Chapter 3 - Into the Game

The spacecraft gently touched down at the docking bay of Aurora's family mansion, its sleek silver exterior gleaming under the soft glow of Celestara's evening lights. Aurora stepped out, her heart still racing from the day's incredible experiences in Stellarion, the city in space. Her parents followed close behind, their expressions warm and content.

At the entrance to their home, her father placed a hand on her shoulder. "We're proud of you, Aurora. Enjoy your evening."

Her mother smiled. "We'll be heading back to work now, but we'll see you tomorrow."

Aurora nodded, watching as her parents boarded their private hovercraft and disappeared into the night sky toward their respective jobs. She turned back to the mansion, its towering structure illuminated by soft golden lights that seemed to shimmer against the backdrop of stars.

Before heading inside, Aurora paused by the large open window in the main lounge. The view from their mansion was breathtaking—Celestara at night was a masterpiece of advanced technology and architectural brilliance. Neon lights painted the cityscape in vibrant hues of pink, blue, and purple, creating an otherworldly glow that reflected off levitating buildings and floating gardens.

Hovercrafts zipped through designated airways like shooting stars, their paths marked by holographic trails that shimmered in midair. Automated drones buzzed quietly as they maintained the lush greenery suspended on terraces. In the distance, towering skyscrapers pulsed with light patterns that resembled constellations, as if the city itself were alive and breathing.

Aurora let out a soft sigh, marveling at the beauty of her home city. It was moments like this that reminded her how fortunate she was to live in a world where technology had transformed reality into something extraordinary.

After a few minutes of quiet reflection, Aurora headed upstairs to her room. She washed off the day's excitement and changed into a comfortable yet stylish outfit—a sleek black jumpsuit with silver accents that complemented her silver-white hair.

---

Feeling refreshed, she made her way to her gaming room—a space designed for immersion and innovation. The room was vast, with walls lined by holographic panels displaying live feeds from gaming tournaments and virtual landscapes. At its center stood her VR pod, a cutting-edge piece of equipment that resembled a futuristic cocoon. Its surface gleamed with polished metal, and faint lines of light pulsed along its edges like veins carrying energy.

Aurora sat down at her desk and initiated a video call with her friends. Lena's face appeared first, followed by Kai and Mira, each of them grinning with excitement.

"Happy birthday again!" Kai said enthusiastically. "Ready for tonight?"

Aurora smiled. "Definitely. So what do we know about Game Genesis so far?"

Mira pulled up some information on her screen and shared it with the group. "It's trending everywhere—millions of downloads already! And apparently, it's unlike anything we've ever played before."

Lena added, "I heard it uses advanced AI to create worlds that evolve dynamically based on player interactions."

Kai leaned closer to his camera. "And don't forget—you got an invitation code! That means you'll have extra credits for customization."

Aurora raised an eyebrow. "Credits?"

"Yeah," Lena explained. "I did some research—players with invitation codes start off with more resources for creating weapons or abilities than regular players."

Kai smirked. "Basically, you're starting off ahead of everyone else."

Aurora nodded thoughtfully as they continued discussing the game's features. After a few minutes of excited chatter, they ended the call to prepare for their individual sessions.

---

Alone in her gaming room now, Aurora approached her VR pod. She pressed a button on its side, causing its sleek exterior to slide open smoothly. Inside was a padded seat that adjusted automatically to fit her posture perfectly.

She settled into the seat as a helmet-like device descended slowly over her head, enveloping her face in darkness before glowing faintly with soft blue light. The pod closed around her with a gentle hiss, sealing her inside as it shifted into a reclining position that mimicked sleep.

Aurora took a deep breath and relaxed as the pod activated fully. She felt an odd sensation—like being pulled forward through space at unimaginable speed. Colors and shapes blurred past her vision: swirling galaxies, streaks of light resembling shooting stars, and abstract patterns that seemed alive with energy.

It felt as though she were traveling through dimensions beyond comprehension—an exhilarating yet calming experience that left her breathless.

After what felt like an eternity of motion, everything suddenly stilled. Aurora found herself floating in an endless black void dotted with white spots resembling stars in the night sky. These spots seemed both near enough to touch and impossibly distant—a paradoxical beauty that left her captivated.

In front of her appeared translucent screens displaying portraits of games installed in her pod's system—each one glowing faintly as if alive. Aurora scanned through them until she realized Game Genesis wasn't yet downloaded.

She called up the game store interface with a simple gesture. A large translucent screen materialized before her, showcasing trending games along with ratings and download statistics.

At the top of the list was Game Genesis, marked by glowing text indicating its popularity: "#1 Trending Game – Millions Downloaded."

Aurora tapped on it without hesitation. The download began instantly, taking only seconds before completing successfully.

As soon as it finished downloading, Game Genesis appeared alongside other game portraits on the screen—but its design was strikingly different from anything Aurora had seen before.

The portrait resembled an intricate curtain shimmering with iridescent colors that shifted constantly—blue merging into gold, silver fading into violet—as if it were alive and breathing. Behind the curtain glowed faint silhouettes of unknown worlds waiting to be explored.

Aurora reached out toward it instinctively—and in an instant, she was pulled forward once again.

The sensation returned: traveling through unknown distances filled with blinding lights and surreal shapes rushing past her vision until everything stabilized once more.

A robotic voice sound: "Welcome to Game Genesis."

Aurora floated again in darkness surrounded by white star-like spots scattered across infinite space—a serene yet mysterious setting that felt both comforting and awe-inspiring.

A holographic screen materialized before her, displaying her current appearance: slightly curly silver-white hair cascading down past her shoulders; piercing blue eyes; a fit physique clad in the same sleek black jumpsuit she had worn earlier.

She admired herself briefly before confirming her appearance—the game allowed only minor enhancements but no changes to one's natural look—and moved on to weapon customization.

The next screen presented recommended weapons: swords glowing faintly with energy or bows crafted from translucent material—but none appealed to Aurora's imagination.

Instead, she chose to customize her own weapon using credits granted by her invitation code—a privilege that gave her far more resources than average players.

Aurora envisioned something unique: a perfect white cube radiating elegance and simplicity yet capable of evolving over time as she grew stronger within the game world.

She then began crafting it with the help of the game's forge, pouring all available credits into its design while unknowingly embedding hidden potential within its system—potential even she couldn't yet comprehend.

As soon as she finalized the forge's creation, it floated in front of her, glowing silently.

"I'll call it 'Kairos,'" She thought. But for now, she simply refers to it as the White Box, a name that reflects its simplicity and elegance.

After admiring it for a second, it then shoot toward her forehead and merged seamlessly into her skin—leaving behind an elegant tattoo glowing softly with white light.

Suddenly, everything around Aurora lit up brilliantly before shattering like glass fragments scattering across infinite space. She closed her eyes instinctively against the blinding light—and when she opened them again…

Noise surrounded her: voices murmuring excitedly; footsteps echoing across vast surfaces; weapons humming faintly with energy.

Aurora stood amidst the crowd—and when seen from above—the sheer scale of the lobby became apparent. The ceiling stretched so high it seemed to disappear into infinity, beautifully crafted with intricate patterns that shimmered under soft light like constellations etched into stonework.

The lobby itself was vast—a sprawling expanse where players looked like tiny figures compared to towering curtains that loomed over them like monuments guarding hidden worlds beyond their reach.

White lights occasionally appeared nearby as new players arrived—confused at first but quickly marveling at their surroundings just like Aurora had moments ago. While some of them was already familiar.

As Aurora looked around, she saw players with unique weapons and tattoos, each one a testament to their creativity and skill. Some were gathered near curtains, discussing strategies or celebrating victories. Others were alone, observing the maps with keen eyes, planning their next move.

Announcements echoed through the lobby, audible from every corner: "Team Iron Eclipse has successfully cleared Map Solara-V in record time: 11 minutes 30 seconds! Congratulations on achieving this week's fastest time!"

In the distance, Aurora noticed one massive curtain slowly descending like a veil over its frame—it marked another completed map run—and crowds gathered near it cheering loudly for victorious players emerging triumphantly from within.

She stood there, taking it all in—her eyes scanning the vast expanse of the lobby, the towering curtains, and the endless stream of players moving with purpose. The atmosphere was electric, filled with anticipation and excitement.
