Ten centuries ago, the evils were released from Pandora's box. And so as to appease humanity's troubles came hope: the fleeting emotion that led them for millenia. But humanity soon grew tired of hope without success, so they vowed to return the contents of Pandora's box from whence they came.
With the powers of mighty demigods like Hercules humanity ensnared the evils one by one until there were none.
The world soon grew carefree and so they no longer needed hope. For hope is rarely useful without an insurmountable task.
How amazing! Thought humanity.
And who could blame them? For nothing matters but peace.
Or so I thought. But now, I, Devlin Ashcroft, collector of artifacts find myself with new purpose. I will do anything to save those I love. To save Akira Tenebris who has been struck with a disease once thought inconsequential: depression and ennui. A disease that can only be cured by one thing: Hope.
And so today I begin my journey to hell in order to release the contents of Pandora's box.
