Chapter 10 - Disaster

Hearing Long Tian's voice, everyone left their tents with their weapons in their hands.

They clearly had been spying…

Bian Mei, who was in a very compromising position, jumped back in fright when she heard his voice and saw everyone getting out of the tents.

"What do you mean, Tang Tian?"

Reng Huang asked as he looked around, seeing nothing but darkness.

Bian Lian was about to say something when she was interrupted.

Suddenly, there was a loud sound followed by a pained scream just behind Long Tian.

Long Tian immediately turned back with his sword already in hand, just to see a body at the edge of their encampment drop to the floor.

The body was headless, but the most bizarre thing was that it had just appeared out of nowhere.

"Still sharp as ever huh, old Dragon Queen."

There came a voice from the other side of the camp.

Suddenly, dozens of people dressed in black appeared all around their tents.

Each one just materialized from nothing, mere meters away from their tents.

"Who are you guys?"

Reng Huang asked him while motioning everyone to stay close with his hands.

"It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is what we are here to do."

The voice came again, this time they could identify the one speaking.

It was a middle aged man, the only one with his face uncovered, as if he could not bother to put a mask on.

"We are here for a special someone."

He spoke, suddenly smirking,

"I heard you call him Tang Tian. Oh boy are you going to be surprised."

The man said while looking at Long Tian, who realized they were here for him.

He didn't even know how they knew he was from the Long Clan, no one in the shelter had realized.

Albeit his eye color was uncommon in the alliance, it was not a feature only found in the Long Clan.

"Isn't that right, Long Tian?"

Hearing that, shock passed through all of the Green Arrow Group.

Bian Mei even turned to look at Long Tian with her mouth agape.

"You are from the Long Clan?!"

She asked, but her sister rapidly poked her, reminding her that they were surrounded by enemies.

All of them were shocked. This was the Long Clan after all.

The richest clan in the alliance, ranked first in the Heaven List. The Long Clan was an unattainable existence to them.

And now someone said they had been walking, talking, joking, hunting and even almost kissing turned out to be a member of the Long Clan.

At that moment, the man's voice sounded again.

"Not just a 'member' of the Long Clan. We are all in the presence of the illustrious Young Master of Long Clan."

The man continued smirking, voice dripping with sarcasm, finding the situation a little amusing.

This revelation shocked the group even more and caused all of them to look towards Long Tian, disregarding the enemies completely.

This was only a natural reaction. Afterall, one thing was to be part of the Long Clan. But it was another matter entirely to be the Young Master of the Long Clan.

Being a member did not mean one had power, it simply implied that their background was impressive.

The Young Master, however, was a position of true power. This was the main heir of the Long Clan.

Someone destined to become a Gene General, and they had all interacted with him without even knowing.

Seeing the shock in everyone's eyes, the man seemed to be satisfied and finally said.

"Alright, that's enough. Although I didn't expect you to be able to detect us, this just make this even more necessary."

Then, with a sudden killing intent in his eyes, he ordered,

"Don't leave anyone alive. Also, make him suffer a bit."

As soon as his voice fell, all the people around advanced at the same time.

They were fast, incredibly fast, the majority were almost as fast as Long Tian, and some of them were much faster.

Two of the man in black, however, stayed behind. The middle-aged man and another figure in all black.

They just waited there without interfering, as if waiting for something to happen.

Suddenly, just as this group of people was about to reach Long Tian and his friends, a woman appeared from nowhere.

She appeared in front of Long Tian, so fast that Long Tian could not even react before she made her move.

She first swung the blade in her hand, clearly made from a high concentration of Z-Metal from its slightly black color.

She moved too fast, faster than anyone attacking or defending could react.

She decapitated three people coming for Long Tian, and just as she was about to continue killing, the middle aged man and his companion moved.

They were incredibly fast, but Long Tian could tell they were a bit slower than the woman.

They reached the woman after she managed to kill two more assailers.

They immediately attacked together, forcing the woman to defend herself, allowing for the others to finally reach the group.

They were in formation, with the three archers in the center and the five melees around them.

The three archers reacted first, loosing their arrows towards three people coming towards them.

However, what happened next shocked all of them.

The three targets of the arrows simply grabbed the arrows in the air and snapped them in half.

Including the arrows of Bian Mei and Bian Lian.

To know, these two were sacred blood arrows, not something that could be casually snaped like that.

Immediately, Bian Lian shouted,

"Be careful, these people are stronger than super beasts!"

The words caused the group's expression to immediately shift, their eyes solemn and fearful, looking at the approaching blurs of speed as if looking at the greatest terrors of the first sanctuaries, the Super Beast.

The first one to contact the enemy was Lei Ru. A figure in black appeared by his side, wielding a dagger.

Lei Ru tried to defend himself, jumping back, but the man was too fast.

Long Tian, who had no enemies close, as the three freaks of nature were fighting close to him, tried to dash and help.

However, his speed failed him for the first time.

Long Ru was stabbed three times in a fraction of a second. Once in the heart, once in the neck and lastly through the eyes.

His corpse immediately fell down, causing everyone in the group to widen their eyes in horror.

"LEI RU!!!"

Lei Mu screamed in shock.

He tried to run towards his brother, but another figure reached him first.

This time, the figure was using a knife, but the result was the same, stabbed through the heart, neck and eye. Clearly, these people used the same modus operandi.

"Focus, try to survive!"

Was the last thing Reng Huang said, as his prided shield was cut through by a sword user, clearly stronger than the dagger and knife users.

Reng Huang was decapitated just like that, his body also falling to the ground.

Long Tian was dashing, as fast as he could, trying to reach the archers so he could try and defend them, but he suddenly sensed danger and had to stop, swirling around and swinging his sword, intercepting a dagger headed straight towards his heart.

But as soon as his sword touched the dagger, it was cut through. Long Tian jumped back but was still grazed in the chest by the dagger, which was clearly poisoned.

Long Tian started feeling his strength abandon him as soon he felt the cut.

Gritting his teeth and looking towards the fight of the middle-aged man, the mysterious figure and the woman, he saw that they were holding her back, though they were already injured.

He could see shock in the man's expression, clearly something was not going according to plan.

He just hoped their plans were stopped before all of them died.

Long Tian saw the man with the dagger dash towards him once again and had to summon a Sacred Blood sword, which he used to once again parry the attack.

This time the blade managed to block the dagger, but it instantly became chipped, almost snapping.

Long Tian tried to attack back, but was immediately forced to dodge as another dagger wielding figure attacked him.

At that moment, he heard a feminine scream.

"NOOO!!"

It was Bian Mei's, which caused him to look towards her direction.

What he saw chilled him to the bone.

Guan Zhun's corpse was on the ground, without a head.

Close to him, Bian Mei was holding another headless corpse. It was Bian Lian's.

Suddenly, a figure wielding a scimitar appeared behind Bian Mei.

"BIAN MEI!!"

Long Tian's scream was the last thing she heard. Her eyes looked at him even as her head flied through the air.

Long Tian immediately shook, his eyes widening and breathing becoming ragged.

The effect of the poison together with the massive emotional shock pushed him to a panic attack.

At that moment, all figures surrounded him.

His panic turned into anger.

He immediately became mad, swinging his sword towards one of the sword users, who parried and broke his blade.

Long Tian, no longer thinking rationally, took out the beast soul he got from the sacred blood deer.

A completely white staff appeared in his hands. Its sight made all the figures pause, as if trying to comprehend how he had a Super Beast Soul.

He swung it again at the sword user, who parried, but this time the staff did not break.

Then, Long Tian felt a slash in his back, followed by one on his left side, then the right, then the leg.

He was slashed more than ten times in one second.

The man wielding the scimitar then reached his position, kicking him in the back of the knee with full force, causing his knee to almost explode, a sickening crack sound echoed.

He screamed while falling down.

Long Tian, now on the ground, looked up; all figures were looking at him.

Although he could not see their faces, he could tell they were gloating at his suffering.

At that moment, there was a sudden explosion close by, which caused everyone to look.

The fight between the woman and the other two had finished, two corpses laid on the ground, the woman nowhere to be seen.

Suddenly, heads started disappearing.

The man wielding the scimitar tried to slash at Long Tian in panic, but his head rolled next.

Long Tian watched as every figure around him lost their heads and fell.

Each one tried to attack him before dying but could not get the attack even halfway through.

Suddenly, the only thing Long Tian heard was someone panting.

He tried to move his head, but his body barely obeyed his commands.

Suddenly, he was picked up. He could feel himself being put in someone's back and heard one last thing before passing out.

"Please, endure Young Master."

The voice was laced in concern.

The last thing he saw was his surroundings blurring, going at a speed he never experienced before.

And then everything faded to black.
