The world stood on the brink of complete destruction.
Eris Yuvathar, the abominable witch, faced a Potestas—a monstrous entity from another dimension. The creature had slipped into this world, and the consequences were catastrophic.
Seventy percent of all living beings had been wiped out. Most of civilization's infrastructure lay in ruins.
Now, Eris stood before the Potestas, both grievously wounded. She had lost her left arm; the creature had lost half its body.
Their battle had raged for at least a month. Many mages and knights had tried to aid her, but few could match the Potestas' speed—and most had perished in the attempt.
Only the supreme witch could stand against it.
Seizing a fleeting opportunity, Eris stunned the creature. Already weakened, the monster would not rise again for at least a full minute.
"Soon, you'll awaken and recover, and our battle will resume," the witch muttered. "But we don't have that luxury. The world is already in ruins. Any more conflict between us would ensure its annihilation."
With those words, Eris cast a spell that enveloped both the Potestas and herself.
"You must leave this world," she declared. "And I have no place here—not now. So I will banish us both."
The devastation had been too great. Centuries would pass before the world could heal—but Eris refused to wait. She would banish the creature and reincarnate herself into the future.
"This spell grows stronger when I impose a penalty upon myself," she explained. "By banishing you to your own dimension and destroying my physical body in this era, I will ensure you cannot return for at least a million years."
A circular formula flared beneath their feet, glowing with immense power. At the same time, the Potestas began to stir.

A blinding light erupted—and in the next instant, both figures had vanished.
