Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Mechanical Pet

"As a student, and he as the vice principal, Seventeenth High School is his territory. No matter what, I can't win against him on his turf. Since I can't win, I'll just change the battlefield." Li Cunxu had a clear understanding of his situation.

Did Shi Jintang think that just because he didn't approve, Li Cunxu couldn't study at home? Ridiculous. This world belongs to the Alliance, not to him alone.

Having figured out a solution, Li Cunxu went to his teacher to ask for leave. The teacher hesitated, "I'm sorry, but the vice principal has instructed me not to grant you any leave."

Li Cunxu nodded, understanding the situation.

"I apologize for putting you in a difficult position."

If he couldn't get leave, did that mean he couldn't leave? Were his legs just for show? Shi Jintang was truly laughable.

Li Cunxu went to the sports field, and seeing no one around, he climbed a sycamore tree and scaled the wall to get out.

Once outside the school, Li Cunxu headed straight to the Education Bureau to report Shi Jintang for oppressing students, feeling unjustly treated at Seventeenth High School, and requested a transfer.

Reporting to the Education Bureau in the Deity Control world was highly effective. If students complained about the poor quality of food in the school cafeteria, the bureau would send undercover agents to experience it firsthand. If the food was indeed bad, the bureau would order the school to make improvements. If the situation didn't improve the following year, the bureau would downgrade the school's rating and reduce its annual funding.

A downgraded rating would result in fewer students enrolling, and reduced funding would make the principal and the finance director anxious.

To prevent students from making frivolous complaints, the Education Bureau had a verification process.

A staff member brought over a small stone statue of a unicorn-like creature.

The stone creature was actually an Honesty Beast, capable of detecting lies, and was unique to the Alliance Police Department.

This one was borrowed from the neighboring police station.

Li Cunxu repeated what he had said earlier and added, "I am willing to take responsibility for my words."

Seeing that the Honesty Beast did not strike Li Cunxu with the stone horn on its head, the staff member confirmed that Li Cunxu was telling the truth.

"Student, please go back first. We will process your transfer request as soon as possible."

"Alright, thank you."

Li Cunxu rode his bicycle to the Pastoral Plains.

Along the way, Li Cunxu was still fuming.

"Just reporting him isn't enough to vent my anger!"

Li Cunxu glanced at a bookstore by the roadside, went in, and bought a black notebook and a pen.

[New Calendar Year 100, September 3rd.

Shi Jintang failed to exploit me and instead oppressed me. I have noted this grievance.

In the future, I will repay him with ten beatings.]

A gentleman's revenge is never too late.

Today, Li Cunxu decided to emulate the ancient gentlemen and record his grievances.

Upon arriving at the Pastoral Plains, Li Cunxu found the ranch Chen Xi had given him, according to the deed.

The signboard on the ranch gate was decayed, hanging precariously, ready to fall at any moment.

Hearing the sound of someone approaching, the guard dog barked a few times, and a person emerged from the dilapidated wooden cabin.

This person was a bit strange, wearing a camouflage cloak in broad daylight.

As the person approached, Li Cunxu could see the face hidden beneath the cloak.

It was a fully metallic mechanical face, with gears turning at the corners of the eyes.

The face looked somewhat familiar. Li Cunxu stood on tiptoe to look behind the person and saw what appeared to be a hunting rifle on their back.

Li Cunxu knew who this was.

This wasn't a person but a humanoid Mechanical Pet Beast, the Mech Hunter.

The Mech Hunter possessed advanced intelligence and a language system similar to humans. Except for its non-human body, it was essentially no different from a person.

Li Cunxu checked the other party's panel, but nothing was displayed.

The panel couldn't view owned Pet Beasts, nor could it view the guard dog following at the feet of the Mech Hunter.

The Mech Hunter took out a photo from his pocket and compared it to Li Cunxu, speaking in a hoarse voice, "Excuse me, are you Mr. Li Cunxu?"

"Yes, I am."

"Hello, I am the Ranch bodyguard hired by Miss Chen Xi, specifically to protect you and the Ranch. You can fully trust me."

Fully trust? What a lofty expectation.

Li Cunxu found it impossible to do so.

The Mech Hunter glanced down at the guard dog and said, "Both Ah Huang and I owe our lives to Miss Chen Xi, and we are sworn to protect your safety."

Li Cunxu asked, "Can you show me around the Ranch?"

"Of course!"

After touring the Ranch, Li Cunxu was somewhat incredulous. The Ranch was actually ten times larger than the Seventeenth Middle School.

"Did I come to the wrong Ranch?"

"Mr. Li Cunxu, you are not mistaken."

"Don't call me 'Mr.' It's too awkward. Just call me by my name."

"Calling you by your name directly would be too impolite."

"Then let's change the title. Call me the Ranch Owner!" Li Cunxu thought for a moment.

"Alright, Ranch Owner."

The Mech Hunter went to the small wooden cabin and brought out a card, handing it to Li Cunxu.

Li Cunxu was puzzled, "What's this?"

The Mech Hunter explained, "This is a bank card Miss Chen Xi left for you. It contains one million, to be used for managing the Ranch."

Li Cunxu fell silent. The Ranch had nothing but dilapidated fences and endless green grass. Purchasing supplies was necessary, but that required money.

Although his parents had left him a considerable inheritance, he had spent it all on Spirit Restriction Nails to pin down his sister.

Unless he sold the house, but the house held memories of his parents. Unless absolutely necessary, Li Cunxu didn't want to sell it.

Li Cunxu accepted the bank card. Since he was already in debt, he didn't mind owing a bit more. He believed he would be able to repay it in the future.

"Since this is a Ranch, cows are essential. But before buying cows, we need to repair the cow shed."

Li Cunxu looked at the cow shed, which had collapsed into ruins, and his lips twitched. How long had this Ranch been abandoned?

Li Cunxu found a construction team online with a good reputation and credibility.

Shortly after, a car stopped at the Ranch gate. A girl in denim overalls got out, with a wooden hammer and a wrench hanging from her waist, and a lollipop in her mouth.

"Excuse me, are you Li Cunxu, who contacted the Lin Construction Team?" Lin Xiaoxuan asked.

"Yes, that's me."

"What do you plan to build?"

"I want to rebuild a cow shed and build a wooden house for myself to live in." Li Cunxu pointed at the dilapidated wooden cabin where the Mech Hunter lived. "And renovate his cabin."

Li Cunxu turned his gaze to the guard dog, but the Mech Hunter shook his head, "Ah Huang doesn't need a doghouse. He lives with me."

Li Cunxu stared at the Ranch and thought carefully, "Also, build a warehouse. We can build other things later."

Lin Xiaoxuan asked again, "How big should the cow shed be? How big should the wooden house be? And the warehouse?"

Li Cunxu explained his requirements to Lin Xiaoxuan.

"The cow shed should accommodate thirty cows, the wooden house should be around one hundred square meters, and the warehouse should be small."

Lin Xiaoxuan took out her notebook and said, "The cow shed is fifteen thousand, the wooden house is ten thousand, the warehouse is twenty-five thousand, and the renovation of the other wooden house can be considered free, since it's a ne

w client."

"That makes a total of forty-five thousand. Will you be paying by card or cash?"

"By card."

As soon as the card was swiped, Lin Xiaoxuan immediately smiled.
