Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: How to Survive When There Are No Monsters

With a workbench and raw materials, Liz could craft stone pickaxes, hoes, and other tools step by step. With a stone pickaxe, he could dig out dirt blocks one by one. With a stone hoe, he could till soil for planting seeds… At first glance, the MC game system seemed to just save time and effort, instantly completing tasks that would normally take seconds or even days.

But if he couldn't use the system's power?

Given only planks, he'd never build a workbench with iron tools by hand.

Given only a stone pickaxe, he'd never dig a tunnel that magically never collapses.

Given only grass, he'd never punch out wheat seeds.

So the system wasn't just about efficiency—it enabled impossibilities.

Liz spent the day testing the system's limits like a true noob:

Mined stone for tools.

Planted the two saplings that dropped from the tree.

Punched grass for wheat seeds.

Tilled soil near the pond and sowed crops.

Built a furnace (useless for now).

He couldn't fully understand the rules, but he didn't need to—applying them was enough. By now, he'd mastered digging, placing blocks, and crafting.

But was the MC system actually a good starter cheat?

Sure, it was miraculous… but not in a way that impressed anyone seeking real miracles. Imagine collecting seven Dragon Balls just to wish for "punching grass for seeds" or "digging holes that don't cave in"—you'd want to strangle Shenron.

Compared to systems where randos could exchange points for god-tier martial arts, Liz's combat potential was trash. MC was for builders, not fighters. Still, he wasn't about to complain. Unlike those idiots who bargained with gods after being isekai'd, Liz knew when to be grateful.

Thus, Liz had taken his first step toward conquering worlds!

…Except.

"Zombie bro, where the hell are you?! I can't survive without you!"

His triumphant first step was met with starvation.

"..." Liz sat on the ground, staring blankly at the sunrise.

He hadn't wanted to wake up this early, but lying on cold, hard dirt made sleep impossible.

The night had been too quiet. No zombies, no skeletons—just emptiness. Liz would've preferred being ambushed mid-sleep. At least then he'd have rotten flesh to eat.

No torches meant monsters should spawn, but nada. Maybe his level was too low, or this world was on Peaceful Mode. Either way, the result was the same: no food.

"Guess the game's telling me to level up elsewhere…"

Dying repeatedly was beneath his dignity as a gamer, but his options were grim:

The saplings were still saplings.

The wheat field (a whopping four blocks big) had barely sprouted.

Even with MC's absurd growth speed, Liz would starve to death five times over before the first harvest.

Expanding the farm to sustain him? Try starving 80 times.

(Crop speed follows MC logic, but hunger damage does too. LOL.)

"Welp. I've done all I can here." Time to leave.

Starvation wasn't on his bucket list. Liz trudged to the pond—carefully avoiding his precious wheat field. Who knew what other worlds held? This farm was his future.

"Unlimited water doesn't help when there's no food…" He gulped down water, already knowing the pond never drained.

At least he kept it clean. No one knew if it could self-purify if he dumped dirty wash water in.

"Alright, let's go!" After splashing his face and drying off on his shirt, Liz activated his world-warping ability.

…Nothing happened.

Don't panic—it wasn't a glitch or level-lock. Just a tiny restriction:

(Latest updates at 69shu8!)

"You're telling me I can't take anything with me?! Harsh much?!"

A fair rule, really. If he could haul resources between worlds, his starter island would become pointless.

"Fine, fine. Dropping everything…"

He crafted a chest with his precious wood, storing dirt, stone, and tools inside. Then, with a heavy heart, he pulled out his only food—the apple that had bonked him yesterday—and took a bite.

He could've used the system to insta-eat it, but why bother? Chewing slowly restored hunger and HP just fine.

…Plus, it tasted amazing.

"Round two!" Liz reactivated his ability. "Send me to a world with 'endless food and tons of zombies to kill'—"
