-Pilot Chapter: Happiness is like a drug-
Whistling… the sound of whistling could be heard from somewhere.
There was total darkness, no light, nothing. Only the sound of the wind rustling through the trees could be heard and that whistling sound.
"There's still some distance left."
A voice echoed through the forest, it was clearly the voice of a man. It was deep, carrying a slight raspiness in it.

"Finally," he muttered
So this is the so-called, 'Happy Town.' "
Ahead of him there was a town, each building radiating with light. Enough light for the man's face and body to be revealed.
He was… well average, nothing about his looks seemed unique or unusual. He was just an average young man, brown hair, brown eyes average height, probably somewhere between 18 to 20. And yet, there was still something, something ominous about him…

As he was walking through street, the young man saw nothing, just an average modern town. Though there was something that confused him.
Every single person he saw was smiling.
"Those smiles… they're fake."
The young man thought to himself.
His thoughts though were stopped abruptly, once he saw something that continued his spiral of confusion, it was a colossal sign depicting an old man holding a pill in between his fingers.
"That smile"
The old man wore the same fake smile as every other
resident of this town. While above his head…
"Take the happy pill"
"I guess that large sign caught your attention didn't it"
The young man quickly turned his head, right next to him sat a middle aged man somewhere around his 40s possibly even 50s. And yet even he was smiling just like everyone else.
"Happy pill? Is there some connection between this happy pill and the town's name?"
Asked the young man, not knowing exactly how this world's manners worked, he wasn't sure whether what his said would be considered disrespectful. He wanted answers he wanted to learn how this world worked even if that wasn't the reason he got here in the first place.
"Oh sorry for not introducing myself, the middle aged man introduced himself as Keiichi Sato, he was an average middle aged man, slightly taller than the young man, wearing a typical business suit, his face showing gruelling tiredness, possibly as a result of his work.
"Yet you still don't know what happened? I mean 10 years might have passed but it's still being discussed."
"Either way you can find the answer on the internet or on one of the many books that have been released since then."
The man then turned to the other side and began walking
"Hey"
Said the young man
"I know that this might sound weird but I want to learn what happened from someone who experienced the event."
The man stopped walking, turning his head.
"I'm not a good storyteller, but if you want my experience regarding the situation then I will give it to you, I know this very nice place."

"So what happened 5 years ago?"
"Well the story begins with a group of scientists, whom under the leadership of world famous chemist Shinichi Abe who also happens to be the man you saw holding that pill, managed to create a pill they called Happy."
The man took a sip of his drink, and then he continued.
"This pill when taken would result in this so called permanent state of happiness."
"It was originally advertised as the cure to depression, then it became the miracle pill that could magically fix all your problems."
"What both groups (the scientists and the general public) didn't know or perhaps didn't care to learn about, was the side effects of happy."
"It really sounds like an illegal drug doesn't it."
The man laughed while drinking a large sip of his drink.
Meanwhile the young man was sitting silently, being focused on everything the man said expressing a genuine interest for his experience.
"To wrap it up, happy removes all of your emotions. It forces you to be stuck on happy mode 24/7."
"You can't feel anger, sadness, fear, disgust nothing."
"As time passes you truly realise the negative effects of Happy."
"You turn into this husk of a person, it almost feels like a weird depression, as everything that made you happy in the past feels like absolutely nothing, it's like a sick joke."
"This feeling though really hit me when my son was born, I—I."
The man stopped.
"I—I don't even feel sad I just feel happy, I genuinely feel like a psycho at times."
"This thing… it destroyed me."
The man looked at the young man with that fake smile, yet behind it there was visible pain, cries from a tortured soul wanting to finally get freed from its shackles.
"Even its creator, that Shinichi guy realised his mistake, and he did this world a favour by killing him self."
"What about the towns name then"
Said the young man, glaring at the man with sharp eyes.
"Oh that, well the creators all of them were born in this town, here they conducted some of their many experiments, after the pill made national headlines due to its supposed magical properties and the group won many awards due to their invention, the town decided to rename itself to happy town, and all of us with the exception of a few took the pill."
"What about the smile."
"Side effect of happy, anyways I have to go home, don't worry I will pay for the drinks. Goodnight."
"Actually, I want to ask you a question."
Said the man.
"What's your deal, are you a tourist or something."
"Not exactly."
"Well I can't tell you right now."
"Names Kaito, Kaito Ino."
"Kaito, I see."
"Goodnight then."
Said the man as he was leaving Kaito left out a deep sigh knowing what was about to happen next.
"Well, I guess it's time."
"Excuse me said the bartender."
"Oh it's nothing"
Even the bartender had that smile, Kaito thought. This is a sick world worst part is that I can't help them. He thought whilst leaving the bar.
"The witch is close to me, jackpot."
He thought and then he immediately started running towards an alley, he was looking for something or someone."
He was sprinting like a demon was chasing him, he was running like a true madman trying to find something. He was running through everyone as fast as he could until…
He saw a group of friends talking about something, what caught his interest was a young man that stood in the middle. He was smiling just like everyone else in that creepy manner, there was a piece of paper in his left sinus that had turned red, possibly due to blood, while his other sinus it was actively dripping blood.
The young man then turned his head on the right looking at Kaito, with piercing eyes.
"I will kill you, you son of a bitch"
Screamed the young man whilst looking at Kaito, with a glare possibly indicating the desire to murder.
He then disappeared, but almost immediately reappeared in front of Kaito, this time he was about to punch him.
"Ikaros"
Screamed Kaito. Right before the young man's punch hit him.
"Ren, what are you doing."
Said of the young man's friends.
"Shut up you bastard"
Said Ren, this time he was about to punch one of his friends.
His punch was stopped abruptly by a wing like thing, it was Kaito.
"Heh a transformation."
Said Ren.
Indeed it was a transformation his hands and his back spotted this weird blue ring shaped things, almost resembling sigils. In his back out of those two sigils came wings, which allowed him to fly. There was also this unique almost mystical blue aura that was radiated out of him.
"Who are you?"
Said one of the man's friends. Though Kaito didn't give him an answer.
"Well let me show you my transformation."
Said Ren. Suddenly blue flames begun engulfing his body while he, unfazed begun laughing like a maniac.
"Bastard."
Said Kaito, before a sword looking object made out of feathers suddenly appeared on his arms.
Kaito, using his wings propelled forward going at incredible speeds before stabbing the flaming creature in its heart.
Or at least that's what Kaito thought would happen.
"You thought I was going to die that easily."
Said Ren this time with a demonic sounding voice.
"He grabbed it?!"
Said Kaito, looking confused from the action of that creature.
"Goodbye, witch hunter"
Said Ren before grabbing Kaito and throwing him and his sword to a building.
His power had grown exponentially, he able to destroy an entire building just by throwing someone.
And yet no one cared a woman continued so sip her coffee grinning, as falling from the destroyed building rained around her.
And then that was when the flames went away revealing the monster he had become. He was tall, large shark like fangs had replaced his teeth, his eyes were radiating blue light, he looked like a true demon
And yet everyone remained unfazed, his friends kept chatting, oblivious to what had happened.
"You bastard"
Screamed Kaito, right before appearing in front of the demon, he was standing in the air, sword in his right hand, he was ready to fight.
"Hoo and what are going to…"
"Flying Feathers"
Screamed Kaito suddenly, before a barrage of feathers began coming from his left hand, specifically from the sigil of his left arm.
The feathers were strong enough to pierce the demon, they were almost like knives.
Of course that wasn't the end of it then the barrage of feathers stopped the demon was left with many holes in its body and yet it was still alive laughing at Kaito.
"That's all you've go…"
"Feather Fist"
Screamed Kaito before a multitude of feathers begun covering his left arm, almost looking like a brass knuckle.
He then begun punching the demon on its stomach repeatedly, yet the demon was still unfazed, laughing at Kaito.
His laughs were cut short when Kaito delivered a stronger punch, sending the demon away. Of course that wasn't the end.
He grabbed his feather sword with both of his hands and sent himself flying towards the demon.
The demon seeing Kaito and his sword knew what was about to happen, he had underestimated him. He knew that he couldn't run away he wanted to ask for forgiveness yet he was only met with Kaito's sword.
Kaito had cut the demon in half. And yet that wasn't the end.
"It's heart."
Said Kaito right before appearing in front of the demon.
The demon was regenerating itself with blue flames coming out of both sides of its body and yet it wouldn't be fast enough to completely regenerate.
A sound of stabbing was heard, Kaito had used his sword to stab the creature.
The creature immediately disintegrated, Kaito Ino had killed it.
"W—Who are you."
Said of the demons friends.
"Oh I forgot about you guys."
Kaito said before taking a deep breath and then answering their question.
"Kaito Ino, Witch hunter"
He then disappeared, having become one with nothingness.
