Chapter 1 - Waking up in someone else's body

Everything was dark.

Lee Joon didn't feel his body as he floated in the endless dark. He didn't hear anything. It was like floating in an empty space—cold, silent, endless.

Then, out of nowhere, suddenly pain hit him hard.

His chest burned. His lungs felt like they were on fire. He gasped, choking on air that tasted like dirt and blood.

He opened his eyes.

The sky above him was strange—too purple, too quiet. There were tall, jagged mountains in the distance. The trees around him were twisted and sharp, not like anything he'd seen before.

He sat up slowly. Every part of his body hurt. His hands were scraped and covered in blood. His clothes were torn and old-fashioned—definitely not his. And his arms? They were too muscular. His skin was rough and scarred.

His heart started racing.

What is this? Where am I?

That's when he heard the sound.

[SYSTEM BOOTING...]

A bright floating screen popped up in front of him, floating in midair. His head started to pound.

[Transferring Consciousness...]

[Transfer Complete. Welcome to the Murim World]

"What the hell?!" Joon shouted. His voice was dry and rough.

He tried to stand up but fell again. His leg was bleeding, and he felt dizzy. This wasn't a dream. It was too real. The pain, the smell, the dirt—everything was sharp and alive.

He tried to remember what happened.

The last thing he could think of was… the accident which took place. A car. Blinding headlights. The blaring horn. Then nothing.

Was he dead? If so, where the hell was he now?

[Original Body Status: Deceased]

[Cause of Death: Multiple Wounds | Abandoned]

[System Access Granted – Special Reward for Surviving Fatal Transfer]

REWARD UNLOCKED:– 300 Elite Wolf Warriors– Command Insignia: Fang of Dominion– Personal Space: Verdant Moon Palace

Joon stared at the screen.

Elite wolf warriors? A palace? What kind of game is this?

Then suddenly the air and ground around him shifted.

Figures stepped out of the shadows—tall, strong warriors with the heads of wolves and glowing red eyes. Their armor was completely black and they each held steel black swords in their hands

Joon's eyes widened as his breath stopped. He immediately tried to move but he suddenly stopped. He thought they were going to attack.

But instead… they knelt.

All three hundred dropped to one knee in perfect silence. The one in front—the biggest, wearing heavy armor—spoke first.

"We have come, Alpha. We await your orders."

[Troop Loyalty: 100%]

Joon's hands began shaking as his mind assaulted him with questions.

"W-what's going on? Who are these people. Why do they have wolve heads?"

He didn't understand what was happening. In his previous life, he was nobody. Just a quiet guy working long hours at a boring job. No friends. Only his mother as his family and bills and tired mornings.

And now?

Now he had soldiers kneeling in front of him, calling him Alpha.

[Would you like to enter your Personal Space – Verdant Moon Palace?]

He took a deep breath, his eyes still staring at the troops in front of him.

"…Yes," he said, his tone slightly hesitant.

Then immediately, the world around him faded.

He appeared in a giant hall.

It looked like something out of a dream. The floor was white in color. Huge Pillars reached high into the sky. Light poured in through windows made of crystal. And at the far end was a throne—simple, but signified weirdly...Power

[Verdant Moon Palace: Soul-Bound]

Unlocked Features:– Troop Command Center– Qi Training Room– Locked Rooms (Armory, Memory Vault)

[New Quest Available:]– Find out who this body belonged to. The death was violent. Possible betrayal.

Joon walked forward slowly, running a hand along the smooth stone. Everything felt real. Connected. It was like this place was a part of him.

A soft tone sounded again.

[Memory Fragment Found: Playing Now...]

Suddenly, his vision changed.

He was running through the forest, his body injured as blood flowed out from his wounds. At his back he could here voices chasing him. He turned around, aiming to know what was coming then suddenly—a blade pierced his chest. Then a woman's voice whispered in his ear:

"You should've stayed in your place, Sujin."

Suddenly blackness came forth.

The memory ended. Joon stumbled back, heart racing.

Sujin.

That must have been the name of this body. Someone who was betrayed. Left to die. But now… Joon suddenly entered into his body.

"I don't know who you were," Joon whispered, looking up at the throne, "but I think you wanted more."

He clenched his fists.

"In my world, i was weak. I was scared. You seemed weak too. Unable to do anything about your fate. Maybe that was why i took over your body when you died and gained this power." Saying so he looked at the floating screen in front of him.

He continued:

"I don't have full memories of what happened here, but i can tell you needed power. I can tell you were weak, just like me.... But now, I will pay whoever did this to you.. No, us back in full"

He looked at the floating screen again. The system. The palace. The army.

This system gave me power.

And now i am going to use it.
