"I told you already, don't underestimate me!!"
No longer full of anger, he still gritted out, "Besides, I haven't lost yet!"
"…Right."
Wayne lazily slumped to the ground and replied half-heartedly, "You've stirred up quite the mess… I guess I won't get any sleep anyway. I'll indulge you—one last chance."
"You bastard!!!"
Zabuza's fist clenched tight. Wayne's dismissive tone cut at his pride like a blade.
"Then I'll show you the technique I just mastered!"
"A-level Ninjutsu."
Zabuza no longer wore his sadistic grin. With a snap of his hands, he began forming hand seals. "Water Style: Great Waterfall Technique!"
As he exhaled, a tremendous surge of water burst forth like a cascading torrent.
"That's it?"
Wayne sighed, unimpressed. His hands mirrored the same seals—but this time, it wasn't a repeat.
"Sea Release: Ocean Surge Technique!!"
Wayne opened his mouth, and suddenly, an impossibly vast volume of seawater erupted forth.
Compared to Zabuza's waterfall, it was like comparing a stream to a tsunami.
Wayne… was a man carrying the Pacific on his back!
The waves he summoned rose over twenty meters high. And then—he opened his mouth again.
No wonder this was called Sea Release. The moment you piss him off, you get a natural disaster!
BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!!!
The two waves clashed ferociously. Unsurprisingly, Wayne's surge dominated. Zabuza was swallowed whole by the flood—Wayne himself vanished into the tide as well.
"Uuurghh!"
Zabuza's agonized voice rang out. Blood streaked through the swirling water.
He felt sharp, brutal bites tearing into his flesh.
Beneath the water's surface, shadowy figures swarmed—rows of jagged teeth glinted in the deep. "S-Sharks?! A whole school?!"
Ka ka ka… ka ka ka… ka ka ka…
At the same time, Wayne's sea expanded outward, sweeping across Kirigakure like a divine flood, tearing through structures.
"…Oops. That might've been a bit much."
Wayne scratched his head. "Didn't expect that from a passive defense…"
Fourth Mizukage: You called flooding the village and summoning sharks "passive defense"?!
"If I don't clean up after that guy, I won't be able to return."
Wayne stretched his limbs and turned back toward his room for some sleep.
By the next morning, Kirigakure still hadn't dried out.
As for who caused it? No one could say. Many assumed it was a natural disaster.
After all, who had ever heard of a Water Release jutsu powerful enough to drown a village?
After a simple wash-up, Wayne stepped outside. Kirigakure looked like a seafaring city.
"Cousin! You're okay!"
A crisp voice rang out. Wayne looked toward it—it was Terumi Mei.
He couldn't help but grin.
She was arriving…by boat.
"Guess I overdid it."
Wayne rubbed his temples. Truth be told, he had held back a lot of Haidun's full strength.
Terumi Mei reached him and scanned him up and down, clearly relieved he was unharmed.
"You're safe. That's what matters… The village suffered a lot last night."
She pressed her hand to her chest as she exhaled in relief.
"Hehe~~"
Wayne chuckled. He said nothing. Everyone should suspect it was him. If they confirmed it, he'd probably be flayed alive.
As for Zabuza… he might have drowned. At this point, he was just a rogue with no blade.
The Kubikiribōchō currently belonged to Jūzō Biwa of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.
"Things are spiraling out of control. There's war outside, unrest inside. Be a good little brother and stay at my place for a few days."
Terumi Mei looked at him expectantly.
"Absolutely not."
Wayne refused instantly.
"Why?!"
Terumi Mei puffed out her cheeks in frustration.
"Because a sis-con like you is ten times more dangerous than any rogue ninja."
Wayne replied dead serious.
"You brat! A beauty like me offering to live under the same roof—you think that's normal? That's eight lifetimes of good karma!"
Terumi Mei snapped.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Suddenly, several figures skimmed across the water's surface. Each step rippled like a dragonfly gliding across a lake.
"Look at them—then look at you. You're pathetic, sis."
Wayne clicked his tongue.
"I came to get you! I'm treading water like a pro! How dare you!"
Terumi Mei hollered.
But in truth, her sharp eyes locked onto the figures approaching. Their chakra was thick and dangerous.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
They landed in a blur.
Three people in total—each bearing a massive blade. Members of the infamous organization: The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
Jūzō Biwa, Kushimaru Kuriarare, and Raiga Kurosuki.
Terumi Mei's face tensed. These were not foes one could take lightly.
She immediately rushed to Wayne's side, fearing they might harm her younger cousin.
But…
Just as they closed in, Wayne grabbed Terumi Mei and gently pulled her behind him.
"This…"
Terumi Mei blinked. Her brain short-circuited.
He's… protecting me?
"Wow… You do know how to shield me, don't you, little brother."
Her breath tickled his ear.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
Wayne growled. Seriously? Three monsters in front of us and you're whispering sweet nothings?
"I'm not scared."
Terumi Mei winked, smile playful and calm. "My silly brother… would never let anything happen to his big sister, right?"
"You really suck."
Wayne shot her a glare.
