Liu Yan was listening intently in class, absorbing everything the teacher said about cultivation. He wished he could immediately get back to his room and start right away but he couldn't do as such.
"The true way to cultivating isn't just circulating your soul power through your body. You have to understand your martial soul and understand yourself. No matter how weak your martial soul looks. You have to accept it. Is that clear?" the teacher said while looking at her students. "Next, we'll talk about soul ring ages…"
The voice of the teacher gradually faded from Liu Yan's ears. He had remembered clearly about the knowledge of soul rings in his past.
He looked to his right hand, "understanding… my martial soul? I guess I have to do research" he thought, planning to head to the library after this.
"Liu Yan student, is it that you believe that this class isn't going to help you?" the teachers voice suddenly sounded in his ears, he looked back up and saw everyone staring at him.
"No. I'm sorry" he said while embarrassed.
"Hmph, pay attention" the teacher said before continuing. "Now, it is also important that when you hunt for a soul ring, you get one that has similar attributes to your martial soul. If not, not only do you risk being weaker than those on the same level, you also risk your your soul rings and martial soul rejecting each other, causing you to explode" she said with a tone of seriousness.
All the students couldn't help but shudder at the thought of exploding and not even being able to know when it happened before dying.
This also brought up another issue for Liu Yan, where was he gonna find so many crystal soul beasts. He would have go underground a lot to find crystal soul beasts.
After classes ended, everyone went straight to the cafeteria for lunch. As the students of dorm seven were minding their own business, a voice rang out "Why if it isn't the losers of dorm seven. You all could only dream of entering the second floor to dine but you can never reach it" the yellow haired boy smirked.
The boy looked at them "Didn't notice before but they have not one, but two cute girls down there. Too bad they're still losers" the rest of the students on the second floor laughed.
Xiao Wu was about to jump and kick this arrogant kid when she was stopped by Tang San.
"Wang Sheng, it seems you and your dorm mates are getting more and more cocky. To the point you forget where your place is." The boy upstairs said disdain, looking at at the kid who was the previous boss of dorm seven.
Wang Sheng could only clench his fist, but couldn't do anything, he didn't want to end up in trouble.
Suddenly, Xiao Wu escaped Tang San's grip and jumped up, kicking at the kid.
"Shield martial soul, possess!" the kid yelled in surprise before a energy shield formed but he couldn't block in time and got kicked away.
A kid who was standing in the back suddenly summoned his staff martial soul, preparing to hit Xiao Wu.
"Stop! No private fights in campus" an authoritative voice sounded, it was Grandmaster. Everyone immediately stopped their prepared attacks.
Xiao Wu landed safely back on the ground floor and sticked her tongue out at the students at the second floor.
Grandmaster looked at Tang San "Xiao San, do you want to eat with me at the second floor?"
Tang San looked at the rest of his dormmates who were getting their food before shaking his head. "No, teacher. I think I'll eat with my dorm mates"
Grandmaster nodded before heading to the second floor. Wang Sheng suddenly asked "Tang San, did you actually just call Grandmaster your teacher? Don't you know? He's only a level 29 grand soul master and hasn't broken through in decades." Wang Sheng told Tang San, expecting him to agree with him.
Tang San looked at Wang Sheng with a silent anger "Yes, I do know of that, but I made my choice. Don't bother trying to change my mind or anything." He said before walking away to get his food.
Wang Sheng scratched his head in confusion, not expecting such a reaction from Tang San. "Sorry?"
After lunch, there was no more classes. Some went to play around while others started cultivating. Liu Yan had headed to the spot he requested from the dean, there stood a few upright sturdy logs of wood, he begin to temper his body. Punching and kicking, training his hand to hand combat.
A few hours had passed by, the sun was setting. Liu Yan sat on the grass, leaning against the barely dented log of wood, sweating profusely. It was intense for him, the fact that his body held out so many hours of training surprised him.
He started to feel sleepy, about to doze off from the lack of energy. "Liu Yan, what are you doing?" He heard a soft voice call him.
He opened his eyes to see the short Ying Xuan standing in front of him. "Oh, hello Ying Xuan." He rubbed his eyes before standing up.
"Just finished training. Thank you for calling out to me. I fear I might have fallen asleep out here" he was truly glad she called out. How embarrassing would it be if he was found outside the next morning.
"N-no problem" Ying Xuan said shyly before following him back to the dorm.
The moment they got back, Liu Yan rushed to shower and clean himself. Only after that, did he get on the bed, starting his cultivation. It was indeed a weird sensation to circulate soul power through his body. He's just gonna have to get used to this feeling.
A week had passed by, Liu Yan heard that Tang San was going to be setting out to find his first soul ring with Grandmaster soon. During one of the classes. He had also been getting closer to Ying Xuan.
"Alright class, tell me. Do you think there is another way to cultivate other than circulating your soul power?" the teacher inquired to her students. Someone raised their hand, "Teacher, I've heard of another way to cultivate from my parents. They said it was called dual-soul training"
The teacher smiled before nodding, "Yes that is right, however, this cultivation method requires two soul master that have martial soul with very similar attributes. Another fact to consider is that, dual cultivations work better if both parties have a mutual friendship or relationship." the teacher explained clearly.
Liu Yan, upon hearing this looked at Ying Xuan beside him, who avoided eye contact. "Ying Xuan... wanna try it?". Hearing this, she looked at him for a bit before nodding slowly.
Liu Yan needed this, he had only gotten to Level 7 in his soul power after a week, he needed it to be higher. He wanted to be stronger in a quicker manner.
In the evening, he sat cross-legged facing Ying Xuan, holding her hand and circulating his soul power. He felt his soul power pass through his hand into her body and vice versa. He could feel, a significant boost in his cultivation speed.
They continued this method until it was midnight. They opened their eyes, both were filled with surprise. Liu Yan didn't know that Ying Xuan was already Level 9 in soul power. Because of this, he gained a lot of boost from this power gap, he was on the verge of breaking the bottleneck to Level 9 in soul power too.
Liu Yan smiled at Ying Xuan "This really helped, Ying Ying!" he said without realizing what he called her. She upon hearing what he called her blushed a little and smiled. "It helped me too, I felt the bottleneck to Level 10 loosen."
They laughed when they suddenly heard a worker about to open the door, due to hearing their voices. They immediately laid down on the bed, pretending to be asleep.
The worker soon left after doing a brief check. Liu Yan sat back up and looked around and saw no signs of the worker and breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at Ying Xuan, who had really fallen asleep during the worker's inspection.

This chapter was a bit more rushed so there may be some mistakes. As you see, Fu Tian wasn't even mentioned this chapter, like I said, you'll have to read my friend's fanfic too to see what he does.
If you all don't mind, put a review and rate this book. I want to hear your thoughts. If a lot of them are good reviews, it'll motivate me to write and publish more.
