Chapter 8 - Claim the Reward and Recruit the Third Crew Member: A Gunslinger

Inside the Voidreign ship, as the moonlight shimmered over the sea, Jessie sat cross-legged in his private cabin. The faint hum of the ship's magical core pulsed through the wooden floors. He took a deep breath, his eyes calm yet filled with anticipation.

"System," he spoke aloud. "Claim the rewards from the last mission."

A translucent blue screen materialized in front of him, showing a summary of the rewards:

Sword Inheritance Skill Book (Suitable only for women)

1x Super Soldier Serum

1x Myriad World Crew Summoning Ticket

Jessie nodded with satisfaction. "The sword skill book—give it to Kuina," he commanded. "And prepare the serum."

With a faint hum, a small silver box materialized in front of him. Inside was a sleek, glowing vial filled with a blue liquid—the Super Soldier Serum. Beside it, a sealed book pulsed with ancient energy, runes glowing softly across the cover.

He reached over to the console on his desk. "Pandaghost, call Kuina. Tell her to come here."

Moments later, soft footsteps echoed from the hallway. The door creaked open, and Kuina stepped in, her forehead glistening with sweat. She had just finished another intense session in the ship's gravity training chamber, a room Jessie had specially constructed to accelerate physical growth and resilience.

"Jessie, why did you call me?" she asked, slightly panting, her white gi slightly damp from the workout.

Jessie stood and turned toward her, holding the vial up. "I have something for you. Drink this."

Kuina tilted her head. "What is it?"

"Super Soldier Serum. It'll make you stronger—much stronger."

She hesitated only a second before taking the vial. "If it'll help me surpass Zoro… then I'll take the risk."

Without further hesitation, she uncorked the vial and downed it in one gulp. A sudden surge of energy coursed through her body. Her veins pulsed with light, her muscles tightened, and her heart raced as her entire body transformed. She gritted her teeth, the pain sharp but fleeting.

When the glow faded, she looked at her hands—stronger, more defined. Her senses heightened, and she could feel her strength surpassing even some of the strongest Marines.

"I feel… incredible," she whispered. "Like I could take on an admiral."

Jessie smirked. "You're not done yet."

He tapped the side of his head. "System, transfer the Sword Inheritance Skills to Kuina."

In an instant, Kuina's eyes widened. Memories—not hers—flooded her mind. She dropped to her knees, breathing heavily, as she processed centuries of sword technique, lost arts of female swordmasters from forgotten worlds. Sword forms that could slice through steel like paper, movements so graceful they could dodge bullets, and techniques capable of challenging even Yonko-level fighters.

"This is… unbelievable…" she gasped. "So much knowledge... and power."

Jessie leaned down beside her, his voice calm but firm. "These skills are now yours. Learn them. Master them. You're no longer the girl who died falling from a ladder. You're a warrior chosen by destiny."

Kuina slowly stood, fire igniting in her eyes. "Thank you, Jessie. I won't waste this gift." Without another word, she turned and ran back to the gravity chamber, eager to test and master her new abilities.

Jessie chuckled softly. "She's got potential."

He turned back to the last item: the Myriad World Crew Summoning Ticket. It shimmered like a golden card, pulsing with strange dimensional energy.

"System," Jessie said. "Use the summon ticket. Let's bring in our next crewmember."

The air around him distorted. A magic circle inscribed with celestial runes appeared on the floor. The room trembled slightly as the portal opened. A figure slowly stepped through—boots clicking against the wooden floor.

He wore a red coat that flowed like fire, a pair of yellow-tinted glasses perched on his nose. Two large revolvers rested in holsters at his hips. His presence was chaotic yet… kind.

Jessie's eyes widened. "Wait... Is that...?"

The man looked up, smiled warmly, and said, "Hello, Captain."

"You know me?" Jessie asked, stunned.

The man nodded. "Yes. When I was summoned, someone—perhaps the system—uploaded memories into my mind. I know why I'm here. My name is Vash. Vash the Stampede. From my world, they called me a gunslinger, a wanderer of chaos and peace. But here, I'm your third crewmember."

Jessie chuckled in disbelief. "Damn. Vash, huh? A legend."

Elsewhere on the ship, Kuina and Uta had sensed the sudden shift in energy and arrived at Jessie's room.

Uta peeked inside and blinked in confusion. "Who is that?"

Jessie turned and smiled. "Ladies, meet our third crewmember. A gunslinger."

Vash turned with a goofy grin, scratching the back of his head. "Nice to meet you, ladies."

Kuina narrowed her eyes. "You don't look like a swordsman."

Vash laughed. "Definitely not. But if you need someone who can shoot the wings off a fly from 500 meters, I'm your guy."

Uta folded her arms. "Jessie… are you collecting weirdos again?"

Jessie shrugged. "Only the best ones."

Vash bowed dramatically. "I may be a weirdo, but I've got your back."

Despite his odd behavior, there was something undeniably reliable about him. Kuina relaxed and extended a hand. "Alright, Gunslinger. Welcome aboard."

Vash shook her hand with a smile. "Happy to be here, Swordmaiden."

As the night deepened, the crew gathered on the main deck. Jessie stood at the helm, looking out toward the horizon.

"We have power," he said. "We have purpose. And now, we have people. Voidreign is just getting started."

The waves crashed against the hull. Stars filled the sky.

Below deck, Kuina practiced her new sword skills in the training room, slicing through magical constructs with elegance and fury.

Uta sat with Vash near the music lounge, tuning her guitar while observing the new gunslinger with growing curiosity.

Jessie returned to his room, opening a map of the Grand Line.

"Next stop," he muttered. "An island under siege… and a fallen prince waiting to rise."

The adventure was only beginning.
