glued to her phone.

As soon as we boarded the private plane, all I could hear was the sound of camera shutters. Honey was taking selfies from different angles.

I need a drink.

As soon as I sat down, Keigan handed me a stack of papers. I let out a deep sigh. I can't believe I have to do this. What makes it worse is that the board members want a report from my trip. I have to explain why we should consider this company's proposal.

"This is tiring!" I shouted before putting down the papers.

"You can rest once we get to the next country," Keigan said and picked up the papers I almost threw.

"Where's the next country?" Honey asked.

She was acting like a tourist. Of all times, why now? She had so much free time before, but now she decides to tag along. Doesn't she study?

After attending three semesters in college, she decided to stop. She said she was too smart for the course she chose.

"Home," Keigan answered shortly. "We're visiting three companies—"

"Make it four."

Both of them went silent.

"Are you planning to add that company?" Honey asked.

"I personally sent them an email to let them know," I said while looking out the window.

No one said anything after that. They both sat down and fastened their seatbelts. I did the same before closing my eyes to sleep.

Maybe I should pay my Jay-jay a visit. I miss her so badly, I'm ready to move the whole Philippines beside London.

Or maybe move the whole of London beside the Philippines. Whichever it is. As long as I can bring our countries closer.

I didn't know how long the flight was, but I woke up when Honey suddenly screamed.

"You're such an annoying guy!" she said and stood up.

My forehead creased when I realized we had already landed. I looked for Keigan, who was reading something on his laptop.

"What time is it?" I asked while removing my seatbelt. "You should've woken me up."

"You looked so peaceful sleeping. I didn't want to interrupt that." He answered without even looking at me.

I looked at Honey as she opened the door and immediately stepped off the plane. She was holding her phone in one hand and her expensive bag in the other.

"Here," Keigan said and handed me his laptop. "All the data and information about Fer Corp that you can use."

I raised an eyebrow, but he just smiled at me. "Obviously, I can't stop you. So I'll just help you."

For some reason, I felt relieved with his decision. I didn't want to argue with him anymore, especially now that I knew his situation.

I will talk to his doctor soon after these meetings.

"Thank you," I said, and he nodded before going back to his seat.

I turned to his laptop and started reading all the data on Fer Corp. I already did a background check before, but the data he found was more useful.

It took me almost half an hour just reading through everything. I returned the laptop to Keigan afterward and headed straight to the bathroom to freshen up. I also changed my clothes. After getting ready, I looked at myself in the mirror.

I want to look good when I see Jay-jay. I also need to control myself. I might end up kissing her the moment I see her. I bit my lips while thinking about her.

I stepped out right after fixing my necktie. Keigan was waiting for me while checking his wristwatch.

"Let's go," I said, and he nodded.

We exited the plane one after another. A service vehicle was already waiting for us. As soon as we got in, Keigan started asking questions about the previous companies we visited. I had a little chit-chat about it.

I feel amazed hearing my brother's insights. He's really smart. If he were the eldest, maybe he wouldn't have had problems with any of this.

"You're not listening," he said, snapping me back to reality.

"I am."

"Then what did I say?"

"You're not listening," I answered, and he chuckled.

He just helped me go over the stats of Fer Corp. That's how we spent the entire ride—until we reached our destination.

Here we go.

Someone opened the car door for us. I stepped out first, followed by Keigan. Upon entering the building, the employees were lined up to welcome us. And of course, Angelo was there.

"Welcome to Fernandez Corporation, Mr. Watson," he said, offering his hand.

I smirked before taking his hand for a handshake. "What's with the formality? Mr. Fernandez."

He gripped my hand so tightly I almost whimpered in pain. But if he was good at hiding emotions, so was I. If he doesn't remember, I'm a product of his evil guidance.

"You look pale. Don't you want to rest for a while?" he asked, still gripping my hand.

"No. But I would prefer if you could give me some medicine," I said, gripping his hand back.

He smiled at me. "Sure."

"Thank you. I would like to have a Jasper Jean. I know you have one for me," I said and smiled.

His smile disappeared, and he tightened his grip on my hand even more.

"Yes, I have a Jasper Jean, but it's not meant for you." He let go of me and took a deep breath.

He turned to his secretary and whispered something. I subtly held my hand. Good thing I had the cast removed before traveling. I knew he'd take any chance to hit my arms.

"Would you like to have a tour?" he asked me after talking to his secretary.

"I would like to talk to you. In private," I said in a serious tone.

He signaled to his employees, and they all scattered. Some got into the elevator—probably heading back to their workstations—while others stayed in the lobby.

He gestured for me to follow him. I did, and so did Keigan and his secretary. We entered the open elevator. His secretary pressed the button for the top floor.

"Sir, the conference room is ready to use now."

Angelo glanced at my brother. "Follow my secretary. He will bring you to the conference room."

Keigan looked at me for permission. I nodded briefly in response.

The elevator opened, and we all stepped out one after another. Although Keigan and Angelo's secretary walked to one side, we went in the opposite direction.

We went straight to his office. We stopped a few steps from his executive table.

"Have you caught the kidnapper?" I asked.

He shook his head. "No. But Yuri already sent someone for investigation."

"Why didn't you send someone yourself? Yuri's men are too slow."

"Because this is his fight! I can't interfere—it's between their clans!"

"What do you want me to do then? Wait until someone kidnaps my girl again?"

His forehead creased. "Jay-jay is not your girl. Stop giving her a label."

"Coming from the person who labeled his girl as 'best friend.'" I mocked him, but he clearly wasn't having it.

His serious face was intimidating, but his eyes were filled with sorrow.

"Ion is in good condition. She's planning to travel abroad before continuing her residency."

He wanted to ask, so I said it first.

He gave a short nod before walking toward his table. He picked up a black velvet box that was sitting on top. It was fairly large, with a gold print of the group's logo.

"This is from the group. Your birthday gift," he said and handed it to me.

I accepted it and slowly opened the box. It was a gun—but not just any gun. My initials were engraved on it too.

"W-what's with the gun?"

"That was supposed to be your welcome gift to the group, but Schnee was so impressed by your ability that he wanted me to give it to you early."

I shook my head and smirked. I closed the box and handed it back to Angelo. "I prefer accepting it when I'm officially a member of the group."

He took it and set it down on the coffee table beside him.

"Are you sure? You might need it for your next task."

"What would that be?"

"Ryosuke Sato is a big pain in our ass. Get rid of him."

I stopped and tried to process the words he used. He wants me to get rid of Sato.

"I thought you said you couldn't interfere." He raised a brow. "And now you want me to kill him?"

"Then kill him silently, or get rid of him when he's alone so no one will know."

"Why me? Why don't you do it?"

"I already have problems with the Hanamitchis. I don't want to add more by getting involved in their mess." He raised a brow at me. "Are you complaining? I warned you from the very beginning."

I breathed heavily. "No. It's just—"

"Don't you dare complain, Keifer! You signed up for this! You're risking Jay-jay's life here—double time!"

"I am not complaining! Give me time and it will be done."

He stepped closer and pointed a finger at me. "Make sure you will." He walked past me and left the office.

I just stood there. I can't believe I have to kill someone. This is against my will, but if Jay-jay's life is at risk, I am more than willing to get rid of those who dare to hurt her.

I decided to follow Angelo. I saw his secretary waiting for me.

"Sir, they're in the conference room waiting for you," she said and walked ahead of me.

I followed her until we reached the conference room. They seated me at the end, right next to the Demon himself. I talked briefly with the board members and major shareholders of the company.

There were fewer of them than I expected. The managers began presenting the company's stats, their future plans, and what I would gain from investing in their upcoming projects.

The discussion lasted over three hours. We closed the meeting with me expressing interest in the company. Everyone in the conference room thanked me and shook my hand before letting us leave.

We were already inside the elevator when I noticed Keigan texting someone.

"Who's that?" I asked without even looking at his phone.

"Honey. She said she's downstairs."

I shook my head. She's always disappearing. Even last night, she vanished. She said she had a date but came back with a disappointed look. Seems like someone didn't show up.

When we got to the ground floor, some of the board members approached me right away. I didn't exactly know what they wanted from me. I was in the middle of the conversation when someone screamed.

From the most expected person I know.

"FUCK YOU, KEIFER!!"

Tss... Profanity.

We all turned in the direction of the voice at the same time. I saw her turn her back and leap to the other side of the couch.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Watson—"

I cut him off by starting to walk. I was planning to approach her later, but it looks like our meeting will come earlier than expected.

"Who was that?"

"Please, someone call security."

"The youth these days."

"What a filthy mouth."

I heard them say while I walked toward her.

"Where is she?" I asked when I saw a few employees standing near the couch.

"She disappeared, sir," one of them said.

Another employee came up to me. "I'm sorry, Mr. Watson. Please believe us, she's not one of our employees."

I gently moved him aside to look for Jay-jay. I badly want to see her, but these people are blocking me.

Just please show up.

"It doesn't matter. That won't affect your business proposaL. I just don't like hearing inappropriate words. Maybe I'll make her pay for that profanity."

I looked toward one area when I noticed a shadow move. I was about to approach her when Keigan suddenly came up to me and showed me his phone.

A message from Clyde saying that the Oldest was rushed to the hospital and we needed to head back as soon as possible.

"Kuya! We have to leave. We're going to be late for our flight." He sounded worried.

"Okay," I said and turned away—but I left a message that she would surely hear.

"Maybe next time, Jay-jay."
