There was a prisoner that Lawa saw in the Marmara Stone Wall.
They were told he was at Existence Stage, the highest stage one can ever attain before Ascension but the man can't do bat shit to even kids.
The reason was simple: the part of the world where the Marmara Stone Wall was located rejected him. The yellow sand, the rocks around the Stone Wall and even the air they breathe are harmful to him.
The only reason he survived and was improving gradually was because he was at the Existence Stage.
A normal human may end up worse or even dead.
This was also what made Weish Clash terrifying. They were able to adapt to locations at short moments.
If they were ever defeated by a powerful enemy and then hunted, all they had to do was run to dangerous locations that would reject their enemies.
But with Throw Destination you can avoid those locations and reach your destination that you know was acceptable to you.
Lawa was unhurried; as he walked, he also practised his skills. A distance that he can cover in a day took him about 5 days.
During these 5 days, he avoided several dangerous lizards as well as made 5 additional Dune wherever he slept.
Now he can make one with relative difficulties.
Lawa gazed at a raised tent at a distance. They were made of wood and some material. There was a watchtower and a man on top.
He brought out a necklace with a large flat head and wore it without moving closer until he saw a white flag wagging at him.
This was to show respect and good intentions. Of course, he will have walked there but the people will be more wary of him than now.
Marmara Clan was not a close-off Clan; they were notorious Stone Shapers and Crafters. And these settlements knew they were close to the clan.
Seeing Lawa and his pendent was not out of the norm. They might have met others like him during the duration they settled here.
"Welcome to Luno Settlement!"
An old guard said and Lawa nodded, his hand on his chest, "I'm Lawa. I wish to ask for directions."
The old guard nodded and guided him to their tents.
The whole settlement was a tent, a raised thick fabric mixed with a substance that enclosed them as the first defence.
Inside were scarce stone buildings but most were made of the same material as the large tent.
The clothes they wore were rag tags, a mix of leather with a lot of tears and patches. Only the guards have some armour on them.
The weapons were good though. It was a standard steel blade and shield.
They weren't malnourished or anything, but they were roughly looking, and their eyes seemed to lack enough sleep.
Lawa felt alienated. One look you can deduce he came from an affluent location.
His soft and kind demeanour, his sparkling eyes filled with curiosity, and even the way he carried himself were in stark contrast to the people living here.
Children looked and parents pulled them away as if he was a new creature they never saw.
But the most amazing thing wasn't his look but the clothes he wore.
To Lawa, they were just good enough and could take a beating, but to these people, this was luxurious clothing that not even the chief could afford.
They have a small market, and Lawa passed through; most of the things were items he didn't need at all.
But other travellers were busy haggling and going through stuff they might need.
He was guided to the Chieftain's house. A man in full leather armour with no tears and patches.
He was clean, but his eyes seemed to be like stone. He doesn't blink.
He was rough and angry looking, but the moment he saw Lawa, he smiled, "Ahh, Marmara Clansman. Welcome to my humble abode."
He put his hand on his chest, "I'm Luno."
Lawa sat on a mat, and clean water was served before the man sat before him.
Lawa's eyes observed around. He was looking for anyone powerful that might be at Third Stage, which was Echo Stage, but there was none.
Even Luno was Body Stage, though, powerful.
There was also another thing going on in his mind which was that he was recalling the dream. As if there was a veil that was moving away and that bleak sensation was returning.
"Thank you for having me," Lawa said to the old man. "I'm Lawa and I want to reach the closest Throw Destination!"
"Aren't you too young to be alone? I mean, don't get me wrong, Marmara Clansmen rarely let their kids roam around alone?"
Luno said skeptically. He can't have this fragile egg face trouble here in his settlement. He won't see the end of this day.
"Don't worry. I'm at Body Stage and I'm in somewhat of a trial." Lawa said. "Besides, I might be young but I'm of age."
He sipped the water provided to him. It's a good courtesy.
"Fine." The old man was skeptical but he had to agree. "When do you want to go!"
"May I know what Throw Destination you are affiliated with?" Lawa asked.
There were many of them. Some of them might not accept his Orim currency.
"There are three and each accepts Orim if that is what you are worried about." Old Man Luno said.
"The closest one is Maha Crab Thruster. But the most convenient one was a distance away, Limbo Crafto. The last one was on the move and we had to catch up to them. Mason Jumper."
Lawa held the tablet, among them, Limbo Crafto were the best. Their degree of failure was lower and riding was very comfortable.
"We can take the closest one."
"Which kingdom do you want to reach?"
"It's not a kingdom. It's just… somewhere." Lawa didn't specify. He needed to see their map and their reach before he could decide.
"How much will it cost me"
The old man looked around before he smiled, "We want to leave this place for a week now but my Wind Converser proclaimed there will be another shift…"
"Another shift?" Lawa asked. He knows what that means.
"Yes. So we may stay here for quite some time until it passes. This way, we won't lose our way."
"I understand."
"I hope your speciality is something that can benefit us." Old Man Luno asked.
The speciality may be the best payment for them.
