The day after the amusement park picnic, everything felt more tense at school. Whispers floated through the halls not about classes, but about Daniel's performan and DG's sudden appearance.
Jalen leaned back in his chair, a bottle of water half-empty in his hand. Daniel sat across from him on the rooftop, the breeze stirring his hair. Jace was beside Jalen, munching on chips, looking bored but listening.
Daniel finally spoke. "DG said I should take over the four big crews. What does that even mean?"
Jalen set his water down and looked at him. "He's not joking, if that's what you're wondering."
Daniel raised a brow.
Jace sighed. "Guess it's time we explain."
Jalen leaned forward slightly. "The Four Major Crews run most of the street scene in Korea. Each one controls a district, and each is led by someone handpicked and I heard trained by the same man."
Daniel's eyes narrowed. "Really."
"Exactly,His name is Gun." Jalen's voice was calm. "Workers. Hostel. Big Deal. The Union. Each crew's strong in their own way, but the scary part is this if Gun really wanted to, he could dismantle all four."
"Then why doesn't he?"
"Because control is easier when others fight for the top while you're already there."
Daniel stayed quiet, processing it all.
Jalen continued, "Gun trained every single crew head. He gave them their power. And now people like DG are trying to test what happens when someone else reaches that level."
"And you?" Daniel asked. "Where do you fall in all of this?"
Jalen stood slowly, his shadow stretching over the rooftop.
"Gun's my teacher now. I've trained under him for months."
Jace and Daniel opened their mouths surprised.
Daniel blinked. "Seriously?"
Jalen turned to face him.
"Whether you decide to go for the four crews or not, things are already in motion. But if you do, just remember one thing power draws attention. And not everyone's going to clap for you on a stage."
The wind swept through again.
Jalen stepped toward the door.
"Come on. Lunch is almost over. Let's get back before people think we're planning something."
Daniel followed, more thoughtful than ever.
