At Sakurazaka Highschool Cafeteria, continuing the scenario where we ended the previous chapter.
Yeah, I am surprised too. I am initially skeptical of this plan because it's too risky, but it turns out fine. Shinji whispered cheerfully The process we go through for this is quite challenging...Shinji lets out a sigh But, at least that lessens the boredom. Shinji adds nonchalantly.
Yeah, that was my first time experiencing this kind of...thrill. So, that is freedom. Kaori whispered, closing her eyes reminiscing about their planning and execution of Arata's plan.
Yesterday, outside the Pachinko Parlor after the confrontation between Arata, Shinji, and Kaori and Kaori's proposition of joining the two of them.
Arata said we should wait for his text. Shinji said he still cautious around Kaori as she just attempted to deceive him.
I said that I already have no reasons to deceive the two of you anymore. Kaori sighs But, I get it why you are still on guard with me...I mean, that was just the right thing considering that the person next to you just tried to do something to you. Kaori said, sadness evident in her voice.
Thanks for understanding, I guess. Shinji said playfully, he scartches his head.
Shinji, why do the two of you do this? What is the story behind the birth of the two of you as "HARMONY DUO"? Kaori whispered with genuine curiosity.
It's not yet the time for us to reveal our story. Someday, you- no, the world will know the truth. Shinji whispered his tone turns cold but a hint of sadness is hinted on his tone.
A moment of silence occurs between the two of them. Until, Shinji's phone vibrates indicating that Arata's text have already arrived.
Here's the text! Shinji shows his phone to Kaori.
"Here is the plan. Luckily, I ordered Shinji to bring some bombs earlier this morning with him because I felt that we will need that some time now. When I discovered that we are being surveilled earlier this morning, I kinda panicked a bit but luckily this encounter gives me the advantage for a plan to divert suspicions. Shinji, will go home to check the house to see if there are secret cameras around and also to know wether we got wiretapped or not. Kaori, your role is to be the planter of the bomb, you will plant the bombs in the vulnerable places inside the Pachinko Parlor. Sadly, we only have 3 bombs in Shinji's possession right now...but that should be enough to destroy the place. And, lastly we already pre-recorded a video last night so that won't be a problem any longer...I will edit the video later, and I will send it to you, you will be the one who will going to upload the video. Shinji, once you finish your examination of our house update me immediately. With this, not immediately but at least surely the authorities and Takahiro's suspicions and the investigation will be thrown off at something or someone else that does not exist! Slowly but surely. Do what I have told you to do for now and I will fill you in later for the next phase of our plan." This is what Arata said in the text.
"What does he mean by "something that does not exist"?" Kaori taught to herself, a confused expression visible in her face.
Wow, this is pretty detailed...I didn't expect Arata to be this meticulous and perfectionist. Kaori whispered completely surprised.
Well, you'll get use into that aspect of him. That will depend on your performance here, this is where he decides if he will keep you around or not. Shinji said sarcastically Anyways, I should go now! and...Shinji pulls out 3 teddy bears in his bag and hands it over to Kaori This are the bombs, goodluck! Shinji whispers to her and then he runs off to do what Arata tasked him to do.
Weird...Kaori just lets out a sigh Anyways, let's do this. Kaori said her expression determinated.
She enters inside the Pachinko Parlor once again, she sat down in a chair for a moment carefully analyzing the entire place finding the right spots to plant the three bombs.
Meanwhile, Shinji at their apartment...
"Well, let's see if there are some sneaky peeks here." Shinji taught to himself, a small smirk forming in his face.
Shinji carefully observed and examined the room making sure that they will not be tipped of that he was finding the wiretapping devices and the secret cameras.
After some moments of looking around aimlessly...
"As Arata anticipated, they really set up lots of secret cameras and wiretapping devices around here. I wonder what is Arata's plan to get out of this situation that he is talking about earlier." Shinji taught to himself as he lets out a sigh of frustration.
Well, I might as well relax and watch my favorite anime first! Shinji said enthusiastically followed by a chuckle.
At the Pachinko Parlor...
"Found it! Let's place one of the bombs next in the power source, and this one next to that vending machine, and this last one...well, much better if I plant one under the "BOMBERS" Game machine." Kaori taught to herself with a light chuckle.
She observes the room for anyone who might see her planting the bombs in her chosen location. Once cleared, she quickly placed the bombs in her ideal spots ensuring that she'll place it where it will have the most impact.
"All done! It got me scared for a moment I taught someone might see me... luckily, they are too immersed in the games that they are playing!" Kaori lets out a sigh of relief and place one single game before leaving so that she will not be suspected.
9:00 P.M...Arata is already walking back home from work.
"So that woman, Officer Natsuki, she's persistent... she's still tailing me, She even waited for me to finish my shift. Anyways, what's taking that damn Shinji too long! It's been 3 hours." Arata taught to himself, letting out a sigh of defeat.
Moments later, Arata's phone vibrates revealing Shinji's update about the situation at their apartment.
Finally. Arata mutters to himself.
"Yo, bro! Here's the update! So, as you anticipated they really did set up some good amount of wiretaps and secret cameras around our apartment, Geez...So Creepy!" That is what Shinji said in the text message.
"This kind of lame update is what I will get for waiting 3 hours?" Arata taught to himself as he just lets out a sigh of defeat.
Moments later, another text message has been received from Shinji.
"Sorry for the late update, I got immersed in watching some animes in our telivision." That is what he said in the text message.
"This little- whatever..." Arata puts his phone in his pocket and continued walking.
After what feels like eternity, Arata finally managed to arrive at their apartment...He immediately enters inside.
Yo, welcome back!Shinji greeted Arata woth a bright smile.
Yeah. Arata sits down in their sofa.
"We should act normal outside, and talk about the plan using our phones just to avoid suspicions." Arata send this message at Shinji's phone.
Shinji just gives him a thumbs up.
Shinji and Arata continued their deception by acting normally outside while talking about the plan using their phones.
A message from Kaori notifies in their phone.
"Hey! I just got back from the MPD, Dad asks for my report so I faked them!" Kaori said in that message.
"Whew, what a luck that we already have someone like you in the team!" Shinji replies
"Well, I already expressed my desire to join you and just earlier I have already taken part on your operation so...yeah, I am completely your ally now!" Kaori replies.
"Not until I have decided to let you in on our game or not... it's my turn to test you as you have tested us earlier at all of that Pachinko Parlor scenario." Arata replied coldly.
"Yes, I'll prove my worth!" Kaori replied.
"I didn't expect that our second bombing plan will uncover this way..." Arata replied
"Anyways, this is the second phase of the plan. As said earlier, I will edit our pre-recorded video later and once I've finished editing the video I will send it to you, Kaori. You will be the one who will upload that video tomorrow at exactly 8:00 A.M. Don't make yourself be discovered! If we executed this well, the investigation and suspicions of us will slowly go away...as they will surely believe that it is a work of an inposter trying to imitate our base of operations, but in reality it's just us again. This will cause seeds of doubts to Takahiro and will eventually stop the investigation slowly but surely, Our role Shinji for tomorrow is we are going to act as how our classmates will act when they see the video so that we will evade suspicions and after Takahiro's homeroom time in his first subject I will detonate the bombs at exactly 9:00 A.M." Arata followed.
"Meeting adjourned!" Arata followed.
Arata proceeds to edit their pre-recorded video and after that he immediately send it to Kaori.
Going back to the present...
Whew! That strategy really pulled us out of the depths. Shinji whispered letting out a sigh of relief.
Whatever, what matters now is that we executed this well...Shinji and I's freedom are guaranteed. And with that being said days from now...I can feel it, they will stop the investigation and we will be able to resume our plans again...get yourselves ready for the third bombing plan. Arata whispered coldly, adjusting his glasses But, for now, we should be on our guard because we are still inder surveillance. Arata adds.
"I win, Takahiro...you might have the upper hand in the first half but look who emerges as a victor now." Arata taught to himself, a cold smirk forming in his face.
