Chapter 16 - Draft Contract.

When the match ended, Eric Ten Haag raised his fist with a smile and waved several times.

The fans at De Adelaarshorst also stood up, clapping with smiles on their faces.

Back in the locker room after the match, the senior players came one by one to hug Arghana, ruffle his hair, and praise his performance in the final minutes!

After showering, Arghana sat in front of his locker, chatting excitedly with his teammates.

Deniz Türüç and Gary Buel enthusiastically mimicked Arghana's wild shot and flying motion in the 85th minute, complete with exaggerated frustration on their faces.

Even though they were imitating his style dramatically, the teammates laughed without any ill intent.

Still, Arghana only smiled, though deep down he felt a tinge of disappointment.

If he didn't have that hidden edge, would he really be able to survive in European football?

Would jokes like these still be shared among teammates?

But soon after, Arghana corrected his thoughts and reassured himself again:

He had to get stronger!

Whether with or without that moment, he had to push himself even harder!

Eric Ten Haag was in a good mood.

Five consecutive positive results—not only did it boost morale, but the win in the first leg of the playoffs had brought Go Ahead Eagles closer to promotion!

Most importantly, the team's key attackers who were previously suspended were now back!

Main striker and center-forward Guyon Philips and Joran Pot had returned!

Also, the recall of striker Lion Kaak, who was previously with the reserve team, added strength to the squad's offense!

For a moment, it felt to Eric Ten Haag like Go Ahead Eagles had never been stronger.

Promotion was now right in front of them!

In another playoff match, De Graafschap vs. FC Den Bosch ended with FC Den Bosch winning 0–1!

After recovery training on Monday, Arghana was called into Eric Ten Haag's office.

The coach was waiting with a flat expression, though there was a glint of satisfaction in his eyes.

As soon as Arghana entered, Ten Haag pointed to the chair in front of him.

"Sit down."

Arghana obeyed, still a bit tired from the morning's light training session.

On the desk, there was a document that immediately caught his attention.

Before he could read it, Ten Haag pushed it across to him.

"You've proven your worth.

This is a professional contract draft.

We want you to stay longer at this club."

Arghana stared at the sheet with shining eyes.

Even though he had suspected this would come sooner or later, seeing his name on an official contract still brought a feeling that was hard to explain.

"Thank you, Coach," he said softly, trying to contain his excitement.

Ten Haag nodded, leaning back into his chair. "But there's something else I want to talk about."

Arghana lifted his head. The coach looked at him sharply.

"Your condition," Ten Haag continued.

"I've spoken with the medical team.

They said you're not injured or suffering from anything serious—just fatigue.

But this is now several matches in a row where you collapse after scoring late goals.

Are you really just tired? Or is there something else you haven't told me?"

Arghana stayed silent.

He himself still didn't fully understand what was happening to him.

That strange sensation, those moments when his mind felt so sharp, his body moved faster, and every decision seemed instinctive… only for it all to collapse the moment the final whistle blew.

"I… I'm not really sure, Coach," he finally answered honestly.

"It's like… I pour everything out in a flash, and my body just can't hold it anymore."

Ten Haag squinted, then sighed.

"I don't want to lose a player like you just because you're pushing your body too far.

If there's something unusual going on, you need to be honest with us.

I'll have the medical team keep a closer eye on you from now on."

Arghana nodded slowly. "I understand, Coach."

"Good."

Ten Haag stood and extended his hand.

"Read through the contract carefully before signing it.

I hope you'll continue giving your best for this team."

Arghana shook his coach's hand firmly.

"Of course, Coach. I won't let you down."
