Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

You know, I wasn't expecting to wake up to with different faces looking down at me while I looked up at them. Every single one of the strange individuals were smiling down at me with the most enthusiastic smiles I've ever seen. What quickly caught my attention was that some of them didn't look human at all. Some them looked like animals and the others looked like humans but had long pointy ears, elves maybe? I couldn't be too sure. They were female from what I can tell by their features, and the dead giveaway being their chest. I couldn't see any malice intentions from them, or notice any weapons. They were… just smiling at me. In a way it was kind of unnerving me a bit. So I decided to speak up.

"Um… who are you people?" I did a look around and found myself in rather nice looking room. A room that looked rather too expensive for my taste. "And where the hell am I?"

The women all let out squeals of joy which caught me by surprise, instinctually getting up and pulling out my sidearm. Instead of them feeling threatened they eagerly got closer to inspect my gun. They ignored my questions as each one of them ask a question of their own.

"Is that a weapon of your home world?"

"Do you mind if we can hold it?"

"What does it do?"

"Will these weapons of your's save us?"

That last question caught my attention as I looked over at the woman with who had reptilian features. "Whoa whoa whoa, save you guys? What's going on?" This seemed to quite them down as three other woman looked over to their friend who was now looking down shamefully. They all look between one another, but before they can say anything a man and woman walk. Just from their appearance I can tell they were of some important status. Surprisingly, the both of them looked good looking. The man and woman had distinctive features that caught my attention first. Their ears being long and pointy, their long blonde hair shining, almost sparkling as the sun hits it. Then their eyes being a beautiful ethereal color.

"Jonathan…" I hear a gentle, yet soothing voice call out to me.

I blink a few times as I stare at the two individuals. I can hear giggling to the side of as the group of women converse with another as they each steal glances at me.

I shake my head. "Sorry, I didn't mean to stare, but…" I raise a brow and look around a bit and look back at the two "I'm not dreaming, right?" One of the ladies steps up to me and pinches my arm with her pointy clawed fingers. I let out a yelp of pain as I rub my arm to sooth the pain.

The girl with the canine features giggles, her laughter almost angelic to hear. Which in turn make my face flush a little. Then she spoke, which was almost trancelike to hear. "Guess you aren't dreaming if you felt that, uh?"

I hand to look away from them seeing my face redden some more. I rubbed the back of my head awakardly as I nodded my head. The girls squealed and giggled at my reaction. Even the blonde shiny haired woman giggled into her hand while the man beside her smiled. Then he spoke up.

"I'm glad to see you're healthy and awake, Jonathan." The male elf and female elf bow their heads slightly. "My name is Caelan, and this here is my wife Silvan. We are the high elves that rule over Alfheim."

"Well, that answers the question I had in mind, but… how do you know my name?" I asked wearily.

"Well," he walked up beside the bed I was in and put a strong hand on my shoulder. "Lets get you up and get you some food first before I can answer your question, or any other questions you might have. You must be hungry."

I looked at him with an odd look. "Actually no I'm not hungry I just a—…" my stomach let out a loud drown out growl, as if not having food in days. Then the memories flooded back to me. My adoptive parents, the kitchen, the humming, the glow, and then me passing out. I soon start to feel myself panic again, but then another hand joins my other shoulder. This one being a lot more gentler. A weird sensation washes over my body quickly calming me down as my tense muscles soon started to relax.

"Be calm, Jonathan. If you are worried about your adoptive parents than worry not. They are safe and well. Panicked, but safe."

My eyes widen in surprise at the fact that they know my name and about Howard and Wendy. The two seem to notice my surprise and couldn't help but laugh a little.

I frowned. "I don't see how this is funny. My parents are panicking, I'm here, and I don't know where here is. Can someone please tell me where the hell I'm at?"

After that question I felt my myself get lifted off the bed, that same weird sensation washing over me again. "We will explain everything to you as we eat. Now come along." With that said I started to float towards the two elves as the other four woman follow along.

At this point I don't feel like complaining, nor questioning anything about where I'm at. Questioning it would probably lead to headaches.

I leaned back against my chair, letting out a satisfied sigh from having a full stomach. The food they served here rivaled Wendy's food, maybe just a tad bit better. That's something I would never say though. Knowing her, she'd want to compete with that.

"So let's rewind a bit," I spoke up as everyone at the stupidly large table glanced up at me as they finished their food. "I was summoned here to this world because you guys needed a hero to help out your country fight back these things Nemesis, which are scourge like demons that plague this world, right?"

They all nod in unison. "And ever other country in this world already has a summoned hero to help fight of the Nemesis that attack them?" They nod again. Then I raise a brow at my last question. "Then how you need me when you can ask the other countries for their hero's help?"

"We've tried that, but the Nemesis is so overwhelming in numbers that one hero can barley handle for one country to not fall. Imagine if one hero defending two countries and going back forth to defend them. Both countries would be decimated. That's not even counting the single six Royal Demons that command the Nemesis. Just one of those royals can level a whole city." Caelan clenched his hands in anger as this yellow aura started to emit from him.

His wife put a hand on his should, which got him to calm down. "We were doing just fine handling it ourselves, but it was getting to the point of being too much for us to handle." A warm smile spread across his face as he looked towards me. "Though, I'm glad we don't have to worry too much now since we got you."

Everyone warmly smiled towards making me awkwardly look away from the attention. I couldn't help but smile myself, the feeling of being recognized and needed for something this huge made me happy.

"A lot to take it in and a little nerve racking, but hopefully I live up to all your expectations."

"We already know you will." The man stands up and this large white orb appears in his hand, gently floating just a few inches off his palm. "With that said, let's see what class you are and the skills you have. We are dying know how strong our hero is." He says with a little bit of excitement in his voice.

The others got a little closer as the orb floated in front on me. I looked it over strangley as this white aura plushed out of it every few seconds. I look up from the orb to the everyone else as them waited impatiently to see the results. I cautiously lifted my right hand up to the orb and slowly it brought it down on top of it. The orb glowed brightly, momentarily blinding me and some type of menu popped up above it.

From what I could read in the displayed menu it said that I was a level one Hunter class. My stats showed I had Magic, Dexterity, Vigor, Endurnace, and Strength. All of them with 10 except Magic. Magic had this infinite symbol next to it. At first it looked like double zeros, but if you took a closer look at it you can tell what it was.

'I guess not too bad for a beginner, right? But I'm not sure about Magic. Don't know why this isn't 10.' I mentally noted. I look back at my skill and saw that it was at level one, which meant I had to level this skill up. It was the only skill I had too, and I couldn't of sworn he said 'skills' not just one skill. I looked up from the displayed menu and find everyone soured looks on their faces.

'Uh oh, that's not good.' I thought.

Caelan's face darkened a little as he looked at me. The warm excited smile he had quickly replaced with a disgusted look. "So it seems we've got a defect summons. Maybe one of the worst one we'ver ever had in past thousand years I've lived." He let out a tired sigh, as if annoyed with this inconvenience. "Valkyries," the four women stood up accordingly and stared daggers at me. "Escort him out the kingdom. Take a teleportation crystal that way none of our citizens see him. Be quick about it as well, we have to prepare for another summons."

The four women bowed quickly and appeared next to me with blink of an eye. Two of them took hold of me started to drag me out the room.

I was speechless. I didn't know what to say or how to react with how sudden everything shifted. One minute they were all giddy and happy and as soon as they seen my stats they were all disgusted with me. It's like they were putting on an act or something. I just didn't know what it was, but I felt myself grow cold and angered at this. These same two feelings I felt when I knew my parents were killed.

Once I was out of the room I felt my whole body shift about uncomfortably, like if I was getting shredded apart and getting put back together but with no pain. One second I was in a room and now I was outside in a forested area. One of the girl pushes foward, stumbling a bit as I catch myself. I hear one of them come up behind, but I don't look over as I stare blankly into the forest.

Third Person P.O.V

—————————————————

One of the so called Valkyries steps up behind Jonathan and hands him a pouch of gold and supplies, showing a little smpathy for him. "Here, take these. We aren't as cold as our rulers, and we don't want you dying out there."

Jonathan looks over his shoulder at the canine Valkyrie who took a liking to cause how sweet she was in the beginning, but now he holds no emotion towards her. He coldly looks at her, devoid of any happy emotion he once had just a few minutes ago. This in turn got her to flinch back a little at how icy his gaze was.

He looked back ahead and started to walk away. "I don't need your fake fucking sympathy." He cursed out in anger, a dark red almost black aura slowly seeping from his body. She frowned a bit and appeared right behind again and took hold of his left arm to stop him.

Before she can say or do anything he swiftly took out his Sig P320 and pointed it directly in front of her face. His firearm glowing intensely with magic around it.

The rest of the Valkyries jump and appear around Jonathan. They all point spears and swords at him, threatening to instantly kill him if he hurts their own.

"Jonathan, please, do not harm our sister. Put down your weapon." The Valkyrie with the reptilian like features pleads. Jonathan softens a little pulls back his weapon. The other Valkyries see this pull back their own.

The one girl gripping his arm softly grips him a little tighter and pushes the pouch and supplies towards him. She looks up at him with that same sympathetic look. Jonathan couldn't help but scoff and pull her hand off his arm and pushing past her.

Then before he can walk any further another hand suddenly grabs his shoulder. He doesn't move or say anything, but waits for what this other Valkyrie has to say.

"We're sorry we had to do this to you. We hope you can forgive us someday." She said softly, gripping his shoulder a little.

He gently grabbed her hand and pushed it away. He said nothing and pushed forward through the forest with his sidearm still in hand. Silently disappearing behind the thick brush without a word, or a look over his shoulders
