My twelve year old sister , Scarlett , was hiding behind the coral reef using seaweed to cover her eyes .
"There you are, I've found you, I won , what is my treasure for playing this silly little game."
"I wasn't playing hide and seek with you, Stella ."
"Don't be harsh to your big sister dearie, that won't do you any good and you know that , don't you ?", I asked as I pinched her soft baby cheeks with a wicked grin.
"I am not scared of you and get your filthy hands off my skin, will you? What do you want anyway? She asked rhetorically .
" I think we both know exactly why I'm here ", I said while letting go off her cheek as I pulled her towards me and held her tightly as I swam back to the house before she could think of running away like the previous time.
" Why are you being utterly wicked, Stella ? You know I don't want to be a part of this, I love humans, they are pretty cool, why can't you help me out, just let me go this time, please. I promise I won't tell anyone, you can tell dad that you didn't see me", Scarlet pleaded in front of the palace.
" Firstly, I prefer the word diabolical or nasty to wicked, let this be a warning to you
You forget that our father, King Sebastian, the Ruler of the southern seas, the Emperor of the waters and the god of war among the realms would notice that something was amiss and send Scott , the royal shark to look for you, how foolish can you be, Scarlett? I asked her as she started looking depressed all of a sudden.
"I can go to Walter's pack and hide, Scott can't track me there" , she pleaded.
"Have you been visiting the werewolf pack without father's permission ". I was shocked at the her comeback statement .
"Stella, you know the last hunt was wild and I have not experienced this one, I don't even know if it would hurt like the last one". She said looking so hurt
I dreaded all land creatures especially the humans, they've taken away everything that the siren kingdom stood for . My father always told it to me as a bedtime story as a child. Well, I would tell you about it another day but today was a special day , it was not like any other day , this was the first time my sister , Scarlett was experiencing a full wolf moon. My father made it a tradition in the kingdom that every celestial event, the princesses were to lure a hundred souls to their demise . Whenever I asked him why , he told me that the souls are sacrifices to appease my mother . Honestly, it doesn't make sense to me because according to my Aunt, Aunt Sage , my mother , Queen Sabrina was a powerful goddess, she was the best fighter among the realms and a great ruler and that she loved journaling her victories and failures. That was all she told me about my mom. I don't have any memory of my mom as a kid . Father hated bringing up matters concerning Mom, no matter how curious Scarlett and I were about mom, we were prohibited from talking about her . On my eighteenth birthday, Aunt Sage gave me something I will forever treasure.
"Take this, let it be a reminder that my sister is always with you and she is watching over you all the time. I'm sure your mother will be very proud of you." She handed me the diary as she hugged me and ever since, I vowed to keep writing my adventures , my failures, my life for her .
" I'm sorry, I was bored, they didn't harm me and they won't. It's ok, I feel safe with them but please, I beg you, don't tell Father ." She said apologetically.
"You are fully aware that today is a full wolf moon and that their wolf genes would be very active, they didn't hurt you doesn't mean they can't or won't in the future or even today "
"Stop saying that, they are my friends, Walter will never let them hurt me "
"Scarlett, you are a siren, Walter is a werewolf, not just any werewolf but an alpha. He could kill you "
"So where do you want me to go then, huh, you want me to stay with the vampires or the dwarfs or the mermaids or the fairies " she kept on babbling on and on.
I didn't give her a chance to speak further as I dragged her inside the palace. We met Aunt Sage feeding Scott .
"Go to your room, get dressed or should I send a maid to dress you up "
"I can dress by myself , thank you very much." She said rudely as she went to her room.
She was going to be today's lead in the song. I was supposed to be the lead but father insisted that she should do it since it was her first full wolf moon, I taught her how to harness the power of all the celestial events , some of them, she performed excellently and some didn't turn out so well .
The full wolf moon was one of my favourite celestial events, during this event, the werewolves are highly active and go through painful transformation to full wolves . My first wolf moon was full of howling in the east and the west. The mountain werewolves were worse than the ones that resided with the humans, they howled without control. I was highly sensitive to all sounds. It was still noon, I didn't tell Scarlett that it was going hurt a lot , I wanted to tell her but I can't because I know her better than anyone else, she would run to her precious Walter . It was still noon, I needed to keep an eye on her before she tries anything stupid in the evening.
I decided to go and meet my father, when I felt a punch on my back . I turned back and received another hit . I fell unconscious. I didn't see who hit me but I can guess who it is .
