Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Could It Be That Mister Is an alchemist?

After Lin Hu left, the Little Fairy Doctor retrieved a jade bottle from her robe and poured out a pill, which she gave to Lin Long to swallow.

As the pill took effect, Lin Long's complexion improved slightly. However, the Little Fairy Doctor's delicate face remained clouded with worry.

Little Fairy Doctor knew that her antidote could only temporarily suppress the Datura snake venom in Lin Long's body. In three hours, the venom would flare up again, and by then, even her antidote would be useless.

"If only I were an alchemist..." she murmured to herself. "With the abilities of an alchemist, I would surely be able to neutralize the Datura snake venom."

At the thought of alchemists, a hint of melancholy flickered in her beautiful eyes.

Since childhood, she had dedicated herself to the study of medicine, yet she had never been able to take the first step toward becoming an alchemist.

She understood all too well how difficult it was to achieve such a status.

With a sigh, the Little Fairy Doctor slowly rose to her feet. Now, her only hope rested on Lin Hu's ability to retrieve the Datura snake's gallbladder. But deep down, she knew how slim that hope was.

With Lin Hu's strength as a five-star Dou Practitioner, how could he possibly defeat a second-tier magical beast like the Datura snake and obtain its gallbladder?

As time passed, the atmosphere in Ten Thousand Medicines House grew increasingly tense. Everyone watched Lin Long, who lay unconscious on the ground, with bated breath.

"Half an hour left..." the Little Fairy Doctor murmured, glancing at the sky. She observed Lin Long's face darkening once more and shook her head helplessly.

As a doctor, it pained her deeply to watch a patient succumb to death before her eyes. If only she could become an alchemist...

Soon, the three-hour mark approached. The Little Fairy Doctor gazed outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of Lin Hu's return. But to her dismay, there was no sign of him.

She knelt beside Lin Long and gently checked his pulse, only to find that the Datura snake venom had already spread to his limbs and bones.

"Is there no hope left..." A trace of sorrow flashed in her eyes as she let out a faint sigh.

"Hehe, it seems I've arrived just in time." At that moment, a clear voice echoed from the entrance of Ten Thousand Medicines House.

The Little Fairy Doctor turned her gaze toward the source of the sound and saw a man dressed in white standing at the doorway. His appearance was so sudden that no one had noticed when he arrived.

When the Little Fairy Doctor's eyes fell upon the man's face, she was momentarily stunned. His ethereal demeanor made him seem like an immortal who had descended to the mortal world. His handsome features were complemented by a pair of deep, star-like eyes that seemed to draw her in.

While the Little Fairy Doctor was observing him, the man in white was also studying her. 'So this is the Little Fairy Doctor,' he thought to himself. 'She truly lives up to her reputation.'

After a moment of silence, the Little Fairy Doctor regained her composure and asked softly, "May I ask for your name, sir?"

"My surname is Gu," the man replied calmly.

This man was none other than Gu He. It had taken him three full days of travel from the Misty Cloud Sect to reach Qingshan Town.

"Mr. Gu," the Little Fairy Doctor began, her eyes gleaming with curiosity, "what did you mean earlier when you said you arrived just in time?"

"I meant that I can detoxify the Datura snake poison," Gu He replied with a gentle smile, his eyes never leaving hers.

"Are you a doctor as well?" the Little Fairy Doctor asked, her face lighting up with hope.

Gu He paused for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I am a doctor."

In truth, physicians were a subset of alchemists. However, their status was far inferior to that of true alchemists.

While physicians could mix medicinal ingredients to create remedies, they lacked the ability to refine true pills.

This was why every physician dreamed of becoming an alchemist, though few ever succeeded due to the immense talent and guidance required.

"Since you can detoxify the Datura snake poison, I beg you to save him. If we delay any longer, it will be too late," the Little Fairy Doctor pleaded, her thoughts returning to Lin Long.

Gu He smiled faintly. "The Datura snake poison is nothing to worry about." He approached Lin Long, retrieved a jade bottle from his robe, and poured out a pill, which he gently fed to the unconscious man.

"Mr. Gu, what kind of pill is that?" the Little Fairy Doctor asked, her eyes shining with curiosity as she observed the pill in Gu He's hand. It seemed far more refined than any medicine she had ever seen.

"It's just a common detoxification pill," Gu He replied casually.

In truth, the pill he had given Lin Long was a second-tier pill known as the Detoxification Pill. For Gu He, a sixth-tier alchemist, a second-tier pill was indeed quite ordinary.

"A common detoxification pill?" The Little Fairy Doctor's eyes flickered with doubt. Could such a pill truly cure the Datura snake poison? She quickly turned her attention to Lin Long, watching for any changes.

To her astonishment, the jet-black hue on Lin Long's face began to fade almost immediately after he swallowed the pill. The venom was clearly being neutralized.

"This..." The Little Fairy Doctor's eyes widened in shock, her lips parting slightly. "The Datura snake poison was actually detoxified so easily? Mr. Gu's medical skills are truly extraordinary!"

The other members of Ten Thousand Medicines House also watched in awe, their admiration for Gu He evident. This man had effortlessly cured what they had believed to be an incurable condition.

Before long, Lin Long's complexion returned to normal. The Little Fairy Doctor stepped forward to examine him, a sweet smile spreading across her face. "The venom has been completely eradicated."

She turned to Gu He, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thanks to your miraculous pill, the Datura snake poison has been cured. On behalf of Ten Thousand Medicines House, I extend my deepest thanks to you."

Lin Long was a patient of Ten Thousand Medicines House, and now that Gu He had saved him, the Little Fairy Doctor felt it was only right to express her gratitude.

"It's just a second-tier pill. Nothing worth mentioning," Gu He replied with a light chuckle, as though it were a trivial matter.

"A second-grade pill?!" The Little Fairy Doctor's expression changed dramatically. "Could it be that you are... an alchemist?"
