Synopsis
Hello, this is Satoru Tenshin. "Wait, I've been reincarnated into Douluo Dalu's world?" Thank goodness, I'm before the first book of the work!" "I'll get stronger because in a few years things will get out of hand." Years later... "So... can someone explain to me what's going on?" Tenshin wondered as he saw Tang San and the Asura God looking at him with deadly eyes. Then Tenshin looked in another direction, where there were some female characters acting strangely. 'Maybe an AU?' he wondered as he looked up at the sky. Disclaimer: English is not my native language, so I used ChatGPT to make the story more readable.

Holy Spirit Village

Holy Spirit Village is a modest settlement located to the south of Nuoding City in Fasinuo Province. Encircling the village lies an expansive stretch of farmland where grains and vegetables are meticulously cultivated to supply Nuoding City's bustling markets. The village derived its evocative name "Holy Spirit" from an ancient legend: a soul master, reputed to be of the Spirit Saint level, visited the area a century ago. That historic visit has since blossomed into a wellspring of eternal pride among the villagers.

On the village outskirts, atop a gentle rise, a solitary child rests in the grass. His eyes are shut, and a serene expression graces his face, as though he is absorbing the calm essence of the surrounding world. His hair is a striking shade of snow-white, interwoven with delicate golden strands that catch the sunlight and cast an almost ethereal glow over his youthful features.

After several peaceful moments, the boy gradually opens his eyes. They shimmer with a captivating blend of deep blue and silver, and his pupils—narrow, vertical, and reminiscent of a dragon's gaze—add an unexpectedly wild, untamed quality to his otherwise innocent visage. This striking duality imbues him with an otherworldly presence.

After a brief pause, the boy softly utters a single, enigmatic phrase: "It's been three years…" Though seemingly insignificant to outsiders, those words carry a profound, personal narrative for him.

His name is Tenshi. More precisely, Satoru Tenshi, though he is now known simply as Tenshin by most. At just six years old, he is already remarkable—not least because he was reincarnated on the Douluo Continent. Yes, reincarnation is very much a part of his extraordinary destiny.

But before delving further, some context is needed.

Flashback: On

Tenshin was born and raised in Holy Spirit Village until tragedy struck during his early years. At merely a year and a half old, he was orphaned when a fierce soul beast attack claimed the lives of his parents. In the wake of this calamity, Old Jack, the venerable village chief, took him in and nurtured him like his own grandson. From then on, life in the village appeared to return to a semblance of normalcy—well, almost normal.

Up until the age of three, Tenshin behaved much like any other child—at least on the surface. Yet even before his peculiar behavior became overt, the villagers had begun to notice subtle differences since his parents' untimely death. His actions were often precursors of an uncanny wisdom. One early example was when, at just two years old, he advised Old Jack to divide the farmland into smaller sections and rotate their use to allow the soil to rejuvenate. Naturally, Old Jack was skeptical at first, but his curiosity spurred him to experiment on a small plot of land. The experiment yielded impressive results: improved soil quality and increased crop yields. Soon, the entire village embraced the method, marking the quiet onset of an agricultural revolution in Holy Spirit Village.

Not every idea suggested by young Tenshin had such a dramatic impact. On another occasion, he proposed setting traps along the forest edges—a practical suggestion, albeit not as revolutionary.

Just before his third birthday, however, an extraordinary event occurred. Tenshin was suddenly struck with a high fever accompanied by an excruciating headache. For an entire week, he lay immobilized, only stirring briefly to eat, drink, and tend to his basic needs. As the villagers grew increasingly anxious and some feared the worst, a swift recovery followed—abrupt and unexplainable, with no lasting aftereffects. Life then slowly resumed its routine.

But it was not entirely the same.

Even as the village continued its gradual progress, Tenshin sensed a dramatic internal transformation. During that week of fever, memories of his former life cascaded back into him—a complete recollection of twenty years' worth of experiences, thoughts, and emotions. The fever and agony had been his young body's reaction to the immense challenge of accommodating his returning consciousness.

When he finally regained a semblance of normalcy, his first instinct was to seek solitude—to reflect, process, and breathe. Excusing himself, he made his way to one of the hills that encircle the village. From the hilltop, he gazed into the expansive world beyond, motionless for a solid fifteen minutes, simply absorbing the panorama.

"Douluo Continent, huh?" the thought murmured through his mind, detached and almost mechanical. Then, an ironic laugh emerged, carrying both bitterness and disbelief.

'What an unbelievable and shitty situation I've found myself in,' he thought, still struggling to reconcile his current existence with the fantastical world he had only once known from a novel in his past life. This was a realm where power dictated destiny, where justice yielded to strength—if you lacked power, you were merely another faceless element in an indifferent crowd.

'Well... at least I'm here before the main story unfolds,' he consoled himself, trying to view the situation in a positive light. After all, things could have turned out far worse—imagine being relegated to one of the sequels, a world where Tang San and his family presided over everything like it was their own private empire.

He recalled Tang San—a thin, restless boy with tousled black hair he had briefly met in the village before his recovery. Once, in his previous life, Tenshin had admired Tang San after reading the first Douluo Dalu book. However, that admiration eroded as the sequels unfolded, revealing contradictions in Tang San's character and diminishing the respect he once felt.

His revised view could be summarized in three stark words: hypocrite, opportunist, selfish. While some fans dismissed these inconsistencies as mere authorial oversights or trivial details overlooked during the writing process, others clung stubbornly to their idealized version of Tang San. To them, Tenshin had only one question: "If Tang San was truly as virtuous as he and you maintain, then provide me with one compelling reason why he should share his own daughter's soul."

Tenshin found not only the question but also the spectacle of fervent fans scrambling to defend Tang San utterly amusing—as they twisted their arguments into knots just to protect their idol's image. Shaking his head, Tenshin pushed these thoughts aside.

'Dwelling on this won't help me,' he reminded himself. 'I must determine what to do until my Martial Soul awakens. Only then can I know if I even harbor the potential to become a Soul Master.'

Thus, he remained on that hill for another hour, silently contemplating his next steps. Ultimately, a single plan emerged as the only viable course: begin intense training—both physical and armed—with the aim of improving not only his combat prowess but also the local economy through innovative ideas. With hope and perhaps a bit of luck, Old Jack might even be able to afford a few books, whether from traveling merchants, Spirit Hall bookstores, or ordinary ones.

Once his resolve solidified, Tenshin rose and made his way back to the village, where Old Jack ensured that he was looked after with daily care.

And so, three years passed...

Flashback: Off

In the ensuing three years, many changes transpired—even though Holy Spirit Village retained much of its outward appearance. The landscape itself seemed unchanged, yet the quality of life improved noticeably. Subtle cues betrayed the transformation: the villagers exhibited robust health, once-dusty paths were replaced by concrete roads, and new shops and homes began to emerge. The village had blossomed into a vibrant, well-organized, and lively community.

At the heart of this evolution was Tenshin. His innovative proposals and collaborative spirit with Old Jack and his neighbors granted him access to better food, clothing, and essential supplies. However, his true gains were far less tangible: they lay in the realms of knowledge, physical fitness, and combat proficiency.

Through Old Jack, Tenshin acquired a wealth of books on diverse subjects. Although none of these tomes unveiled earth-shattering secrets, they provided critical insights into the broader state of the Douluo Continent—an area of utmost importance for him.

Why was this so crucial? The answer was simple.

From the moment he set his plans into motion, Tenshin was acutely aware that his so-called "meta knowledge" from his past life was both limited and potentially outdated. The books he had read predominantly focused on the lives of the central characters, leaving vast swathes of the broader world's lore and developments glaringly unaddressed. Depending solely on that prior knowledge could lead to mistaken assumptions, wasted efforts, and even fatal consequences.

Thus, he made it his mission to rigorously research the world, diligently filling in the gaps left by the original narrative.

His physical condition, too, improved dramatically. Tenshin now matched, if not exceeded, the level of prowess exhibited by Tang San. Through strict self-discipline, he honed his skills across a variety of weapons—preparing for the possibility that he might awaken a weapon as a martial soul—and developed a distinctive combat style. This style was a harmonious blend of hand-to-hand combat and a unique breathing method he called "Foundation Breath." The modular nature of his style allowed him to seamlessly integrate new weapons, skills, or techniques as circumstances demanded.

The breathing technique, in particular, became a source of personal pride. Drawing inspiration from the breathing methods showcased in Demon Slayer, Tenshin fused his past-life knowledge with simplified medical principles and meridian maps extracted from the books Old Jack managed to secure. The resulting method enabled him to absorb ambient energy—a process that both enhanced his physical nourishment and improved his bodily control. In theory, this energy might also marginally boost the practitioner's mental faculties and amplify their inherent abilities, especially their innate soul power.

He emphasizes that this remains theoretical because he cannot yet directly perceive the presence of soul power or the full extent of his mental capabilities. However, over time, as he diligently practiced this breathing technique, he observed marked improvements in his focus, thought speed, creative flair, and overall situational awareness—qualities intrinsically tied to mental strength. Unfortunately, without unlocking his closed Spiritual Sea, he could not fully harness these enhancements. To open it, Tenshin would need to amass substantial mental energy, encounter a stroke of fortune, or devise a groundbreaking technique.

At that moment, Tenshin rose and stretched, his gaze shifting upward as he mused, 'It must be time for the awakening ceremony...' Without delay, he began his descent down the mountain.

Midway down, a familiar voice called,

"Tenshin! There you are! Let's go—the awakening ceremony is about to begin!"

Quickening his pace in response to the call, Tenshin shouted, "I'm coming, Grandpa Jack!" When he reached the elderly man, Old Jack gave him an encouraging squeeze on the shoulder.

"Tenshin, I hope you become a true Soul Master," Old Jack said, his tone an intriguing blend of hope and melancholy. "It has been years since our village produced one. The consensus around here is clear: you are the most deserving. There has always been something extraordinary about you."

A surge of emotion gripped Tenshin as his throat tightened. The realization that so many villagers pinned their hopes on him suddenly weighed heavily upon his young shoulders, inducing a wave of anxiety and self-doubt. With no clear path ahead, he simply nodded silently, resigning himself to fate—even if he doubted that fate belonged to him, a reincarnated soul adrift from another world.

As they neared the community house—a modest wooden edifice at the village's center—Tenshin absorbed every detail around him: the earthy aroma of damp soil, the golden hues of dawn spilling across the fields, and the carefree laughter of barefoot children darting through the grass. The gentle chirping of birds in the trees provided a soothing counterpoint to the tempest stirring within his heart.

Outside the building, families and children had already gathered, their soft murmurs laden with anticipation and uncertainty. Being the last to arrive, Tenshin scanned the small crowd until his gaze settled on a boy standing a little apart from the rest. With his slender frame, unruly black hair, and an unmistakable air of nervous energy, there was no mistaking who he was—Tang San.

"Respected Soul Master, everyone is present. Thank you for your patience," Old Jack announced respectfully, nodding toward the man nearby. All eyes then shifted to Su Yuntao, the representative from Spirit Hall overseeing the ceremony. In his previous life, Tenshin recognized this man by the nickname circulating in the fan community—Blind Douluo.

"Let's not waste any time," Su Yuntao declared in a firm yet kindly manner. "Children, please form a line and follow me inside."

Tentatively, the children filed into the community house. Once all were inside, Old Jack stepped out, leaving Su Yuntao to address the expectant faces with a calm, reassuring tone.

"I am Su Yuntao, a 26th-level Soul Grandmaster, and I will be conducting your spirit awakening today. Whatever transpires, remain calm," he intoned. Opening his bag, he retrieved six polished black stones alongside a glowing crystal orb. With deliberate care, he arranged the stones into a precise hexagonal formation on the wooden floor. Then, drawing a deep, steady breath, he pronounced, "Lone Wolf, possess!"

In response, a surge of energy erupted within the room. Behind Su Yuntao, the spectral form of a wolf materialized—a creature with bared fangs in a silent snarl. At his feet, two spirit rings—one white, one yellow—cast eerie flickers against the walls as the oppressive weight of his soul power filled the space like a dense fog. Some children recoiled in fright, others whimpered, and many faces drained of color.

Tenshin's breath caught in his throat; his muscles tensed and he instinctively stepped back—even though an inner resolve urged him not to falter. He held his ground steadfastly. He was not alone in his resolve. Across the room, Tang San also remained immovable, though his face had paled and his right hand trembled ever so slightly.

Su Yuntao's discerning gaze swept over the assembled children, pausing momentarily on both boys. For a fleeting moment, the Soul Grandmaster allowed himself a spark of optimism—that perhaps one of these children might awaken a martial soul worthy of the arduous path of cultivation.

And thus, the awakening ceremony began in earnest.

The first child hesitated before stepping into the center of the hexagonal formation. Su Yuntao gently released a measured flow of soul power, sending a faint shimmer through the space. In the child's hands, a delicate blue plant with silver-veined leaves materialized.

"Blue Silver Grass," Su Yuntao pronounced in an inscrutable tone.

He then gestured toward the crystal orb, which the child tentatively touched, yet it remained unlit.

"No soul power," Su Yuntao declared with practiced detachment. He had seen this pattern in many villages over the preceding days: not a single child had manifested palpable soul power.

The child's expression fell, and with a bowed head, he rejoined the group in silent disappointment.

One by one, the other children stepped forward, attempting to manifest soul power—a hoe, a wooden hammer, a simple blade of grass emerged each time, yet the crystal orb never glowed. With every failed attempt, the atmosphere in the room grew increasingly heavy with resignation.

Finally, Su Yuntao called out the sixth name.

"Satoru Tenshin."

Note

Note: Hello everyone!

This is the first chapter of the new fanfic. Initially, I intended to just rewrite "Heavenly Book" with adjustments and improvements, and I ended up rewriting 8 chapters. But then I realized that it wouldn't work out so well, because even with the rewrite, the structure remained the same, making it difficult to change. In order to have a "blank page", I decided to create a new fanfic with general redefinitions, so there will be many differences.

And just to clarify, the protagonist's name is the same, and there is no reason to question a Japanese name in a world with Chinese origins - the original work has a character named Oscar, a Western name in an Eastern world, so, in my opinion, Tenshin is a much less "alien" name in Douluo Dalu's world.

If possible, give me feedback and opinion on this chapter

Thank you for understanding and bye!

OBS: I may not be able to post chapters regularly in the future due to my internship, which is quite demanding. However, I will do my best to get as many chapters out as possible this holiday week.
