" What are you?"
The girl's eyes glowed green as she stepped back. She was wary of Luc. She had seen his eyes just now. They weren't ordinary. They were definitely not the color of a Mage's eyes. It seemed...dark.
Luc looked at her confused. Did she see him? Did she see his eyes? But it didn't make sense. Why then was she afraid? Luc scanned her expression. She seemed afraid of him. Or afraid of what she thought he was. Even he didn't know what he was.
" I'm a mage–—"
" Do you take me for a fool?! I know a mage when I see one. I can smell it. But you. I can't smell anything coming from you. But your eyes just now...." The girl lowered her hands as she grasped her head desperately. She didn't know who she kidnapped. She just kidnapped him because he was looking for Lysiums. She thought perhaps, he was one of them. One of those evil ones. But now...
" Alright fine. I'm not a mage. But I'm also not whatever it is you think I am. I'm basically harmless".
The girl stopped grasping her hair. She froze. She turned to look at him with a look of horror. " Harmless?.... You're...harmless?"
Her expression changed drastically from fear to anger as she lifted her hands in his direction. Her hair became wild as it looked like she was in a storm. Luc felt his neck tighten. His breath shortened. All strength was fading from his body.
He didn't know what to do. This girl was definitely a witch. This was witchcraft. His eyesight was fading again. But this time, a long with all his other senses. She was killing him.
He gasped desperately for air. He didn't know what to do or say to make this girl stop. But just then, he felt a surge of darkness well up in his mind. He didn't know what happened but what he felt at that moment....power.
The girl noticed the drastic energy change. She was confused. Luc noticed the grip had loosened. He didn't know how but the energy in him was like a force shot directly at the girl.
The girl flew back due to impact as her whole body hit the wall and fell down. Dark blood oozed out of her lips but she was quick to wipe it. Still on the floor, she looked at the boy in front of her.
Luc slowly stood up, trying to steady himself. He looked at the girl and was a surprised. He really didn't know what happened. But he was happy it did.
" I really do mean no harm. All I want are those flowers and I am willing to tell you why".
....
The room was eerily quiet. Both sat on opposite sides with stern faces. Luc was very cautious not to do something that would provoke the little witch.
He looked at her. It didn't seem like she was going to give him anything to drink or eat, not like he expected it. He was about to speak when, " Speak. What do you want with Lysiums?"
He looked at the girl, speechless. She was definitely straight to the point type. He sighed as he answered honestly.
" I have this condition. I don't really know what it is. To be honest, no one does. But it's not surprise since I've never told anyone. The thing is....I can see....things. Things that I'm not supposed to see. I also don't think others can see it. It only lasts for about three minutes. After that, my eyesight goes back to normal. But I become temporarily blind. I don't know why or how I got this... ability. But I want to get rid of it, especially the blindness".
" The soup from Lysiums cures my temporary blindness. I discovered it while looking through some recipes a while ago. It isn't exactly tasty but I have to take it. Other than the purpose of curing my temporary blindness, I have no other purpose for the flowers, I swear. Like I said, I'm harmless".
The girl's gaze remained the same, scrutinizing. After a while, she sighed. " I can tell that you are telling the truth. But...did you just say that you can see...things? What kind of things? " The girl seemed genuinely curious. Luc wished he knew the answer but he didn't. He really didn't know what those things were.
The girl looked at him, expecting a response. But then, it looked like she thought of something as her expression changed. " Wait a minute. C-Can you d-describe what exactly it is that you see?"
Luc tried hard to put together what he saw in words. They were kind of like shadows. But at the same time they weren't. Some didn't have legs as they just floated. Others had legs but didn't move. Some followed people around and stuck to them just like their shadow. But they could speak. It could speak.
They were like...Shadow Spirits that appeared and disappeared whenever his visions activated. He really didn't know what they were. " Well, they are sort of like....shadowy spirits? They usually have white or purple eyes. Some of them float while some walk. I really don't know what they are".
The girl seemed confused. She rubbed her chin while deep in thought. After about a minute, she stopped as her eyes widened and realization dawned on her.
" When did you start seeing these things?"
Luc's eyes dimmed as he thought about his first time seeing those things. It was there, in his mother's bedroom. While looking at his mother's lifeless body, little Aiden noticed some sort of shadow spirit at the corner of the room. It was staring at his mother's body.
The spirit looked at him and then back at his mother's body. He really didn't know how long he stared at that thing. But he had a familiar feeling. Like that was his mother. He didn't understand it.
" I first saw it when my mother killed herself. It seemed like it was my mother's spirit. I really don't know why, but I felt a sense of familiarity with it. That feeling of satisfaction. I really didn't understand. I still don't" Luc explained.
The girl looked at him for a moment. " I have a hunch. I have a feeling that you're....a user of dark magic"
