Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 – Ice Meets Sun: Part I

The sky was veiled in storm clouds as Johan Seong climbed the final steps to a snow-covered temple hidden deep in the northern mountains. Cold winds screamed around him, yet his silver hair barely fluttered—his presence unwavering, calm, and sharp.

He had come alone. He had come to kill Upper Moon Two—Doma.

The man responsible for the future death of Kanae Kocho, the woman who had slowly begun to thaw the frost around his heart.

This wasn't just a mission.

It was personal.

The Ice Palace

Johan stepped inside. The warmth of the temple was artificial—heavy with incense and sickly sweetness. Crystalized blood stained the walls. Dozens of lifeless women sat frozen, their expressions twisted in eternal serenity.

And on a throne of lotus-shaped ice, Doma waited.

"Ohhh... You're no ordinary Slayer," Doma said, eyes narrowing. "There's a strange fragrance around you... Not fear. Not hatred. Hmmm… familiar. Like him."

Johan said nothing. He drew his katana with quiet precision.

No threats. No speeches. Just a look—calm and final.

Doma chuckled. "Fine. No warm-up then."

The First Clash

Blood Demon Art: Frozen Lotus Blizzard!

The air exploded with shards of frozen petals—each razor-sharp, spinning in chaotic beauty. Johan's eyes glowed faintly as he activated the Transparent World. Everything slowed.

He vanished between the petals—a blur in the storm.

Johan countered with Sun Breathing: First Form – Dance of the Fire God.

A golden arc carved through the air, melting the oncoming barrage. Johan's blade ignited the very ground as he struck—forcing Doma to leap away.

"You've mastered Sun Breathing," Doma muttered. "But that mark—on your face. That's not just talent... is it?"

Johan said nothing. The Demon Slayer Mark on his chest glowed faintly, pulsing with warmth against the frost.

Fighting Across the Temple

Doma unleashed another wave of attacks—ice fans, razor winds, and giant Buddha statues made of pure ice.

Johan danced between them, movements impossibly fluid. He read Doma's muscle tension, stepping one breath ahead with each movement.

Sun Breathing: Setting Sun Transformation – Twofold Spiral.

He spun through the onslaught like a firestorm, cleaving two statues clean in half.

"Impressive," Doma hissed, licking blood from his lips. "But let's see you handle this!"

Doma's Trickery

The floor cracked. Mirrors of ice rose from the ground—ten of them—each reflecting a different version of Doma. His Blood Demon Art: Crystal Blood Curse activated.

"Which one's real?" he whispered, voice echoing from every direction.

Johan's eyes narrowed.

He slowed his breath. His vision shifted.

Transparent World activated once again—he could see through the illusions. Each fake Doma flickered… except one. The real one had a heartbeat.

He moved.

In a blur of fire, he clashed with the true Doma, shattering the mirror maze in a brilliant explosion of flame and frost.

Johan's Hidden Power Emerges

Doma backflipped, blood dripping from a fresh wound across his chest.

"You... You're not just a swordsman. I felt something just now."

Johan's left hand opened.

A second blade formed—from pure energy. Shaped by his mind, his will.

A whisper echoed in his head:Unlimited Blade Works – Initiation Unlocked.

Doma's eyes widened. "That sword… didn't exist before…"

Johan stood tall, now dual-wielding. The air around him rippled.

"You were never meant to survive tonight," Johan finally spoke.

Cliffhanger

Doma grinned, eyes filled with madness.

"Then let's make it beautiful."

They charged at each other, blades raised—fire against frost, will against wickedness.
