Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Collapse of All Things

---

Codex Alert:

Reality Collapse: Full. Override Failed. System Integrity: Critical.

*Entity Detected: The Awakening—Recalibrating Parameters. Quantum Essence: Instability Reached.

---

Auron stood in the center of the disintegrating landscape, his body vibrating with the raw power he had just unleashed. The rift that had torn open the fabric of the Codex was widening, reality itself splintering into impossible angles and shapes. The ground beneath him shuddered with every passing moment as if the very earth was pleading for release.

The Awakening—now reduced to a flickering silhouette of its former self—took a step forward, its form barely holding together, as though it were caught between realms. Its voice, a crackling whisper, echoed with a sharpness that rattled the air.

> "You think you've won? You think you've become more than just a glitch in the system?"

Auron's smirk remained unchanged, even as the space around him bent and buckled like it was struggling to keep up with his words.

> "I'm not just a glitch," Auron shot back, his voice dark and steady. "I'm the glitch."

The Awakening's form twisted, and for the briefest of moments, it seemed to lose all coherence, as if its very existence was collapsing under the pressure of Auron's words. But then, in an instant, it reformed—glaring at him with an intensity that threatened to burn through the very air.

> "Your arrogance will break you."

Auron's laugh echoed through the void. "Arrogance? No, no. This is confidence. A very different beast."

Outside the Codex…

The world was losing its grip. Devices flickered back to life, and social media exploded in chaos, as though the world had been forced into an unsettling wake.

Every screen, every post, every feed was now dominated by one name: Auron. The theories, the memes, the questions—they were all the same.

> "Is Auron a hero, or is he the world's most dangerous villain?"

"Did he break the system? Is the Codex gone for good?"

"What's next? What is the Awakening?"

People weren't just talking about the story anymore. They were living it.

---

Inside the Codex…

Auron stood unwavering as the rift deepened. He could feel the energy swirling around him—the Codex trying, in its dying moments, to push back. The flickers of the system's last defense sent waves of static through the air, but Auron didn't flinch.

He could feel it—the other side. It was beckoning him, a force unlike anything he had encountered before. And as he reached for it, a familiar voice crackled through the chaos:

> "You can't do this."

Auron didn't turn. He didn't have to. He knew exactly who it was.

> "You're right," Auron said, his hand still glowing with overwhelming energy. "I can't do this. Not alone."

There was a brief pause, and then—

> "You've already broken the system once. You don't need help to finish it off."

Auron's lips twitched into a smile.

> "Oh, I know. But sometimes, even a glitch needs backup."

---

Outside the Codex…

As Auron's words reverberated through the shattered world of the Codex, the entire globe felt the ripple. The energy was palpable, rising in intensity. It was no longer just a question of Auron's fate—it was about the fate of everyone.

And then, it happened.

The server systems crashed again. But this time, the crash wasn't a failure. It was an invitation.

For the first time in history, the world wasn't just a spectator. They were participants. Screens turned into portals, millions of devices flashing with streams of data and light as people around the world began receiving strange signals, like a call. A challenge.

---

Inside the Codex…

The Awakening's presence seemed to collapse entirely for a split second, as if its essence were breaking apart completely. But then it reformed—larger, more imposing, and dripping with pure rage.

> "You think you can bring them into this?" The Awakening's voice thundered, shaking the rift. "You can't control them any more than you can control me!"

Auron turned his head slightly, his smirk widening. "You still don't get it, do you?" He straightened his stance, the glow around him intensifying. "This was never about control."

---

Outside the Codex…

The world held its breath.

The messages flooded in from every corner. A force was rising, but it wasn't just Auron—it was everyone.

> "Did Auron just hack reality?"

"I can hear it... I can feel it."

"Something is coming."

---

Inside the Codex…

Auron stepped forward, the power of the Codex now surging through him. He could feel the strings of reality unraveling with every step he took. The Awakening was struggling now, not to maintain its form, but to understand what was happening.

> "You've been living in a script you didn't write," Auron said, his voice low, but cutting through the chaos like a blade. "But it's my story now. And that means we're going to end things... on my terms."

The ground cracked beneath his feet, and the world around them shifted again—unstable, fragile, like a house of cards ready to fall. The Awakening screamed in fury, but it couldn't stop the inevitable.

---

Outside the Codex…

The signal flared one last time, then disappeared.

> "It's over. We've lost."

But as soon as the final word appeared on screens, a new message flooded in from every corner of the globe.

> "The Awakening was never the end. It was just the beginning."
