Chapter 7 - Epilogue: The Wreck

Excerpt from the Maritime Herald :

"A storm off the coast unearthed debris from an unidentified 17th-century shipwreck. Archaeologists note the vessel's peculiar state—barnacle-encrusted but eerily preserved, as if sank recently. No bodies were recovered."

Lily folded the newspaper, her gaze drifting to the horizon. The sea lay calm, its whispers silenced. Her locket—whole and unbroken since Élodie gave it to her—hung lightly around her neck, its ship engraving gleaming in the sunlight.

She touched it, the metal warm, not with magic, but with memory. "It's over."

Outside, waves lapped the shore, their rhythm gentle, forgiving.

For the first time in centuries, the tide forgot.
