Ava quickened her pace, the black SUV tailing her. She ducked into a nearby subway station, losing the SUV in the crowded tunnels.
At the secure location, Rachel introduced Ava to Jack, the former journalist. Jack's rugged demeanor and piercing blue eyes put Ava at ease.
"Rachel's told me about your investigation," Jack said, his voice low and serious. "I'm in."
